I emailed them an update letter and they sent back a response saying that they don't accept updates.
I emailed with a post interview post waitlist update and got a reply saying it had been added to my file.

They just sent out info for second look weekend. They are holding it on Friday, April 19th at the Penn State Regional Medical Campus at University Park and Saturday, April 20th at the Medical Campus in Hershey. Seems like they are encouraging people to go to both locations.

We've got lots of great stuff planned for second look including mock PBL cases, nighttime plans and a BBQ at the end. It's going to be great fun and really informative for anyone who's still making the decision so everyone is encourages to come!
Sent the email to [email protected] at the end of January and received the reply:
"Thank you for your email. This information will be included in your file and subject to further review by the Admissions Committee. Please let us know what else we can do to help and thank you for your interest in Penn State College of Medicine."
Wow really interesting. Everything I've heard from here and directly from the office is they don't accept update letters. Would you mind calling to see if it truly is in your file?
I assume probably yes. I doubt they would send it out to WL or even people who are still waiting to hear back.

For people who have received decisions post-interview -- does the online status ever change from "being reviewed by committee" to "a decision has been made"?
Congrats! Hopefully they'll send it to you soon. You could always reach out to them and ask - if you're accepted you probably should have an invite, right???
I received my acceptance on Feb. 1st and my online status hasn't changed from "being reviewed." I don't suspect that it will.
Wow, that's a long time to wait. Have you called to find out what your status is? That could probably shed some light on why it is taking so long to hear back.

Hang in there! It took be a little over 17 weeks to get my acceptance!
So, I've been poking around their website, and I found out about the who, what when, where, and how of the medical school. But I cannot find out the "why". Does anyone know why this medical school was established?
For other medical schools, like USUHS, the why is very obvious. But I cannot find out the why over here at penn state.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One big reason "why" is the 50 million dollar grant from the Hershey Foundation to build a med school there.

Week 9 for me
Called and they said they are running behind so should expect to hear something from them in about 10 wks.
14 weeks for me since I interviewed!! Pretty impressive, huh?

Yea I could see that they are probably finishing up with interviews and will evaluate all of them I guess so they know how many acceptances they can send out maybe??
When do they finish interviews?
I thought I read somewhere back (or could have been another thread) that they are done soon.

When was ur interview?
I think im a little behind on this post but i got a letter jan 23 saying continue to review and have not had an interview..I take it im dead in the water right. I doubt they interview so late in the cycle. right
It seems like the last few interviews are in the beginning of April so...
Graduated from Penn Univ. last year. Put on hold last week = NO LOVE from alma mater.
My background check came after my acceptance letter.
