Has anyone received a status other than Decision Pending, Interview Decision Pending, or Interview to be Scheduled? No 'Final decision to be e-mailed' or 'We're sorry, you're not good-looking enough for our school'?

Jefferson does silent rejections. Everyone who doesn't get an interview will get an email in April saying interviews are no longer being offered.

will there be a status change like on hold or something or will it be decision pending till april?

anyone else having trouble sending in their payment? I called the admissions office and left a voice mail. Hopefully, I get this issue resolved.

Hey everyone! Just wondering for this application if there was any way to save your application as you go along, or if you must put in the information all at once before you officially submit. Anyone know?

Thanks!

I emailed them a while back about my letters and if any accepted/medical students could give me feedback on this question I will be grateful.

I have a chemistry, biology, education studies, and coach for letters of rec. Will that suffice?

I am planning to receive another chemistry/biology/md/do letter (probably late july, early august).

I have the decision pending status but my app isn't complete. My letters aren't in yet and won't be till the first week of august. Anyone else know what this means?

So...it is pending until your app is complete.

Yea I also have nothing written at all (submitted 7/7). Just 3 Yeses stating they have received everything. How long did it take people to start seeing an actual status?

I have the same thing. Submitted 6/23!

Under the 3 Yeses, it should say, Interview Status: Decision Pending (or Interview to be Scheduled). Do you not have either of those?

There is nothing underneath the 3 Yeses. Could this mean they haven't begun reviewing my app?

I submitted late June and don't have an interview status line. I called and they said I was under review, but they weren't sure why I didn't have a status.

Anyone else try calling about it?

I called about the same issue and got the same answer

Hmmm . . . interesting. I'm not counting on this school, anyway. They seem to drive a hard-bargain numberwise.

hey what does your guys' "application preference" say on your main page?

Mine says "not entered"

so someone on another thread said they think jefferson definitely DOES NOT want us to write about "why jeff" -- i coudn't find the link/data/evidence as to why they think that, but i'm wondering if people who have more experience with this school might think -- i have two choices, 1.leave it blank or 2. explain some circumstances about bad grades (but i've been erring towards not writing this at EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL -- i mean, i don't want to seem like a whiner)

news to me b/c i wrote "why jeff" and "why i would fit in well". i mean i have bad grades but no good reason for them (i.e. traumatic life experience) so why bother continuing to mention it when the adcoms are going to see it anyways?

No one knows what adcoms want. It's (mostly) all conjecture. Write what you think will best help your application. Only you can decide whether or not there's any additional info that the adcoms should know. If you really really want to go to Jefferson (i.e it's one of your very top choices) and have unique reasons, then I'd go ahead and elaborate on them. If Jefferson isn't one of your top choices and you have to research their website to write a generic why jefferson essay, I think adcoms will realize you're just sucking up to them. This one needs to be your call.

Sorry for inciting mass panic 🙂 but I just read about it on page 2 of this thread. See posts by AvidAvatar and minerva 3121.

haha, lol. sorry i'm just so paranoid lately. xATB-- congrats on your interview invite! i think you wrote that you didn't write any extra essay right? how do we enter anything into this app if we can't "cut and paste"?

Totally agree. Take anecdotal evidence at face value and with a grain of salt. Unless something comes from a school itself, there's a chance it could be wrong/useless/irrelevant.

For the record, I touched on "why jefferson" a bit in my additional info essay and I have gotten an interview already, so it likely depends much more on what you say and how you back it up.

thanks Donnie, congrats on yours too! You're a reapp right? I hope you have more luck this time! Can you tell me how you typed your essay since we can't cut/paste?

i mean...it looks like last year's people actually typed it in word for word again. but then they also had a problem when it got over 2000 characters even tho it says 4000 max. anybody?! mine's like 3000 so I don't want to type word for word only to get an error.

Copy and paste to notepad to remove MS word special characters. Copy and paste from notepad to jefferson

Thanks, and yeah I've been through this before unfortunately.

I don't know why I was able to, but I copied and pasted without a problem. I did it from Open Office though, maybe that made a difference? Idk... I had no errors though.

thanks guys! i'll try the word to notetab thing. reading through last yr's thread, ppl said they got held up when their billing address didn't match the preferred address on the Jeff app -- mine are diff. ahhhhh, what should i do? 🙁 ok i know i need to chill too.

what should i do? 🙁 ok i know i need to chill too.

When in doubt, call/email the school. The admissions offices are there to answer our stupid questions, along with everything else they do. Despite probably hearing the same things day in and day out, I have always gotten my questions answered as if it was the first time they'd heard it from schools.

That said, I've personally found Jefferson to be most easily reached via email. I've had trouble getting in touch with a person on the phone, but they've been quite prompt and thorough in the emails they've answered from me.

They're good at what they do, and it doesn't count against you to ask them stuff.

oh no 🙁 i tried copy/pasting into Notetab Lite, saved it, opened it, cut and pasted it into the Jeff app and it looked fine until I pressed submit. Then it came out as one big block of text (no paragraphs). Anyone else have this problem? NOt sure it woudl even change if i typed it again word for word.

also, for people who have already submitted, did it ask you for your "billing address" anywhere before you typed in your credit card info? cuz i only see "preferred address" (already filled in/can't change) and "mailing address" -- wondering if i should put my billing address for the mailing address?

if it said dont cut and paste, why would you cut and paste?

My status changed from "decision pending" to "interview decision pending"

Did anyone who had "interview decision pending" ultimately end up with an invite?

Back a page or two someone at Jeff commented that those status' mean the same thing, and they said not to look into it too much.

Also, for the discussion above about what to write about in the additional info section, I wrote about something completely unrelated to Jefferson and I received the status "interview to be scheduled" about two weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm not reading too much into it. I just find it odd that they have two different statuses, each of which seemingly imply the exact same thing. Maybe they're still in limbo as to whether they want to send me an invite.

When I saw my status change a couple days ago, I thought it was me going from the queue of thousands to the queue of dozens. Kind of a 'currently under review' status. No?

What is your current status? Like the guy said above me, my status indicates that they at least reviewed my file. I looked at last year's thread, and the "interview decision pending" status did not crop up until winter. Maybe they're doing things a little different this year. Also, I was not complete until early July.

Decision pending --> interview decision pending. I'll post when it changes.

I typed my answer to #9 word for word and still had problems getting the paragraphs to show up when I clicked submit. Fortunately, it allowed me to go back, so I can retype it again. Has anyone else had a similar problem when submitting their additional comments essay? How are you getting paragraph breaks to show up?

They don't show up, but don't worry, they're still there. No need to retype your essays.

Thanks. It's too late, I still have to re-type it because I had to get back to my real job. How do you know that they are still there?

I just submitted my applicaton. However, there is nothing under the application data. I am wondering if my information is lost. I just emailed them and hopefuly can get an answer soon.

Does anyone know the approximate turnaround for this school? I was complete around 7/13...

Been Decision pending since June 23 😛

Anyone know if they send a complete email since I never got one.

Hi Everyone, I dont see a regular MD program pick in the secondary. I see:

a) Physician shortage program
b) MD/PHD
c) Dimer

If I pick no to all the above does it automatically indicate traditional MD?
