Congrats Dr Callis!
I got the call earlier today too, and am still in a bit of shock. This definitely is moving Vandy up in my considerations.

Congratulations on the scholarship--that's amazing!
 
+3 on money-calls this week! my friend also missed a vandy call yesterday. He called back today and got a scholarship too! It seems the vandy movement has started :luck:
 
Now you guys should all withdraw so I can get accepted AND get some of that scholarship money :meanie:

WHoa, just checked out your MDapps, you should go ahead and withdraw from the other 9 schools and make 9 patiently waiting applicants happy with those spots :idea:

I got super excited when I read your post, but then checked the MDapps and noticed none of those schools are the ones I'm waiting for :laugh:

:laugh: just hang-on, the closer to may 15th we get, the more spots will start to open up!

Haha these are great! I've been following this thread for a while, but my first time posting. Interviewed 1/26 and waitlisted 3/9. Anyone know how much movement the waitlist has seen in years past? I grew up in Nashville and have strong ties to Vandy so it's definitely my top choice, especially now since my girlfriend is starting PA school at Trevecca this year.

Is Hopkins still in the running? I'm trying to decide between Vandy and Johny and would like to know any of your thought process. I'm slightly bitter both second looks are the same weekend. Lame.
 
So what's the deal, do we expect any movement on the waitlist? Or do we have any idea how long the list is?

I am still thinking about Hopkins, but am leaning heavily towards Vanderbilt. I am going to both Second Looks - Hopkins on Thursday and Friday and Vandy on Saturday. Hopkins has always been my dream school, and I fell even more in love on interview day. However, I did not receive much financial aid, so going to Hopkins would mean $300,000+ in debt versus very little debt at Vanderbilt. I like that students at Vandy are more relaxed and the campus is beautiful! I've also talked to a number of Vandy students and professors who convinced me that the curriculum changes will go smoothly. PM me if you want to talk more details! It is a very hard decision.
 
Is there any body who got 100% tuition scholarship instead of 75% ?

I don't remember anyone on SDN reporting a 100% ride, but a couple 75% for sure

True. I know 3 people with 75%, 2 people with 100%... Yet, I'm still hoping for a scholarship myself🙁
 
Just got awarded 75% tuition merit scholarship!!!

I'm wondering the same thing. I think I remember hearing somewhere that out of students interviewed, Vandy accepts around 25%, waitlists 50% and rejects 25%. I have no source for that, but if it's true than the waitlist could be pretty big until May 15th.
 
My financial aid here was awful. 🙁 I'm withdrawing my name from Vanderbilt. Good luck to those on the waitlist!

Me too, I'm really dreading withdrawing as I love vandy. There will be another spot and scholarship available once I get up the nerve :scared:

Nothing here yet. Checked the thread from last year and most waitlist movement didn't happen till mid-May to mid-June. Definitely hoping to hear soon! This process has been way too long and drawn out. I've been at UT-Memphis since late Dec. but holding out on Vandy this whole time. Hopefully I can still find a roommate for UT if I need to come mid-June. Otherwise if I go to Vandy I can live at home and save moolah at least for the first year 😀
 
Hello!

Once accepted, what do we need to do to "secure" our spots (besides accepting the offer online)? there was no deposit to pay...hehe i went to the second look and loved vandy and i think i'm going there for sure...
 
Hey, I was wondering the same thing. I don't believe we have to do anything but send in an official transcript (directly to them) and get the healthcare squared away. Second look was incredible!
 
Did they send us the healthcare thing? I don't remember receiving anything about it.
 
Withdrawing from the waitlist. It's been a long hard slog with Vandy, but it's that time when I have to commit to someplace and start getting settled, so I'm going to have to let this one go.

At second look, we were told that VUSM accepted 280 students for approx. 125 seats. I do not think that there will be a whole lot of wait list movement. With sadness, I have withdrawn from VUSM even though I know that many of the accepted students are well balanced and incredibly talented. I wish all of you the best at a very good institution.
 

Hey, I am going to be a first year at VUSM. I am looking toshare a 2br/2ba apartment with another female. The rent would be between $700-850per month. The apartments I am looking at are remodeled, have washer/dryer in theunit, have fireplaces, and are within walking distance to campus. If you areinterested please PM me.

Seems like its all quiet on the Vandy front. Or maybe just no SDNers are hearing back yet. Should pick up sometime soon :xf:
