Congrats on your interview! It must feel great to have it behind you. They must like you, too. My interview invitation came a few weeks before yours and I'm not interviewing until December 1st. The wait is brutal, but its an all too familiar feeling by this point in the application process. Anyway, good luck staying busy until your decision day. I'm rooting for you because of our Kzoo connection. My wife and I are actually moving back there in a few weeks until my whole med school thing is sorted out. I can't wait to be home for a while!

the interview groups that come in the spring are huge, you might be under review for awhile but dont worry about it, as long as you don't get rejected they really are reviewing your app sporadically.

Thanks, it really does feel great. I really, really want to go to CHM. I think my interview came so fast because I am in-state. They called me the Friday before my interview (6 days prior) so my guess is someone canceled and they knew it would be easier for someone so close to come in that quickly. Regardless of how or why I got an invite, I was ecstatic when I got the call. I felt like my interviews went well, but it's all in the hands of the admissions committee now. So I'm just crossing my fingers

I hope we both get in 🙂 I will be watching to see how it goes for you as well.Interview on the 10th in GR too! Very excited! I'm curious if anyone knows when we get to know if we're in or not. Either way I'm honored to be interviewed at this point.

Does anyone know my chances of getting in ? I have a 8 verbal, 7 phys, 9 bio.. I have an interview 1/19/12.. what are the odds after getting interviewed that I can get in?

It kind of really depends on how your interview goes...
A committee votes for you after the interview, so it's based on your application (which includes the interview) as a whole. It helps, of course, if your interviewers advocate for you, but the rest of your app should be stellar. Your MCAT is on the lower side, but hopefully other aspects of your app offset that.
The Michigan affirmative action ban is still on the books pending the Sixth Circuit's en banc rehearing of an earlier decision that found the ban unconstitutional. Thus, race cannot be taken into consideration in your admission decision at any michigan public school until a final ruling is released. This assumes that they uphold the original panel decision (which is sadly unlikely).

but, I believe MSU has a program kind of designed for URM students that is a 1 year MS + 4 year MD that they can put you into after your MD interview
ABLE is for disadvantaged students. It is race neutral on paper at least. See http://mdadmissions.msu.edu/ABLE/able.php ( stating "The Advanced Baccalaureate Learning Experience (ABLE) is a year-long enriched academic experience offered each application cycle to an invited group of disadvantaged students who have applied for admission to CHM.").

+1. I wish I didn't know any of those release dates and these information! My interview is on Friday and here I am watching you guys wait and trying to figure which date I might get a call. Day dreaming beats writing a paper about the sources of evil. LOL.
ha, oh man, I have an exam at 9:30 tomorrow morning that i'm definitely not ready for, and I simply can't concentrate...ha, I will also be finding out about another school tomorrow @_@
