So again I am not sure, but I think it means 164 accepted and there are 30 deferals on top of that. I think deferrals will definitely go, since it's policy that you can't apply to other schools during a deferred year.

Quick clarification question on the wait list, especially because it seems like A&M will use it a lot this year! Say I rank A&M #1 but match to my #2 instead. If I'm waitlisted at A&M, there is a period of time during which I could still get an offer at A&M and be able to take it instead of my #2 school spot right?

Could anyone tell me from their acceptance packet (I haven't received mine yet) what kind of grades Texas A&M wants accepted students to make the semester before medical school? Is it something specific or does it just say to do well?

It's not much of a packet. Just the same acceptance form you got via email wih your prematch and signed to hold your spot. I think there's a clause about grades on it.
So on the form it says
".1. ..Completing satisfactorily (with no grade below a "C") the prerequisite courses;..
2. ..Maintaining high levels of academic performance in all courses undertaken between the date of application and matriculation;"
My pre-med adviser said you need to get similar grades as you were getting prior to being accepted.

So I am getting the impression that some people's statuses changed from Interviewed to Under Review? Is it possible the schools already know the match results?
According to this year's forum, people who were accepted through a pre-match offer had their statuses changed to Accepted (and then a few days later it changed to Under Review). However, it is unclear if there were any other changes before it was changed to Accepted.
According to last year's forum, people accepted through a pre-match offer had their statuses changed to Under Review. It did not discuss anything regarding status changes for those accepted through the match.

Mine say "Under review" too.
Don't lose your hope. It could be that we are the ones out of luck and you are alright. Just saying.

Never interviewed at UTSW despite being in their range of numbers for interviews at the end of the cycle
. I was stuck between here and Houston. Same STEP 1 scores the past years. "More" opportunities for clinical at A&M from my perspective. Already at A&M . TAMHSC COM is offering me a hefty scholarship as well so im pretty much "sold" here. Still waiting on a couple OOS schools but if by march no news im here

Sorry, didn't mean it in a mean way at all. The truth is that no one knows with certainty what any of this means. We will all find out soon.

Alright I got the acceptance letter last night. I am back to Aggieland M.D. Class of 2016. It's kinda weird how they sent me the letter right before match day. Anyways, time to relax now before hell open its gate. Good luck with everyone!! Gig'em!!
By the way, my status still says "Interviewed".

I didn't get pre-matched. I just got the regular mail acceptance letter last night. and my status on bamf still says Interviewed.

I've talked to a couple of people who also got an acceptance package yesterday. Their application status is also "interviewed". So I guess I'm out of luck.

I thought they weren't supposed to accept again until the match? Last year, A & M messed up the match by over-filling their class. This year, they do it by disregarding the TMDSAS traffic rules and sending out acceptance packets early.
I checked the mail but it hasn't come yet! I wonder about those of us who haven't received anything but bamf status still says Interviewed.
Oh wow. That makes things interesting. I think I'll just go to bed and make tomorrow come quickly. We should have all the answers by then. What a mess!

I didn't prematch either, but my bamf status says interviewed. Also, no packages in the mail (I checked). This is going to be a long night. *Sigh*

Sure is kind of weird that they sent out letters before the match....I thought that was a TMDSAS fopaux, especially after last years SNAFU you would think that they would be following all the "guidelines" to the letter. {strange} I guess the answer will come soon enough...Good luck to everyone.
