So the MSTP committee at a certain school recommended me for admission to the program, but now I have to wait about a month for the MD program to make their decision (they have the final say as to whether I get in or not to the MSTP program) What do you guys think, do my odds look good? I'm kind of in an awkward spot given that the other place I interviewed at before this I was rejected.

I think you are in a very good spot here unless you really screwed up your MD interview. Most places that I have spoken to (Wash U, Pitt, Duke come to mind) stated that the MD committee disagreeing with an accepted MD/PhD candidate is unlikely and, if it does happen, there are alternative routes (e.g. fly you back to interview again or they just fight really hard for you). Granted, if you did something very wrong, this wont be the case, but it sounds like you are in good shape. Congratulations!

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this question, but has anyone heard back from Mt. Sinai recently? I interviewed early January, and they said we'd get an email whether accepted/waitlisted/rejected on February 16 but no word yet. Just wanted to know if something's up on my end or if decisions were delayed for some reason... Thanks in advance to anyone with any info!

Acceptances may be delayed at Sinai and some others because there is a pending (scheduled, normal) review of training grants that has been delayed at NIH. Programs may be waiting and hoping that they will have confirmed numbers off the review before they do final offers.

From my understanding, Duke already called a few people awhile ago to let them know that they would be offered a spot, and that official offers to everyone accepted would be sent out to everyone at the end of Feb. Has this changed?

Not to make you freak out Gogogirl... but I did get this call. I don't think that not getting the call means not getting accepted, though, so keep your head up!

Also, SBR249, http://mstp.duke.edu/admission/notification-decisions says MSTP decisions come out late February, and med school decisions early March.

I can confirm these calls. They went out to a small number of students, not enough to fill the class. I received a call and consider Duke to be my top choice and therefore am in close communication with the program. First week of March was the last information I was given by the program director. So hold your horses and try not to worry too much.

I would assume that's probably it for Columbia. I interviewed on one of the last dates and they said they'd accept as many as they want in mid Feb and reject everyone else. Still a glimmer of hope before we get the letters in the mail, of course...

Has no one else on this forum heard back from Columbia? It seems odd that only one of us was accepted... Starjump, was your email an official one from the committee or something more informal from an interviewer or something? Also, looking at the acceptance threads from previous years, it seems like they historically notify by snail mail (maybe in early March? Confirm this). Just my two cents...
