I think this was in reference to myalias getting the email. But it does seem like a good sign. Either accepted or waitlisted, anything is better than rejection!

hey guys, i got waitlisted as well. Temple is the only school I'm waiting for the final result and I was wondering if I should submit my FAFSA no matter what.

Could anything negative happen on my side if I submit my FAFSA even though I don't matriculate to medical school? (which I really hope does not happen...)

I do not think anything negative could happen, but you could always call the financial aid office and ask. I believe most schools tell you to fill out the FAFSA even if you are wait listed.

Btw, when did you interview?
 
I agree with morethnblonde, nothing negative can come of it. The financial aid office will tell you the same thing, as they told us at the interview to get our taxes done and submit it even before hearing back. March 1st is quickly approaching. The earlier, the better so get it in buddy!

for some reason the financial aid office hasn't been answering my call yesterday and today. But I might as well file in my FAFSA then =)

I was interviewed 1/17/12, complete early August, and waitlisted two weeks ago. (the snailmail letter was written on 2/2/12)

Anyone know the last interview date? I received an II today but not sure whether it'd be for a waitlist spot at this point...

Congrats! I got an interview invite a couple weeks ago, the last date I was able to schedule for was March 6th (which was the one I took).
 
Does anyone when we can expect to receive our financial aid packages from Temple? I'm holding 2 acceptances, and knowing my exact tuition will definitely help me make a final decision. Also, does anyone know if scholarships are given with the financial package, or if they would have already been awarded?

I'm assuming it's sometime after March 1. The financial aid papers we got at our interview said you must submit FAFSA before March 1 for priority consideration, so I'm thinking they review everyone sometime after that.

I'm in a similar position, except I know my other school won't offer financial aid until April 🙁
 
interviewed 1/26 but status still at interview complete. keeping my fingers crossed...i'm still waiting on my first acceptance
 
I have refrained from habitually checking my status, but every time I see you or anybody from the week prior post on the Temple thread I can't help myself :laugh: Interviewed 2/2 and also have Interview Complete. Hang in there!! :xf:

Pre interview rejection..there done interviewing though so it was basically a silent rejection

I don't know about that. From Temple admissions' website:
"Interviews are held Tuesday through Thursday from September until April."
 
Did you guys who got rejections get an email, or did you just see when you checked your status?
 
Rejected. Don't feel too bad. They had 10,000+ applicants. At least 9600 of ya'll are in the same boat as I am 😀
 
is a continuing candidates list different from a waitlist? or are they the same thing?

I have not yet received a pre-interview rejection. Have any others survived this week's wave?
 
lol great point on the 9600 others bein in the same boat! haha U can count me in that boat, I was informed of the rejection via email.

At least you were accepted to your state school... Congrats, can't complain about that! I am still waiting on Temple for my first MD acceptance.

yep same boat. Interviewed 2/7 got waitlisted yesterday by snail mail. Sucks 🙁

Considering I'm still at interview complete, a waitlist seems inevitable. Not looking forward to checking the mail today 👎
 
Tell me about it... Another day without mail from Temple is a good day, though.

Edit: It's official... Just received waitlist letter in the mail, no status update. Super glad it wasn't a rejection letter.

Didn't receive my waitlist letter in the mail today. Damn it Temple, I want my waitlist letter!
 
Earlier in this thread someone mentioned that there isn't been much movement off the waitlist at all. Is this really the case? The letter leads me to believe that there will at least be some movement. I surely hope so!
