Accepted!! I love this school! 😍

Interviewed on 10/11.

Up until what interview date were there people receiving the recent under review email ?

Just got the acceptance call as well! There was no email, which I noticed many people wondering about. I am not sure if some get emails and others get calls and still others get both...but I only got a call.

If you're waiting post-interview and haven't heard anything, I will agree with previous posters who said that's good because it seems most people who get the acceptance call don't get an email. Just pure speculation here, however.

Also, I interviewed on 9/19 so I got the call at right about the 7-week mark, as predicted in the whole 6-8 wait time.

Good luck, everyone!

That's my day, too.... no email. GAHH THE STRESS!!!

Interview coming up here...kind of worried about how I will do for the short (or long) "grilling" session! Any tips on handling these types of difficult questions? Are the questions mostly uniform or is it very interviewer dependent?

On the longer interview, does the interviewer have access only to the AMCAS? As in no secondary, LORs, etc.

Also, it seems that people have a lot of downtime in the morning. What do people usually do during this time?

Thanks!

I agree with above, the second interview was not stressful, and my interviewer made it feel much more conversational.

I am pretty sure my long interviewer only had my AMCAS. We only talked about things on my application for half the time though and then talked about everything from books to living in Nashville, was very relaxed/fun.

During the downtown, I walked around with other applicants to see the rest of the campus.

I don't think there's a method to this whole e-mail business. I got accepted today with the e-mail on Friday. So did someone else. This will be my only post with this account, but I thought I would put this up here to clear up confusion. I will not be posting any other info.

No email, no waitlist letter, no acceptance call. 😕 That puts me in some kinda purgatory...

I hate this situation that we share. Vandy should learn from the Catholics and make purgatory not exist anymore 🙂

Congratulations to all that were accepted - welcome to Vanderbilt!!!

And for those who are still waiting to hear back, just keep patient! Regarding those emails, in my experience Vandy is pretty straightforward and I really do think admissions is just trying to keep y'all in the loop on your status.

I agree with what Takk said. Don't lose hope and if you're really interested in Vandy, please don't hesitate letting the committee know by sending update letters!

Rejected post-interview. Upset about it, but all is not lost for me. Best of luck to everybody!

How did they tell you, email or letter? Did you get the email last Friday?

Got the news via US Mail. I didn't get that e-mail, probably because my decision letter was already in the mail, or at least ready to go.

I didn't think they rejected post-interview either, but IIRC they interview something like 1,000 people, so I guess it makes sense.

Got the active review email on Friday, no call of acceptance, and no letter of waitlist/rejection. I wonder where that leaves me! I interviewed on September 23rd so the 8-week window is coming up!

I'm in the same situation; I interviewed on September 20th.

Me too! Interviewed the 19th. I keep checking my mail hoping that a letter is NOT present (I think we're getting to the end of a possibly mailed window... a letter from TN would have gotten here by now...know on wood).

For everyone who has interviewed, good luck!

would y'all mind sharing some of the questions asked during the short interview session? I'm a bit nervous about the short rapid fire question session

That's definitely nerve-racking. Have you called the office to ask what the deal is?

Do they look down on you if you call? What exactly does one ask? "Hi, I'm so and so and I interviewed over 8 weeks ago and haven't gotten a decision, could you please tell me where I stand?"?

Check out the interview feedback... all of the psychoanalysis questions are from the short interview.

I'm actually not sure about that. I haven't called anywhere personally, but I know that applicants do it all the time. I read earlier in this thread that an applicant called Vandy in regards to her status and he/she was accepted a week later. Maybe it shows that you are very interested in the school?

Wow. I got the active review email so I just figured that was their way of telling me they couldn't decided in the normal time frame and I'd have to keep waiting. I hadn't called. Never actually called a school for anything like that. Seems like they would get a lot and it'd get annoying. After hearing this though, maybe I'll give them a call today or tomorrow. If I do, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

They may be out for Veteran's Day tomorrow.

You guys got nothing on me. Interviewed 8/16 and got the active review, but nothing else

So... here is my optimistic explanation to our predicament....

Since we are outside of the time that a rejection letter would have taken to get to us, it must be that they are simply stuck in deciding how much money to give us in scholarships 🙂

...a guy can hope... 🙂

They didn't mention a thing in the letter or call about the scholarship tho...😕

Very possible. Good call.

I like the way you're thinking

WHOOAAAA. I'm never supposed to have class on my birthday. It's like, a national holiday and stuff. Though I will still consider Vandy if offered a spot, lol. I heart Vandy!

Really? I've always had class on Veterans Day.

And Happy Birthday! :hardy:

I have an interview coming up soon but I will no longer be able to make that date due to not being able to drive my car anymore...does anyone know how receptive Vanderbilt is to trying to reschedule/postpone an interview?

No idea, but I would just call them on Monday - no harm in asking! I imagine that people reschedule and cancel interviews all the time (or at least I did when I was applying to schools last year...🙂)

Interview tomorrow, eeek!

Good luck! I enjoyed the Vanderbilt interview day. The campus was impressive and the students seemed down to earth.

On another note, I see that this Sunday passed without acceptance calls. Does this mean that those who interviewed in August or mid-September like me will have to wait another few weeks to find out what Vandy wants to do with us? Ughhhh this waiting is torture!

Hopefully it's one more week and not "another few weeks" :xf:
