I submitted my secondary on the 26th and Rush hasn't downloaded my LORs yet. Should I call them or is this normal?

Everything else is as it should be (Paid/Citizenship/Sig form all in).

I submitted my app around 8/20 and it took over two weeks for mine to appear.

OOS Interview Invite! at 1:57 am... I'll take it!!!

Interview Invite!! What a great way to start the day!! 😀

Looking through this thread, I'm seeing that the consensus, in terms of interviews offered at this point in the season, is that it takes about 1.5-2 months for Rush to offer an interview. Izzat whas goin on?

OMG EVERYBODY PANIC.

Invite this morning. App complete July 30th.

For everyone waiting, good luck and just be patient 🙂

Rush, as I expected, put together a wonderful interview day. Everything about this school is impressive, and I'm really hoping to get an offer. :xf:

II this morning, as well! Complete 9/7 OOS.

Can't wait!

To you and PeterPesto I believe...We're you guys at Rush yesterday? My username should give you a hint of who I am =).

And yes. Rush surpassed all of my expectations which were the highest expectations of any medical school which I have applied to. Super informative admissions staff, professors, and students. One thing I noticed is that everyone who we had an opportunity to speak to, even those who just dropped by to say hi and were not scheduled, were consistent in what made Rush so great. Friendly, practical, and patient first is the way I'd sum it up. You heard about those 3 things I thousand times in different ways. Great school, exactly what I'm looking for in my medical education, number 1 choice.

Good luck to all who have applied!

It took like almost six months for them to offer me an interview. 😉

My friend from Loyola interviewed here recently with a 7 verbal. She received an overall average score for Rush and has an otherwise competitive application. She is worrying that even though she had good interviews, that Rush will not accept her despite being in one of the first interview groups. What do you guys think I should tell her? I mean she got an interview early so they must like her, but would a school bring her in this early just to reject her?

pretty much what you are thinking. If a school interviews you, they feel like they can accept you. It's up to you at that point to sell yourself and seal the deal.

I don't think a 7 in one section is a nail in the coffin especially for a school like Rush. From the other applicants which were at my interview date, its clear that Rush only interviews those who would truly consider attending Rush as well as be a good fit for Rush. As long as there are no other glaring holes in her application related to her academics, I would tell her that since her interview was so early in the cycle she's got a great shot!

I'm an M1 right now at Rush. Rush is one of the most selective schools in the country in regards to the number of applicants that are admitted (http://www.usnews.com/education/bes...-medical-schools-with-lowest-acceptance-rates) . If your friend received an interview, it is because the admissions staff truly is interested. I interviewed at a number of schools last year, and in retrospect, I feel that Rush was the only one who meant it when they said "we want to know your personality and see if you're the right fit." Be yourself and wow them! They're not looking to trip you up in the interviews.

Those of you who have not gotten interviews yet, don't fret. I was complete in Sept and didn't get offered an interview until Feb, and was accepted 2 weeks later.

As for the OOS question a bit back, yes it is very OOS friendly. I am OOS, and much of our class is OOS.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I, like every one of our students, love to talk about how much I love Rush!

Good luck to all those interviewing tomorrow, and those interviewing in the Wednesdays to come!

I have a quick question...soooo...filling out the secondary right now...how bad is it that you copied some of the stuff from primary as explanations for some of the questions...because honestly, my primary was as comprehensive as it can get...i really can't think of anything new to add...
thoughts??!

Those getting interviews, Would you mind sharing stats?

IS 31 MCAT; I submitted my secondary on August 5 and they received letters and everything was completed on August 22. I got the II on Sept. 23! Hope this helps!

Anyone know anything about post-interview acceptance rates?

:scared: :scared: :scared: anxiously awaiting my decision :scared: :scared: :scared:

Anyone completed in early October got an interview before the holidays?

Congratulations to all. For those who got interview invites, what was the address of your interview? I believe it was on the interview verificaton email that you got after you selected a time.

I was also invited for an interview, but can not access my email now. I did contact them for the address, but I figured someone on SDN would tell me; hopefully, with the right address 🙂

Room 531-Herrick of the Searle Conference Center, located at 1725 West Harrison Street, Professional Building II, 5th floor.

Thanks for the address, but looking at my internet history, I was searching for "1650 West Harrison." Maybe different locations for different interview dates?

I'm interviewing on October 26, so if anyone also interviewing on that date could give me an address, it would be well appreciated.

The 1650 and 1725 addresses will both bring you to the same place. Rush is absolutely huge and all of the buildings are interconnected. The 1725 address is at the entrance to the professional building I believe, and the 1650 address will take you into the Atrium building. The professional building can be reached through the Atrium but it can be difficult if you are not familiar with the hospital.

Best of luck!

Still hoping for an interview here :xf: One of my top choices for sure!

Thank you. I'm looking forward to visiting Rush. I felt a bit irresponsible for not printing out the email right away, but you live you learn. Rush does appear to be quite the popular school. Luckily, I was able to get an interview before November and December (i.e., The Holidays).

Good luck to everyone during this application cycle. I find the most frustrating part of this process to be the long wait from submission to acceptance or rejection. A whole year.

I wonder how likely it is that we will hear anything in the next 1-2 weeks. I remember them saying at *the latest* mid-November. :xf:

I really really really hope it is soon! My birthday is coming up soon and it would be an excellent bday present if I got an acceptance to here....Oh the top choice waiting woes...

To add onto this -- the walkways connecting the buildings are all located on the fourth floor of each building. There should be signs near major points of entry directing you where you need to go, but just in case, this map is pretty useful.

Good luck to everyone coming for interviews and those waiting to hear back!

Just got accepted!!! Woohoo!!!!! Email with a PDF document attached. Interviewed on sept 28th!!! More acceptances will be coming to you all, and interviews should be coming out as well!!! 😀

I wanted to note that the actual room number might be different (room 530 is also used for interviews) -- again, just follow the signs and you can't go wrong.

Nice! Congrats!

I immediately checked my email when I saw this but no luck for me yet (I interviewed on 10/5 I believe). Hopefully I won't be neurotically checking my email for the rest of the day 😳

Congrats! I interviewed shortly after you as well, and I didn't see anything either.

Thanks, I must say I almost got kicked out of the library when I opened the email! Don't worry this means that the acceptances are going to be raining down on a bunch of people, an I'm sure you guys will both feel the rain! 😉

ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye bye anxiety!!!!!!!!!!!
