AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I MADE IT!!!!!!! After so many years of hard work, I made it into medical school!!!! There's no feeling like it 😀😀😀😀😀

TAMHSC COM Class of 2016!!

Yes! I matched at 8.00am!

YAY that's great, CONGRATS!!! I'm assuming I am waitlisted at this point, but still hoping I am low enough on the list to get in. Thankful I at least have a school to go to at this point, counting my blessings!

+1. Hoping I'm low enough on the wait list to still get in, A&M was my #1, but thankfully I still got into a school. Anyone know if A&M releases their wait list like some other schools or let you know your chances if you call and ask?

Just matched in this morning, second choice, but first in my heart now.

My opinion on why some people got acceptance packages already is they are the ones who ranked A&M number one, and so, when A&M knew they were already coming via getting access to match lists early, they went ahead and sent out the packages.

Btw my status is still interview as well, but my TMDSAS status is definitely not:
TEXAS A&M HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER COLLEGE OF MEDICINE CLASS OF 2016!!!!!

I actually ranked them # 1 too, but I did not receive the admissions packet. You should check the bamf status now, it says accepted! 🙂

Congratulations to both of us!!!

Same for me. My #1, matched with A&M, but nothing in the mail yet! Hoping it comes today! WHOOP!!!!!!!!!

~The Proudest Fightin Texas Aggie MD Class of 2016!!

Guess my hypothesis was incorrect. But I just checked the BAMF status and it indeed, has changed to ACCEPTED and I got the email packet from Lela. On a side note, if anyone knows what the alternate meaning of BAMF is (urban) thats what I feel like right now.

Congrats Neuroscientist, and everyone else who matched, and good luck to those still waiting, there is still time.
LOL, We're all BAMFs! =D

But did you guys also Pre-match to A&M and rank them #1? My revised hypothesis is that the pre-matchees that ranked them #1 got the packet, but idk and idc that much, cause we're in!
Nope, didn't pre-match!

Congrats to all those that matched here. Cant wait to meet all of yall in the summer 😉

enjoy the rest of the year until then! Welcome to the Aggie Family! I couldnt get enough so im back for 4 more years

Ahhhhhhhh i got in!!!!!!!!!!!! =D =D =D =D

Congrats to everyone that got in today! If you didn't, like I said early, its not over till the wait list closes on June 15th or somewhere around there. I can truly say I am really happy to be an M1 at A&M.

One piece of advice: have as much fun as you can before med school starts, you will be happy you did 🙂 🙂

Matched here this morning. Super excited. 😀 Somehow it feels weird to be done with the waiting game. What do I do now???

Hee Hee just checking out my new signature 😀

Congrats, y'all! Welcome future Aggie Docs!!

MSIII here, and in addition to congratulating you guys, I wanted to let you guys know of my condo I'm selling first before I put it on the market. It'll be perfect for anyone who will be doing 4 years in CS. Or 2 years in CS and then who want to keep it as a rental property. Private message me if you're interested, and I can send you the flyer...2 br/2.5 baths in a gated community.

Also, feel free to ask me any questions about the Dallas program -- I'm part of the first group of 24 students that are doing their clinical years there.

Congratulations again! You're going to be a doctor!!!

Congrats, y'all! Welcome future Aggie Docs!!

Thank you! I am considering buying a condo, too, but I am not sure which campus I will be assigned yet. I was actually going to ask you about the BCS-Dallas 2+2 program since I am from Dallas, and would love to return home for the clinical years. I know that the program is very competitive, but would strong family ties be taken into consideration when assigning campuses to students?

If you do not match here, do you receive official notice that you are on the waitlist or do just wait and hope that you are on the waitlist and that you will be accepted (either way you hope and wait to be accepted)?

I was wondering the same thing.

Hi, I was also just accepted for the upcoming class. I had a question to any of you, especially former UT students, about the Statistics requirement. They might not accept the Statistics that I am currently taking because it is called "Elementary" Statistics. But I can't seem to find a course at UT in the Math department that is called statistics, without "Elementary" in the title. Which course did any of you take to fulfill this requirement? Any help is appreciated. They say it has to be in the Math or Physics department.

Hey there, just a warning, I haven't been accepted to A&M, however, I did graduate from UT in May and had similar questions which I asked the Health Professions office (http://cns.utexas.edu/careers/health-professions/). I claimed Elementary Statistical Methods (M316) and was told by the adviser that it fulfilled the Texas Medical schools pre-med statistics requirement. Now that was a year ago, so you may go back and ask an adivisor there and/or an admissions officer at A&M. Hope that helps!

Got campus selection email. Come on Dallas Bryan!

I haven't received that email yet. When is the deadline?

I did not match with A&M and I did not graduate from UT, but I took Biostatistics during undergrad, and when I asked the admissions office about the statistics requirement, I was told to provide a letter from my university's math department (stating that biostats was equivalent to regular statistics), the syllabus for the course, and my grade in the class. The office takes this information and I believe Mr. Maldonado is the one that decides if the course satisfies the pre-req requirement. Hope this helps. 🙂

Also, word on the street is that wait list comes out Feb. 15. Can anyone confirm this?

Alternate list. Anyone else?

same here👍👍

Anyone have a clue how long the alternate list is? (based on past years?)...also, any way to find out where you are on the list?...I'm guessing they don't release that, but figured I ask

Also, I'm guessing since the deadline for turning in alternate list acceptance is Feb. 15th, people won't start being accepted off the list until after then?

Congrats to all those that got matched.

I WISH I WAS FROM TEXAS!!!

Could anyone shed some light on how the OOS acceptances are granted with A&M?

Sorry guys... can anyone give any info on the campuses to help me make my decision btw them? Bryan will definitely be my first choice for the first 2 years for logistical reasons but so clinicals I'm open to suggestion....

There are online graduate level statistics courses offered by Texas A&M - http://www.stat.tamu.edu/dist/content_link.php?page=ndapp2

Yes, the program has gotten very competitive. Since my class (2013) was the first, there wasn't too much competition since many classmates were worried about being the guinea pigs. However, after hearing how great the program is, the class of 2014 had about 65 people apply for 24 spots. Having strong family ties will definitely be taken into consideration, but I can't promise that there won't be 24 (they may take more) other people who have that same reason. Don't stress (easier for me to say, I know!) though -- all clinical campuses are great.

How many people matched here? I was under the assumption that there were only going to be 6-7 people.. but there has to have been more, right?

Me too, wondering the same things!

A comprehensive review of each campuses/track options would be great right now. Anyone has any input?

I'm sure there were a lot more people matched. Definitely in the double digits range!

Yes, probably much more than 6-7 matched...of the # of pre-match admission offers, a lot of them probably matched to other schools.

Had they ALL accepted their pre-match offer (unlikely), then there would have only been 6-7 spots...

Ok... I'm new to facebook so I have a question about the class fbgroup. If I join the group will non-members (ie my family and friends) see my posts? I guess I just don't want my wall clogged up by my rants/ complaints 😀 Is the whole point of the group to allow us to post and only have us see posts and comments?

I noticed that the other location for clinical rotation is corpus and houston.. so if are interested in doing that.. how does it work? I didn't see those options in the e-mail as a location we could rank.
Thanks!

So from the rest of the interviewees who did not pre-match/match to Texas A&M, is it a select number that get on the waitlist?

So did anyone else go from "accepted" to "under review" after submitting their campus preferences form? I'm sure that I'm just being paranoid, but it would be good to know that I'm not alone.
