Congrats to all the applicants that have been accepted. I am hoping to apply for the next application period. For the admitted applicants, if you dont mind would you share your Undergraduate GPA and MCAT score?

It is really quiet in here. Does that mean they are done giving out interview invites?

Also, I am confused, I thought I read somewhere that interview invites are given by a phone call but my complete email says that notification is done through USPS.

I may have to call here and Howard because I haven't heard anything. I don't want to come off as over zealous or desperate.

I have been completed since late August and have not heard back. They say I am still under review. During undergrad the pre-health advisors say to apply early. I see people in different threads who applied super early as well and have not heard back. The application process seems very random, you never know what the admissions board is looking for at any given moment.

Just wanted to throw out there that morehouse has a very small entering class.. about 65 and they probably have filled many seats and will accept folks as students decline

hey does anyone know if the photo is required for the interview?

I read that they send it out my USPS as well, but when I spoke with a 1st year student there recently she also told be they would call invited applicants... so I am a bite confused on the actual notification method.

It makes more sense that it would be a phone call. USPS could take awhile and if it went to someone's parents it would take even longer to get the interview scheduled. USPS must be the method if they decide not to interview.

anyone know when they're going to send out the next batch of interviews?

Just got my interview invitation today by phone for this Friday.

Haven't heard a peep. All I got was an email saying that I would receive my admission's decision in the snail mail. And that was months ago. Maybe I should call??:scared:

Did you already interview?

If so, I'm in a similar boat.
I interviewed in October & got an email around Thanksgiving saying my app was still under review. I called early Jan and was told the adcom was meeting that day & I will be notified via postal mail. Since nothing came in the mail, I called last week & was told I should be receiving an email. Still nothing yet. I don't really know what to think & I bet they are sick of having me call them.

That is a long time to wait. My past two interviews at other schools said 2-3 weeks before we know. Never knew some schools have people waiting for months post-interview. Not cool.

Received an interview invite yesterday for the 22nd of February.

Congrats to all those who have recently been accepted to the amazing Morehouse School of Medicine. I'm a current 1st year student and I love it here!! I just wanted to let you all know that I created a facebook group for your class, so please join if you have been accepted! Good luck to those who are still waiting to here back!

Did you hear anything yet? My friend got an email today saying the same thing about being under review. When I called they said that final decisions will be made at the end of March and letters will go out in April.

Has anyone gotten accepted since 2013?

Yes, I received my letter yesterday!

got the acceptance letter yesterday as well. Interviewed this year

In all honesty stats are not important for Morehouse. The first year students that I met there told me the same. Morehouse cares for the investment they are going to make on you and if they can see that you got what it takes. I think more medical schools should be like this because there are a lot of deserving people that have what it takes and have the drive, but just don't have the stats. Those are my two cents and best of luck to any other people still waiting on a response.

I received my letter on 2/15 also! I interviewed on jan 11. will be matriculating! :)

Does Morehouse only respond to emails because I called and could not speak with anyone on Thursday? I am starting to lose patiences with this school. I was interested in their program but will withdraw my app next Friday, if I don't hear anything.

Good luck to the rest of you applicants and congrats to all the acceptees and recent invitees!:luck:

Should I assume all the interview invites have gone out?

I may be mistaken but I think the last interviews are in march

No, they plan on interviewing people until March. They're increasing the class size this year and want to be sure to give qualified candidates a shot.

I called admissions today and was told they are still reviewing applications and will most likely interview until April. They have sent out lots of rejection letters already he said as well, so if you haven't got one yet then you are still in the running.

Thanks for calling. :) That is good news, I thought it was all over for me but there is still a little hope.

I am writing a pre-interview update/interest letter. Does anyone know where to send it? Either by email or regular mail? Thanks and good luck to those who are still waiting!

Hey everyone,

just wanted your opinion on my chances still. I've already been accepted at a school so I am more than thankful. But Morehouse and Howard remains my top choices because of its social mission and its history in producing leaders who fight for social justice. I've submitted my application in June but still have not heard back from Morehouse. My stats are 27R, 3.6 cgpa and 3.8 sgpa. I know that my mcat score isn't great but I'm huge on the social mission. Coming from a low income community, I aspired to serve in specifically underprivileged communities so I got my masters in education and taught 9th grade algebra at a high school in south central los angeles for a year. Currently tutoring chemistry, biology, anatomy, and math at a community college also located in the same neighborhood where many of my students are single parent aspiring nurses.

I'm sure many applicants are kind of in the same state of limbo - the waiting game. I've emailed Mr. Brandon Hunter and Dr. Anachebe here and there to ask for the status of my application in addition to expressing a continued interest despite already being accepted into another school. But their response has been that they are still reviewing my application. So, I just wanted to ask others who are in the same boat, at this point, should I just consider it a silent rejection? I know that many people are killing for one acceptance and so I am soooo grateful for mine. But if I can choose, I would want to spend the next four years studying medicine with like minded people, people who are doing this for the most marginalized and disadvantaged communities. Also, wanted to add in I'm Chinese-American. I know the school embraces diversity but I don't know if this plays a role this late in the application cycle with Morehouse being a HBCU. Thanks everybody and good luck!

Does Morehouse have a Neurosurgery program? I'm really interested in Neurosurgery and would like to do research.

Dont post too often, but a huge lurker!

For those that have been accepted or current students, any ideas on places to live? Also has anyone thought of buying a condo? I'm wondering if you buy before school starts will it impact the ability to get student loans for school.

Thanks!

They're still reviewing your application this late in the game? That's what they told me months ago and I haven't heard anything since. I just assumed I was rejected silently.

I emailed Brandon, asking him if I have been rejected, and he replied saying that they are still screening my application for a possible interview and if my status changes I will be notified by email.

+ 1. I thought this was hope but I'm starting to think they placed my app to the side and will probably never review it.
