2011-2012 Psychology PhD/PsyD Interview Invite thread

Has anyone heard anything from U of Houston's Counseling Psychology program?
 
They admit you to a specific lab, but they never told me which lab out of the two I put down on my app that I was actually interviewing for when I interviewed there. I just prepared for both POIs. Good luck!
 
someone posted in TGC about getting an invite to Syracuse clinical. Would that person mind PMing me their POI? I'd really appreciate it 🙂
 
received an email from POI at Portland State University on Friday asking for a Skype/phone interview this week

A question for those of you who have applied in previous years, or anyone who knows...

If a program i've applied to sent out invites several weeks ago ( I didn't receive one), and now several people have posted that they've received rejections from this same program but I haven't received anything, what could this mean?
 
Ophelia: I spoke to a few students who applied last year and are in Ph.D. Pgms now and a couple who were rejected and had to reapply- to answer your question (based on their response) It could mean a couple of things (1) you did not make the first cut off... however they still might consider you a strong candidate; meaning theyll keep your application on file and wait until the previous candidates in the first round decide- you still might have a shot at an interview if students decline their acceptance and/or they want to wait for other resons to get back to you--but you'll hear back later than expected (2) you are "unofficially rejected" and theyre just waiting until march/April to let you know.

I have a friend who had an interview scheduled in early April and got accepted end of April. To be honest it all depends on the school and Pgm but it's still fairly early to jump to conclusions--just stay positive for now.. Ya never know

Thanks so much for your response....im just confused because I received neither the interview nor the rejection, im hoping that it is perhaps because they are keeping me in mind... This process is sooooo nervewracking...

I got my invite to Syracuse clinical!!! via e-mail from my POI. I can confirm the interview date is feb 13th!

My supervisor has an old classmate who's now faculty at OU, and he just spoke with him this past week. It sounds like they are just finishing up applications and will be sending out invites soon. Hope that helps!

Just to alleviate some concerns, I just received a reply from the University of Denver's Clinical PsyD program regarding interview invitation statuses. They are still 'currently in the admission application review process for our programs and hope to be in contact with applicants regarding interviews as soon as we can'.

Hi everyone, I just discovered this site, but have been addicted to TGC for about 2 weeks now.

In response to a prior post, I have an interview at Kent State for Clinical PhD. I received an email from my POI, so not sure if it is done or not?

I also applied to UNR and the website said interviews by phone Jan 27-29. I didn't receive a call.. nor have I seen anything on here or TGC. I suppose I'm being hopeful, but I think its possible that they did not go out? (online it said it was approximate?). Has anyone received an interview?

Also on TGC, people posted phone pre-interviews for UTexas-Austin.. but I haven't heard anything about invites for in person interviews. Personally, I've written it off.. but not sure if that's the way to go? I did not get a phone pre-interview.

Finally, has anyone heard from Kansas University/University of Kansas? I applied to the Clinical PhD.

Your application is now complete and will be forwarded on to the faculty for review. The application review process will be completed by mid February, and you will be contacted then regarding the interview process.

Received rejection letter this morning. Look at the applyweb website and at the bottom, it should have a link to the official decision letter. Not sure if this applies to only those who were rejected, but I'd check it out anyways if I were you. Good luck!

I would assume this as well, based upon the information I received earlier about invites going out the end of January (for interviews the end of February). I was told they received ~370 applications and 10% will be offered an interview invitation.

Yea she said 5 positions are open and that we should def hear something within a week (latest 2 weeks) if we are to have a scheduled interview-- I can't take the wait!!

I was having issues with my application for ISU and was contacted last week. Seems the dept started reviewing applications last week at the latest so depending how long it takes them should be hearing soon

I got an invite via email last night so I think they are still in the process of sending out invitations.

Just received an email from the University of Denver's Clinical PsyD Invitation! So excited!

I think it's safe to say that Fordham's Clinical program has probably sent out all invitations at this point, since interviews start this week.... bummer 🙁
 
Hi guys. I just finished the pre-interview with my POI at Maryland-College Park. I was offered an in person interview immediately after. The formal interview day is Feb 17th though he mentioned the possibility for an alternative day depending on how many interviewees have a scheduling conflict.
