Sorry to hear about everyone's rejections. I haven't heard anything since submitting my secondary in August. Not sure what that means...

My friend got it today and forwarded it to me. She and I have been through and through with each other over this process, it's been a loooong 8 months!

I regret to inform you that you will not be offered a place at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for the upcoming year. Please appreciate the fact that we received a large number of highly qualified applicants for a limited number of seats in our class. These decisions are difficult to make because of the sheer number of impressive applicants.

I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors and we hope for you much success in your professional life. Thank you genuinely for your interest in our school.

Sincerely,

Valerie Parkas, MD
Associate Dean for Admissions

Ah I see, sorry to those receiving this email...at least this sounds better than UPenn's rejection statement haha

Didn't get the rejection email either yet, but I thought interviews were done?

Has Mount Sinai sent any other emails, other than the first "you have successfully submitted your online application to the MD Program..." one, pre-interview? I didn't receive an email from another school (no emails in spam/trash) and am wondering if this is also happening with Mount Sinai (just waiting for that rejection!)

That's the only email I've gotten from them. I've sent in an update recently and I didn't get a response either. This seems to be normal with MSSM.

missed another round of rejections. I'm sure mine is coming up soon though...

Rejected too. Wasn't expecting anything though...

I submitted mine 8/17, so I find it hard to believe that they haven't gotten to mine yet. But who knows...

Complete 9/22 here. Maybe this is good news for us 3? (Or I spoke too soon and we all get rejections tmr) Either way, crossing fingers. Good luck!

Hey what's going on in this threa-----

Uh oh.

Complete sometime in August or September with not a word since, looks like the rejection is on its way soon.

Received a pre-interview rejection via email yesterday. Applied in August. According to my conversation with Icahn admissions a couple of weeks ago, they are interviewing until the first week of March, so most of you will find out your fate soon enough.

I was complete in early October, and I haven't heard anything either. Applying to med school is oh so mysterious.

congrats! when are they scheduling interviews for at this point?

Pre-interview rejection from Icahn School of Medicine. Confused before I realized that it was Mt. Sinai.

For those of you who had interviews in the beginning of January, has anyone heard back yet? I hate this waiting game! :scared:

Sorry to hear about the rejections everyone 🙁

For those of us waiting to hear, is there any way to check your status online?

i wonder if we're on some sort of waitlist for interview invites if we haven't been rejected yet...

Can current students please shed some light on the quality of life in Aron Hall? Obviously in NYC pests are abound, but how bad are they in Aron Hall? Are roaches, waterbugs, mice, etc a big problem? There was a specific FAQ question regarding pests in the housing packet, so that is why I ask. BTW, I am from Georgia so we have huge roaches and rats, but they stay outside for the most part. I don't have a problem with them if they stay outside, I just don't want to be dealing with them inside. I don't even mind the large roaches all that much, it's the German roaches that freak me out more.

Are you serious? LOL. Find your own place then. Pests are a fact of life in urban city living, get over it.

hehehehehe. You have huge roaches, we have huge waterbugs. In fact, they are known to, and will, clog up the faucet. The biggest problem in housing is the chupacabra, but don't worry, they are essentially the fetus of the big foot.

I called admissions today - I was told that mid/late January interviewees wouldn't here back until late February

Hi all,
I have an interview soon. Any advice? Is this a long day? Relaxed? Lots of presentations? Thank you 🙂

Thanks a million for the update! Waiting heavily as well...

Acceptance via email! Interviewed very end of January. Surprised they got back to me already. So happy! I loved Sinai when I visited!

Does anyone know about the possibility for merit scholarships? When would they tell you?

😍 😍 😍 😍

Loved loved loved my interview experience at Mt. Sinai. Just a matter of money now...

Congrats! Accepted via email as well. Interviewed at beginning of January.

congrats to all those accepted today!

has anyone been accepted yet after receiving the cryptic "you will remain under consideration" email? sinai is by far my first choice and I interviewed in mid-November, and the only news I've heard from them is that one email. does that group wait til the end to be re-reviewed or are we reviewed periodically?

I called the office of financial aid office today regarding the disbursement of funds for merit scholarships. He said we should expect to receive correspondence about Merit scholarships towards the end of March. Just Like you, money would be the only thing that can keep me away from Sinai. Loved the school when I visited.

Accepted via email, interviewed 1/3/13. First one ahhhh!
