Good morning everyone! It's May 4th and we are eleven days away from it being May 15th! Is anyone else waiting as well?

I think this is like a final decision, because when I spoke with Ms. Walk, she mentioned they had everything they need. So it will be either an acceptance 🙂 or a rejection 🙁 ... I really hope it isn't a rejection! I love this school and this is where I want to be! I hope the committee likes me too. I don't know of anyone that got rejected right after the interview. and I hope it ain't me either 🙁

Yes I'm waiting anxiously! But I know that the Lord hasn't brought us this far to leave us or forsake us! He has a plan...I pray med school this fall is it! 🙂🙂🙂

Alot of family and friends have been asking about my decision and I really hope that it is an acceptance. Being rejected will really hurt alot. 🙁 The thought of getting accepted is really exciting and really looking forward to being accepted to Howard and living in DC!! I love the school its legacy and I hope that I will make a great difference in the lives of others!

It was nice meeting applicants that will be future classmates and current students from Howard giving alot of support and encouragement. I really hope that I will join the family at Howard and also provide much support and encouragement to others!


We are close to ten days away from the 15th of the month! 🙂🙁😍

Reading the posts, i realized that people have referred to the out of committee letter. what is that? do you get that first, the the final decision in regards to your application? i interviewed on 24th and have not received anything at all.

Hey Angel20, the out of committee email means that your application has been reviewed by the committee and has a decision. It could mean an acceptance, waitlist, or rejection. I interviewed back in March and recently got that email of out of committee.

I'm not sure if there's a misconception about the May 15th date, but just in case there is, I will try to provide you all with what I know. May 15th isn't necessarily the final decision date. While I pray that you get an acceptance notice before that date, don't be disappointed if you don't. At the moment, the class is full. This means that people who may not attend (accepted to state school etc) are still holding a spot in the class. They don't have to give up their spot until May 15th, according to AAMC traffic rules. Spots on the c/o 2016 roster should open up AFTER 5/15. Spots will become available well beyond that date since some people who hold a spot in the HUCM class right may come off waitlists at other schools.

This all being said, if you do in fact hold multiple acceptances (one of which is Howard) please be so kind as to withdraw your application if you've already decided to attend another school so that the wonderful people waiting for their decision can get their good news sooner! If you've not yet made a decision, good luck and hurry up lol!

Hey SDNers,

I got an email today saying i was placed on the alternate list. It's funny because although I was telling MWB to remain positive, I couldn't help but feel disappointed when I saw it. I also realized that it just said i was on the alternate list and not the "super" alternate, so I don't know if that diminishes my chances of an acceptance.

I'm still hopeful and trying to keep my faith throughout this whole process. I'm going to send my grades from this semester and keep them up to date on my progress. But I now know EXACTLY how you felt MWB...... HOWARD IS WHERE I WANT TO BE and that's the reason why it takes such a toll on my emotions.

Best of luck to you all who are still waiting on decisions! 🙂
