have been under review for 2 and half months. Is it pretty much over? have only gone to an interview at tech two weeks ago.

I have been under review for almost two months as well, so it's good to hear this is normal. Do they send pre-interview rejections, will my status change to rejected before December?
 
Just interviewed today here. Overall a positive experience, they really seem to illustrate the clinical opportunities available here with Scott & White Hospital. Talked to a 2nd year student who claims he got offers to every medical school in Texas but ultimately chose A&M because of the solid curriculum and core clinical experiences in Temple.

Does anyone know who a letter of interest should be addressed to?
 
For some reason, every time I try to access A & M's secondary website to check my status today, I get:
Bad Gateway


The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

I get this from the link I saved in my favorites AND when I go to A & M's website and click the secondary link there. I guess the site is just down?

Nevermind, it's working again today. Still "Under Review". *sigh*

Wait...A&M has a secondary ????? No wonder I wasn't getting an interview invite from them lolz 😛 oh well 😛

I hope you're joking... The deadline for the secondary application was October 1st...
 
hi guys, first post. has anyone been under "pending" for >4 weeks? i submitted on 9/9 and it is still pending...

Make sure that all your letters of recommendation, MCAT scores, transcripts, etc are in to TMDSAS. Also, did you pay the secondary fee? Cuz mine was pending until they processed my fee a week later (it says on the site that it takes them 5-10 business days to process the fee). If all of the above is taken care of, I would call the admissions office to see if they are missing anything.

Naa I filled out the secondary for southwestern a long time ago. Didn't really feel like spending money on the Tech secondary since I wasn't really interested in going there. oh and never applied to TCOM to begin with.

So you eliminated TTUHSC Lubbock and TCOM by choice, and Texas A &M by not doing the secondary? 3 schools down already. What are your stats, if you don't mind sharing??

Well 31R, 3.95 cGPA and 3.93 sGPA from Rice U. I've had interviews from UTMB, UTH, and UTHSCSA. Still waiting on Southwestern to show me some love. Probably will have to send them an update email sometime soon.

thanks for the reply! i contacted them via e-mail and it seems i really do just have to keep waiting! i don't really care as long as it gets reviewed, and they said they would! yay, yay :biglove: tamhsc tamhsc~~yay, yay :biglove:
 
Uhh.. so my application was "Under Review" and today it went back to "Pending"... is that a good thing or a bad thing? Did this happen to anyone else??

Mine just went from Under Review to Reply as well. I bet it's just an IT problem or something. I wouldn't freak out about it.
 
Still waiting for this school to give some kind of Pulse. Been under review for 25 days now.

i believe A&M is sending out the same amount of interview invites (~700) but they will be pretty conservative on handing out acceptances this year. It really depends on how fast Ms. Diaz and Mr. Maldonado gets to your file. They are the ones that decide on the interview invitations. If you think about it, 2,500-3,000 apps vs. 2 ppl. that's quite a daunting task and i'm sure they have other things to do as well. so the moral of the story is the same thing we've been hearing all season long: patience. :laugh:
 
Hey All! I am a M1 at A&M and would just like to say to all those who are still waiting to be patient!!! I did not get my invite her until late Oct/early Nov (after being complete since august!) if I can recall correctly. So there is still plenty of time left! As the poster above said...there are only two people reviewing applications and believe me they go through ALL the applications they receive to pick who they want to interview and it takes a while! Good luck to you all and if you have any questions send me a PM (I will most likely respond faster since that goes to my email).

It is reassuring to hear that people who submitted so early are still receiving invites. I submitted around the same time as you and have similar stats. Haven't heard from this school yet... which is unfortunate as I even have family in Bryan/CS.

Thanks guys. I think you have a good shot in SA Morz. This was the last school I expected to hear from. Just goes to show you never know. I have only received two invites total, but for me that's piling it up (only one last year)! Especially since I had 0 a week or two ago and had nearly lost hope this cycle.
 
Among the Texas schools, which one is better, UT Southwestern or Baylor?

There are a couple of profiles of "medical student", "resident" etc status accounts asking very basic questions or open-ended ones like that which they should know if they were actually medical students or residents (e.g. "when do Texas schools start accepting applicants?"). I suspect that these are profiles created by the DMN troll who is trying to increase the post-count of those accounts before they continue the DMN-trolling on the UTSW thread so they appear more legitimate and aren't banned by the moderators right away because of the low post count. (Just IMO, speculation.)

So, I somehow missed the memo that TAMHSC, UT San Antonio, and Texas Tech in Lubbock require statistics. (I know, irresponsible. They didn't used to require it!) Anyway, I'm taking it next semester, but I didn't indicate that on my TMDSAS because it was a change in plans. Should I go ahead and send update emails to those schools that require it? I've gotten interviews at San Antonio and Tech, but not at A&M.

If so, who should I send it to, and should I include any other information besides "I wanted to update you on the courses that I will be taking next semester" or "I wanted to let you know that I have added a 3 hour Statistics course to my course load for next semester in order to fulfill the Statistics requirement at Texas A&M HSC School of Medicine." ?
 
Anymore II? Getting more nervous the later it gets into the season
