Showing the tongue is the primate sign of submission while baring the teeth is a sign of aggression. I think the former is more appropriate for this thread.

IS THERE ANYTHING MORE ANXIETY-INDUCING THAN WAITING TO GET OFF A WAITLIST??????
I thought waiting for mcat scores was bad....
I thought waiting for an interview invite was bad........
I thought waiting for a decision post-interview was bad......
Waiting to get off a waitlist???![]()

What are you guys gonna do WHEN (not if!) you get in!

Is it safe to assume that if I have received zero interviews at this point that I might as well throw in the towel? I'm already preparing for the next cycle, but was just wondering if schools are still sending out invites. Applied to 21 schools, only 7 have sent me rejections.
I feel your pain. Got my first waitlist today 🙁

I swear, if I get one more waitlist, I'm going to have to change my SDN name from SilverCat to WaitlistKitteh.

We should all try to do this.

I got my first waitlist last week. It's the first post-interview news I've received. I didn't even feel anything. My feelings are so numb from how long this process has already taken.

Just got an email from PennState that they didn't even look at my app yet...
Sigh.
(Then again, I got this email from another school and got an interview about a month later, so not all hope is lost).
you're all losers and should give up A.S.A.P. !
You're are ****ed!
Dude you're going on a rampage. Calm down seriously

He's really pissed... idk I can kinda understand where he is coming from.
altamont you need to calm down and realize that getting your life in order is enormously more important than becoming a doctor. Slow down your life, take things slowly, and enjoy the little things. Surely becoming a doctor is not the only thing in the whole wide world that can make you happy. Start exploring all your different hobbies - be it photography, math, astronomy, video games, etc etc. Life is too short to be fixated on one goal this much. Find what makes you happy and pursue it, because life is too short. I know that I can't judge your life from across an internet forum, but I don't know what else to tell you. Stay
strong.
And when I get tired and frustrated, "Greg Plitt's Quotivation III" cheers me up. Maybe it will work for you? Just search the title on yt and it should pop up.

Seriously, **** you!
Update - Well it took two extra days to finally contact him. Thankfully I was so busy at work that they went by quickly, but I finally reached the admissions office. Accepted! I wish you all the best of luck. I completely understand what you're going through as I did the same post-college (no II's at all) and didn't even have the heart or belief in myself to try again until this cycle. Even if takes getting an MPH, deploying to southern Iraq for a year, having to relearn all the MCAT topics and waiting 7 years you can all achieve your goals eventually.First time poster in this thread, but mostly cause I wasn't panicking. I've been through a crickets cycle (i.e. nothing but crickets) so this one with 5 II's is still a step up.
The admissions office called my boyfriend's number today (I live in Korea so I had to give out a US number), tried to call them back, but I guess they were gone for the day by the time I woke and got the message. Now I have go through a day of work waiting until the office opens again ( around 9 or 10 pm my time). I can't imagine it's anything but positive news, but the waiting doesn't make it any easier, lol.
do you have an acceptance yet?

I did a search of his previous posts. Poor guy. I wish him the best of luck. There's no need to mock or make fun of him.I can imagine why this guy got banned; but to be fair...he does sound very "panic-y"

Hi everyone. Longtime lurker, first time posting. 3 interviews, wait listed at all 3 and told my chances are slim to none for getting off one of the three of them. I wasn't sure if they say this every year but schools have been saying that this year has been more competitive than usual. I'm trying to keep my hopes up that I'll get accepted off the waitlist(s) but I feel like it's useless keeping my hopes up. I'm really beating myself up because I feel like I messed up my chances by goofing up my interviews or secondaries. I was probably a fool for only applying to in state schools.

Oh no, I didn't mean to imply you did! No, I was just using your post as a jumping point to share my thoughts on the matter. Sorry about that!I'm not making fun...this is the panic thread. If there was anywhere to post something like he did. This would be the place I would think.

@Agent B: Yes, completely off the handle.
I finally got my first acceptance today. I feels good. You know the feels? I could not even focus at work today, and just left early. It is awesome getting that first acceptance.
One of the things that kept me sane throughout the waiting process was this thread, and I completely understand how it feels to be still waiting. Just hang in there, and best of luck to y'all. I hope you guys hear some good news soon, that is, if you haven't.
