Are these all pre-interview rejections?
Sorry to hear about everyone's rejections. I haven't heard anything since submitting my secondary in August. Not sure what that means...
My friend got it today and forwarded it to me. She and I have been through and through with each other over this process, it's been a loooong 8 months!
I regret to inform you that you will not be offered a place at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for the upcoming year. Please appreciate the fact that we received a large number of highly qualified applicants for a limited number of seats in our class. These decisions are difficult to make because of the sheer number of impressive applicants.
I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors and we hope for you much success in your professional life. Thank you genuinely for your interest in our school.
Sincerely,
Valerie Parkas, MD
Associate Dean for Admissions
me too, except complete late oct, anyone else?Same same.
Has Mount Sinai sent any other emails, other than the first "you have successfully submitted your online application to the MD Program..." one, pre-interview? I didn't receive an email from another school (no emails in spam/trash) and am wondering if this is also happening with Mount Sinai (just waiting for that rejection!)
That's the only email I've gotten from them. I've sent in an update recently and I didn't get a response either. This seems to be normal with MSSM.
Rejected just now via e-mail, no interview.
rejected as well.

missed another round of rejections. I'm sure mine is coming up soon though...
Haha same. I submitted my secondary 11/22 though.. they prolly didnt even get to my app yet to reject me lol. Anyone else submit in november??

I submitted mine 8/17, so I find it hard to believe that they haven't gotten to mine yet. But who knows...
Any post-interview news from late January interviews?
None here. The admissions lady said early Feb right? Perhaps next week...![]()
Complete 9/22 here. Maybe this is good news for us 3? (Or I spoke too soon and we all get rejections tmr) Either way, crossing fingers. Good luck!
I was complete in early October, and I haven't heard anything either. Applying to med school is oh so mysterious.
Hello! I've been lurking on SDN for quite a while...but I've found posts on this thread to be very helpful.
Interview Invite received today! Application submitted in August, 3.8/35R.
congrats! when are they scheduling interviews for at this point?
Just thought I'd refer you back to the edit in case you missed it.
i wonder if we're on some sort of waitlist for interview invites if we haven't been rejected yet...Sorry to hear about the rejections everyone 🙁
For those of us waiting to hear, is there any way to check your status online?

Are you serious? LOL. Find your own place then. Pests are a fact of life in urban city living, get over it.Can current students please shed some light on the quality of life in Aron Hall? Obviously in NYC pests are abound, but how bad are they in Aron Hall? Are roaches, waterbugs, mice, etc a big problem? There was a specific FAQ question regarding pests in the housing packet, so that is why I ask. BTW, I am from Georgia so we have huge roaches and rats, but they stay outside for the most part. I don't have a problem with them if they stay outside, I just don't want to be dealing with them inside. I don't even mind the large roaches all that much, it's the German roaches that freak me out more.

I interviewed Jan 8th, praying I hear some good news by the end of the week!I called admissions today - I was told that mid/late January interviewees wouldn't here back until late February
Acceptance via email! Interviewed very end of January. Surprised they got back to me already. So happy! I loved Sinai when I visited!
Does anyone know about the possibility for merit scholarships? When would they tell you?
