Just got off the phone with a secretary at Alabama - Tuscaloosa, and was informed that all invites would be extended by the end of this week
That means this is going to be a long week then...

Just got off the phone with a secretary at Alabama - Tuscaloosa, and was informed that all invites would be extended by the end of this week
For at least the past 3 years, Houston hasn't sent invites until the 1st week of February for interviews late in February or MarchDoes anyone know interview information for the following schools (all in Texas):
Texas A&M
UT Austin
University of North Texas
SMU
University of Houston
UT Southwestern
Thanks!
Would mind PMing me your POI?Hey all, This appears to be a very stressful time for everyone. I think it is best to take what is posted on here with a grain of salt. One POI might call their interviewees 2 weeks before another. With that being said, I received an invitation for an interview.
The University of Miami (Florida)
Contacted by the POI via phone
Very short, informal set of questions
Interview weekend is Feb 9th to 11th.
I've had 2 pre-phone interviews. Both were about an hour. The first one was a bit more free-flowing than I expected. The POI actually asked some questions about things I put in my statement of interest, wanted to know what my ultimate career goal was (although it's stated in my application, I'm a non-traditional student so I think he just wanted to make sure), and then we talked a while about my interests and how that might fit in with his lab (I had originally named 3 potential POIs). Early on, though, he asked me what questions I might have, so the conversation became much less structured than I thought it would be. I think he was very interested in getting a sense of who I was personally, so a fair number of questions were more personal (what do I like to do for fun, how would I describe myself, etc.). The second phone interview was a little more formal, with the POI asking more questions. Again the focus was on my research interests, my goals, and what he was working on currently. Definitely have some questions prepared - mine usually focused on current projects, how much collaboration goes on in the program/lab, and other stuff that came up while we're talking. Oh, and both POIs asked where else I was applying.Me too! I had one yesterday that was about 45 minutes. One thing I didn't expect is how much the POI does the talking. It takes some pressure off though, and it makes it easier to ask your questions later. They want to know why you're interested in their research, in less formal terms. My POI also asked me if I'd be comfortable with the weather in that state (since it would be a big move for me). Make sure you have a lotta questions to ask them too, and read some of their studies so you can show that you understand their lingo.
Ditto re: it would be GREAT if the lucky Vanderbilt invitee could PM me his/her POI. Thanks, and congrats!!
Someone posted a rejection from Nebraska-Lincoln on TGC. (mass I believe)
I didn't get an interview invite, but also didn't get a rejection? Anyone know what this is about?
If I have not received any word from CUNY does that mean that I am screwed?
Me either! I wish I knew! Though, I applied to the psych/law program so maybe that accounts for being in limbo...?Someone posted a rejection from Nebraska-Lincoln on TGC. (mass I believe)

Thanks for contacting! I wonder if this applies to law/psych applicants as well. I suppose I could email the coordinator but I always feel bad hounding for answers. :-( Oh well... I'll take limbo over a rejection any day.I answered my own question by e-mailing someone.
Response:
"You are part of our "round two" group. What that essentially means is we are interested in your application however there are others who we have invited to interview. I will update you on the status of your application as offers are extended and spots either fill up or become available. I wish I could be more helpful but this is really all I know at this moment. Thanks"
"Round two group"? Basically wait-listed?
If you read through the forum, there's a few posts on this topic. I think the consensus is 'yes' because it means that the department (i.e. a grad student) has more opportunities to get to know you.Does anyone know if it's a good idea to stay with grad students during interview weekend?

Also, I am an undergraduate at Marquette University.
Heard from my professor that I work with that they aren't meeting to start reviewing applications for the clinical program until next week. So don't expect any invites for probably a week and a half or two!
Simply, it depends.
For me personally, I will be taking advantage of it to maximize my exposure to everyone, get a better feel for the program, and save some cash while doing so. Conversely, I could see how you may feel like you are never not in an interview, and may just want your own space for a while.
I'm waiting on UNC Chapel Hill too. On their website, I *think* the info has been updated - it now says we will hear by Jan 25, where previously (a week or two ago) I think it said Jan 20. If anyone has any info about them it'd be great, though!
I PMed the person who posted about Vanderbilt in this thread, but if any others also have received Vanderbilt invites, I would really appreciate a PM as well (with POI information). Thank you so so much and congratulations!!
I didn't see a post about Vanderbilt Clinical but if someone did post that they had an interview, can you send me your POI too please?? Thanks 🙂
For everyone keeping score 🙂 Emory Clinical Psych just hit TGC. Phone call invite to interview. Congratulations! Also if you are out here, can the person who received the call PM me their POI? Thanks!
Has anyone heard from Auburn yet? The wait is killing me!
Do all schools send out rejection emails, or do they let you wonder forever?

Just saw UT Austin go up on the list, email from POI on 1/13?
I would LOVE if whoever this was could PM me their POI!
Oh, the craziness has begun...
That's both good and bad. I figured I would get most of my emails this week so I have been checking my phone non-stop.Last year, someone got an invite Jan 20th to interview on the 19th of February. It seems they send out rejections via e-mail around the same time, which is certainly better than being left in the dark and receive a letter in March...
I would like to know this too!
Has anyone heard anything from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill? I read they were suppose to start calling today, but have not seen anything.
That was my error, it was Emory that began contacting today 🙂 Sorry it gets a bit confusing when you have applied for 18 programs. It says on their website that everyone will be notified by the 25th. Just wondering - where did you see that they start calling today?
Sorry to be this person, but could the UT-Austin person PM me as well!
Thanks!
Thanks 🙂It's on page 18, post 864 🙂
me too... sorry and thanks!
