Just got the call from Dr. Callahan! Couldn't be happier.

I sent a letter of intent after being put on the HP waitlist last month, and then had a LOR sent in 2 weeks ago. I really think with Jefferson it's helpful to keep your name fresh in the minds of Dr. Callahan and Dr. Brooks.

Good luck to everyone!

congrats!!
I did the same with sending a letter of intent plus an update letter every week/every other week
I sent an update letter 2 days ago and was told they liked that I kept in contact.
So advice for the people serious about getting off the waitlist: send a letter of intent if you mean it and keep in touch! good luck to the rest of you!

Congrats, guys!! I definitely agree that it helps sending letters of interest/intent to Jeff. I got an interview invite at the end of March shortly after I sent them an update letter...

I also stayed in contact with them before my acceptance, so I can vouch for this as well.

It was a tough decision, but I just withdrew my spot at Jefferson. Good luck to everyone waiting for some good news!

Got the call this morning! :-D

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Mine are similar. Hopefully they are just going down their list of applicants ranked by stats haha.

That's very likely! I have to echo what others have said that keeping in touch makes a difference - if you can send any updates, letters, etc ... it can only help you!

Are there any future Jefferson students from Southern California that would be down to do something here before we throw off the bowlines and sail away? If there are enough of you guys/gals we could do a bonfire/laser tag/lightsaber battle or jousting. etc. etc.

PM me

JUST GOT THE CALL/FIRST ACCEPTANCE!!
I'm on cloud 9 right now...😀

This thread is depressing me. Would you guys mind sharing stats? I really want to go to Jefferson.

Sure.

32 MCAT, 3.3 sGPA, 3.4 cGPA from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in chemistry. I also emailed both Dr. Brooks and Dr. Callahan once a week since I got wait-listed (interviewed 2/1).

wtf, that's like 28 emails! How did you find things to say every time without annoying the hell out of them? I could barely muster up stuff for one letter of interest.

I just let them know every week that Jefferson was still my top choice and listed a few things that I really liked about the school. Every now and then I would give an update on what I was doing/learning in my lab also. From what I understand, they really want to see that you're enthusiastic about attending Jefferson so I tried to make sure that they saw that.

For those accepted, any idea about the housing, where do you plan to stay?
Any input will be appreciated.

I'll probably try to get campus housing. I'm traveling all summer so I don't have time to go apartment hunting.

I'm going to try to live in an on campus apartment 1st year then off campus the following years

Probably off campus - can any current students comment on living in one of the fraternity houses? My tour guide was a female, but she seemed to be heavily pushing the guys into living in one.

I only sent one LOI and then like 2 or 3 emails to show my interest FWIW.

I guess on-campus housing. I don't really know the area yet since I'm not from the east coast.

Just got the call from Dr. Callahan! Accepted! First one! I'm speechless.....

Congrats! Crossing fingers here... (again).

Does anyone know how to withdraw from the waitlist?

I've tried looking around in the online application and can't seem to find it...

I think you could just email admissions, Dr. Callahan, or Dr. Brooks?

I withdrew my acceptance here about a week ago. Hope one of you get it!

Hi all! Have any of you who applied to campus housing heard back/received a housing assignment yet? I mailed mine in the first week of May, and I'm not sure how long it will take to process. I'm moving from California and I need to know what date I can move in to plan my travel arrangements accordingly- if any of you have received housing assignments, what date were you told that you could move in? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and congrats to everyone so far!

I just got my housing assignment today, was told the 1st day to move-in was July 15th. I sent my application in around 3/29

Last year they staggered move-in dates to prevent a traffic jam. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that you'd know your date until you get your assignment.

I'm not sure when exactly you'll hear back, but it might be worth contacting the housing office to get an idea of when you'll get your assignment. Supposedly this year all the incoming med students can start moving in on July 15th. Congrats on getting into Jeff and good luck!

Thanks! I think I'll give it a week or two and if I haven't heard from the housing office yet, I'll give them a call.

Anyone heard anything from the wait list?

Anyone heard anything from the wait list?

No, I've emailed Dr. Callahan and Dr. Brooks and it looks like there aren't any seats currently available, but not all students have confirmed their seats yet either. They said they are waiting to get MCAT scores from students in various linkage programs, and if these students do not receive the required scores, spots may open up. Spots may also open up if people who have not yet confirmed their offered seat decide to decline. Hoping to hear back myself!

Just got the acceptance call!!! Was on the HP wishlist, in case anyone is wondering.

Just got the acceptance call around 4pm today!! So excited to start here 🙂

Not sure if everyone knows about this: we received an email to our Jeff account about two weeks ago asking us to take a Readiness test for our Molecular and Cell bio course. To access it, you have to go to your Jeff Pulse acount, click on courses, then on the MCBM course. The link to the Readiness Test is on the left side.
