High Priority. sad life.

+1. Bummer. I really did enjoy my interview day. I hope this isn't just a polite rejection. Does anyone know if people who were given this decision last year actually got in at any point?

According to various replies from this 2011-2012 thread, last years Jefferson thread and dean cahallan during my interview day - the high priority does see movement!

How much movement depends on how much of the class they have filled by the end of the season. The numbers have ranged from a small handful (~5% of the class) to a good chunk (~25%, possibly even more).

Don't give up hope, you guys are one of the early interview groups and the high priority list is not a bad place to be.

Complete forever and no word. Sad, sad centrigeugle.

just withdrew my application and gave up my interview in mid-Dec (live too far away to afford more cross-country travel)
hope it goes to one of you guys!

I have had the decision pending under interview status since the end of July....is there any hope for a sub 30 out of stater....

Just withdrew my application because I received an IS acceptance very recently. Jefferson seems like a great place to be though and I hope that someone can have my interview slot next week! Good luck to everyone applying!!!

yup 🙂 interviewed 10/26, Dr. Callahan just called with good news. Best of luck!

I have taken the MCAT multiple times and my score is in the 20's I am trying to figure out if I should submit my secondary. Any suggestions?

where does it say that they average MCAT scores?? i took the MCAT several times as well...

I didn't get an email or call. Anyone in this boat?

I know I sound neurotic, but when they say they will get back to you in a week so many times...its hard not dwell on it...

Waitlist =/ not even the hi-priority one, either. Am disappoint. I imagine the regular waitlist doesn't see any movement. Ah well, best of luck to the rest of the the 10/26 crew!

that just means your interviewer wasn't at the board meeting yesterday. Wait till next wednesday

Does anyone know if Jeff is receptive to phone/email communication about status update. Been stuck at Decision pending for a LOOOONG time (like it sounds like many other people are).

Thanks!

You can send updates to Jeff if you have new information for them. Otherwise, they are a silent rejection school - they will leave you on "decision pending" until they stop interviewing in the spring.

Everyone, check your secondary status if you haven't heard back! I just happened to check yesterday (submitted about 2.5 weeks ago... or so I thought.) My secondary was somehow eaten by cyberspace! Luckily I had everything saved so re-submitted 15 minutes after finding out, and followed up with a phone call.

Maybe it's a sign... I had initially said that I was interested in PSAP, then decided not to, and was looking over my stuff before calling them to say that I had changed my mind about it.

for the current students living in and around the area. do you guys happen to know if there is a brazilian jiu jitsu place anywhere near the campus within walking distance?

for those of you who sent update emails, did you ever get a response? because i never did.... but at all of the other schools i applied to, i at least got an email like "received" or "we will add it to your file",etc

Is it worth it to send in a secondary this week?? Any chance at all?

i was looking for one while I was in philly as well!

Interview Invite! Complete since a long time ago.

I just got an email from Dr. Callahan saying I was placed in the Alternate Category, which is flexible and unranked. I am moderately disappointed, but there is still hope.

Waitlisted high priority. Any ideas on how big this list gets? What portion of applicants move from this pool to an acceptance?

I wanna go to Jeff after my interview day. Anybody get in yet? So many waitlisters

first post... first acceptance! Got the good news today-- interviewed 10/26 and was giving up hope!

Jefferson has really put together an amazing interview day. I know that everyone says it, but Dr. Brooks and Dr. Callahan care a lot about the prospective students. Go to cookie hour.

And for LGBT applicants, go have a talk with Luz Ortiz. She cares about your concerns. and is an extremely valuable person to talk to about the application process in general.

Got accepted on Nov. 9th. Liked the school a lot, especially because it has the best location compared to the other Philly schools. What did you guys think of the school?

I missed cookie hour. What did I miss?

It wasn't a big deal to go to it, but it did help if you had any further questions. I was able to speak to an M4 for a good 20 minutes, she gave me a lot of information regarding the clinical rotations. Also, I was able to speak directly to the dean of admissions, she said I could send her an update via email directly to her, regarding new EC's/Jobs, and that's what I did.

Since you're from Philly, if you decided to attend Jefferson, would you live in center city, or in the suburbs?

In all honesty, I thought the cookie hour idea sounded rather cheesy when I read the schedule. But it was chill. Definitely glad I decided to go, I personally did not have any looming questions after my interview and I did not use the time as others have suggested to get facetime with faculty members. I just wanted to catch up with some of the other interviewers that I connected with. We shared some laughter and figured out where we were all headed afterwards as it seemed unlikely that we would all be standing in the same room together again. Still keeping in touch with one of them, through SDN actually...

Just got offered an interview this afternoon for the MD/PhD program on 11/29-30. First interview in 2 years of applications! Could someone who has been through the process (either MD or MD/PhD) describe what the actual interview is like? Just wanted to get a better idea of what I'm going to be getting into. Thanks so much!

Id absolutely live in Philly 100%. You'd be crazy not to

It's an amazing city, so under rated. And Jeff is in a prime area

I was just wondering how long it takes to get the email for the interview invite after your status changes to Interview to be Scheduled? I noticed that mine changed to that yesterday and I just want to make sure it didn't accidently get deleted from my spam or something.

Mine took about 24 hours. But did anybody who interviewed on 11/16 hear yet? Did they say two weeks? Do we all hear in 2 weeks exactly?

At least when I went, it was 1 or 2 weeks, depending if your interviewer could show up on the following Wednesday. You should get a call, then they'll snail mail you the deposit forms.

Ahh. Jesus I hope i get in. Plesseeee let me in Jeff!

Just to confirm...

I'm doing the secondary now:

The prompt, " If there is any additional information you would like to provide please include it in the box below. (*** Please limit your response to 4000 characters and do not cut and paste. ***)"

This is basically my area to show why Jefferson and why me, correct? What else would be good to include in this section?

Also, for the LORS, if we have taken physics, we must get a letter from this professor? I have one for bio, chem, and a humanities (economics) but my prof who taught me physics just had a kid and is super busy. Can anyone give me insight on this?

Thanks!
