I really doubt that info even gets to the adcom, it's just for the director to figure out the schedules. Just schedule it as soon as you can and you'll be fine.
 
Rescheduled for 10/1. Anyone else interviewing here on that date?

Nah, couple weeks after. But if you're a craft beer fan I hear it's a must visit in the area. I've only had their Brooklyn lager when I've been in the city, and it's phenomenal, so I assume the rest of their beers would be as well.

Just chiming in. Last year, I rescheduled from 11/21 to 11/28, and I actually ended up getting accepted 12/27, so no negative effect on adcom! In fact, the decision to reschedule probably ended up getting me accepted LOL, and it turned out to be my only acceptance out of 9 interviews. So if you haven't done so already, reschedule it and you'll be fine. 🙂
 
will we be the first one's to interview at downstate this cycle? If so, does anyone think that we will get our decision letters on Oct. 15 (good or bad?)?

I've been there, it's just an awesome time. GREAT beers and there's usually a truck that makes pretty good pizza hanging out right by where everyone drinks. I'd imagine a great post-interview unwind spot.
 
Do you guys think I'll be penalized if I put on the secondary application the wrong name of one of my letter writers? I'm not sure if it was my supervisor who wrote it or my supervisor's supervisor. I sent an email asking my supervisor but I'm not sure when she will reply and I am ready to submit my application and don't want to wait any longer.
 
So interviewing in here was pretty cool. I started off with a school tour by three ms2's and unfortunately I wasn't impressed. My interview was after my tour and we basically covered many of the questions that have been going on around here: how did you study for the MCAT, how do you handle stressful situations, tell me about you research, why do you want to become a physician and why Downstate??????????? It was realy relaxed and I hope you all will prepare accordingly. Good luck to everyone👍
 
Apart from the email they asked us to print out, we do not need to take anything else to our interview, correct?
 
Do they have a phone number we can call or you have to email them to ask a question?

Nope. The security guard barely looked at the email and sent us a couple of steps behind him to the admission office
 
Anyone know if Downstate is receptive to LOIs pre-interview invite?
 
Got my interview invitation today! Is anyone else interviewing on October 9th? OOS, 3.8, 35
 
Does Downstate provide the option for applicants to have a second interview if they feel dissatisfied with their first one? I know Einstein does, so I was just curious.
 
anyone interviewing next week 9/25? I'm starting to get super excited. This is my first interview this cycle!
 
Wow, you guys are starting to interview already.. It feels so weird that I'll start seeing pre-meds come to Downstate for interviews now that I'm no longer the dude in the suit.
 
Would someone who interviewed here recently please tell me the duration of your interview day? I am trying to make traveling arrangements back home. Thanks!
 
Depends on what time you interview. If you have a morning interview you should be out by 1-1:30. I interviewed in the afternoon so I was done around 3.
 
Reapplying this year...any chance with a 30 MCAT...this is a top choice.
 
So what's up with the curriculum chance that's gonna be implemented next year? I read about it online but couldn't really tell what's being changed -other than the philosophy.

Interviewed last week, New curriculum is going to be implemented next year. Main hallmarks are 1.5 yr preclinical and more PBL.

They definitely do Tuesdays.
 
Is there a way to check status online? I found an admissions checklist page, but I don't know which username/password to use. Thanks.
 
interview invite today! i'm so excited 😀. I thought this school was out of my league. Oh and I was complete 7/12.

congrats! that's wonderful to hear. i was complete 7/16 and was starting to lose hope. what dates are they up to for interviews?

Complete secondary I'm assuming...? Not primary...
 
Yes I am referring to the secondary. And 33mcat/3.5 gpa

Edit: interview dates are starting in November now
