Still nothing since submitting my secondary. Not even a "your app is complete" message and it's been months and months 🙁 Silent rejection, probably. Should I call and demand an official rejection letter? Surely my app fee was worth at least that. lolz.

Same here. I have been complete since mid august. NJMS doesn't send out "your app is complete" emails.

According to this calender http://njms.umdnj.edu/admissions/prospective/interview/scheduler.cfm?year=2012&month=1, they might send out few more interview invites this month.

Anyone who interviewed in mid november still waiting to hear back?
I interviewed 11/8 and when I called to see what the deal was they said i was on hold which means they reviewed me, and neither waitlisted nor accepted me. I wasn't sure whether to be happy or sad. I guess ill be reviewed again sometime

Thats exactly what I was told. They said they want to interview all of the remaining applicants and then make a final decision at once. So for now, they are holding back on making some decisions. Its not the best of odds but its better than a waitlist I guess :xf::luck:

I emailed the admissions office about the waitlist. They said,

" In the recent past there has been an Alternate list and priority Alternate list. However, this year I believe there is only one list."

I have my interview at NJMS coming up and I was hoping someone could give me information on what to expect. I am also doing the student interview. What questions should I be prepared for and what questions should I be asking? Also, what are the main distinctions between UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson and UMDNJ NJMS? I only received an interview invite from NJMS and not Robert Wood Johnson. Thanks!

Does this school provide any info on the status of the application? I finished the app back in July and have updated them a few times but havent heard back from them one way or another ...

You have to call the admissions office. They don't send out e-mails or anything. I've been complete since September and I haven't heard anything. I'm a GSBS student right now so maybe they're still waiting for more grades? In any case I'm going to focus on the next cycle. Sigh.. I already got accepted to UMDNJ SOM but that's so far away in the middle of nowhere.

Accepted here on Tuesday. SO excited, feels like a dream.
Interviewed 11/30.
Good luck to everybody waiting for an acceptance.

Hi everyone!

I'm relatively new on these forums. I just got an interview invitation last Friday. Interviewing on Feb. 21.

Would anyone be willing to share interview experiences, questions, etc? I would love to hear them. NJMS is my #1 choice (I live 20 min. away at home).

Who cares that it's in the middle of nowhere?! You're going to be spending the majority of your time studying anyway. You're willing to give up an acceptance and go through this process all over again?!

anyone else still waiting to hear back?

I am also still waiting. I dont know what theyre waiting for.

I think they have already accepted enough people to fill their incoming class, at least that is what Dean Heinrich mentioned at the accepted students luncheon about a month ago. He said that if anyone had any friends that weren't accepted yet to contact him. From what I've heard, Dean Heinrich likes to know you are still interested in NJMS, so I don't think it would hurt to contact him. Plus, you might find out what's going on with your application...

How exactly does one contact Dean Heinrich?

email him he usually replies the same day. I hope to hear soon I have a lot riding on this. Good luck to everyone! 😀

Just got an interview invite! I'm going to have it on the 21st. At this point we're just interviewing for waitlist spots right?

Just got put on "priority" alternate list. Obviously not what I was hoping for, but an interesting development nonetheless. Any insight into what my chances are and what I can do to increase them?

I thought they took out the priority list this cycle? That's really good though that you got on it since you'll be considered first before everyone else. As to what the chances are it seems to change year to year for this school.

Hey! I'm interviewing that day!!! What time is your interview? And I don't think we're just interviewing for waitlist spots.

Hey. I'm interviewing at 10 AM and then I have a student interview at 11 AM. I don't think I'm going on the tour though since I'm a grad student there lol.

Same exact schedule for me too. I'm going to apply to their Master's program also if I don't get into medical school this time around. This school is my #1 choice!

Yeah the program is really nice if you want to go to the school since you can take all of the first year medical school courses (except anatomy for obvious reasons). And if you do well you can get exempt once you get into the school lol. Also the clinical exposure is one of the best. Good luck!

Just had the interview today. It was really relaxing and not pressuring at all. I don't find out until 8 weeks though apparently lol 🙁

Dude congratulations on your interview.......wishing you the best on the decision.

Nice seeing you yesterday ravupadh!

I was told 5-6 weeks...Are you put off by the fact that you interviewed late? The faculty member I interviewed with mentioned something about it being late in the season and I'm not sure if he was trying to understand why it's so late or what...

Thanks DrDjballersquad!

And nice seeing you too yesterday KnifeofIce! I kind of had no choice but to interview this late because they don't interview graduate students until the fall semester grades are in. My interviewer said the wait is long because they are waiting for people to withdraw and also waiting to accept more 7 year BS/MD candidates. But he did say that people have gotten accepted as late as July and one girl even got off the waiting list the first day of classes for the last cycle. So I'm going to just try and be persistent and update the school on my new grades, activities, etc. Good luck!

Anyone still waiting to hear back from November or December?

Anyone still waiting to hear back from November or December?

I interviewed in December and recently found out I am on the "priority" waitlist. I am kind of confused because it doesn't seem like they have released the final round of acceptances / waitlists yet. Did anyone else get on this priority list? Good luck everyone still waiting to hear!

has anyone heard back from interviewing the week of jan 20??

Interviewed Feb. 16th...alternate waitlisted by email. Does NJMS have more than one wait list?

Interviewed 2/2, put on the Priority Alternate list 3/7.
I know they don't start accepting people from the Priority Alt. List till the summer, but does anyone know how many people generally get accepted from this purgatory?

I was interviewed in early February and they said it's kind of a red flag at this point for interviews. I assume since I haven't heard of any acceptances for people interviewing after Jan 1st that they're just filling the wait list at this point.

KnifeofIce,
I am a recent graduate of the GSBS at UMDNJ (July 2011). I can tell you the program was a great experience as I was able to take the first year medical school course called Molecular & Genetic Medicine (1st Fall semester course in Biochem., Genetics & Molecular Bio.). You also have the option to take Physio in the Spring with the med students as well. I finished with a 3.83 GPA and was wait listed just now. It's a great thing to do but it doesn't directly translate into an acceptance. Make sure you have all other areas of concern met as well since something else could be holding you back.

LETMEIN2012,

Thank you so much for the advice! I really want to do the program. If you're willing to tell, I was wondering if you could tell me what areas they are really looking for. A 3.83 GPA and waitlist? That sounds ridiculous if you ask me 🙁

Just withdrew my acceptance here, hope one of you on the waitlist hears good news soon!:xf:

Placed on the Priority Waitlist here yesterday. Don't know what to make of it

Congrats to all those who got in! I was just wondering if some of the people who got in could post their stats (GPA and MCAT) so that I could know if I had a shot of getting in 🙂
