Does anyone who interviewed already remember what the admission director said about updating the admissions committee. I'm not positive if she said she just wanted an email stating your updates or if she wanted a formal update letter.
 
Doesn't need to be formal. Just a quick email with bullet points is what she told our interview group.

Do you mean updates regarding our grades/class schedule?

the letter does not have to be formal, just an update, but i would also include some points of why you want to go there, it can't hurt to show them what you liked about the interview day and the school
 
Interview status is gone. Interviewed on 10/24. Nervous for sure.

She said upload don't email, and she said submit as bulleted list, that she doesn't have time to read through in letter form. She said if you send email it will sit in inbox for a long time

Just got accepted via email!!!! interviewed oct 24.
 
My interview status just came back after having disappeared for about an hour. Not sure what thats about.
 
Talked to admissions today and she said that an email should be coming out this week confirming our deposit for reserving a seat. I also asked about Summer anatomy but information about that will come out in the Spring. There also will be a "Second look" again this year (mostly likely in April again). Lastly, there was no update on their probation status.

Yes. Upstate does offer a second look / second visit day. Last year it was on April 2nd. Not sure exactly when it'll be this year, but it'll probably in April.

2nd visit day has a lot more information about the school, curriculum, etc... than you would get during your interview. To help you choose, I guess.

Nope, all interviewed questions are considered. They won't drop the highest/lowest score. if anything, the mini essay is less important than the other questions because it doesn't have an interviewer's review notes. Unless you only wrote 1 sentence in the mini essay or make it completely incoherent (I've seen one with only 1 sentence!). Mis-spellings will not hurt you either (just don't misspell every few words)

Sorry to hear that! Yes, I've seen ppl get II with 29 mcat. Would need decent GPA to help though. Also URM status helps as well. In general, the whole application is looked at, not just mcat/gpa. 29 is definitely not a cut off score at screening.
 
Does anyone know when the committee meets to make decisions post-interview? I'm so anxious for a decision!

Usually on wednesdays (sometimes tuesday too), not every week though. it's a lot of busy ppl to schedule for meeting. I think the previous meeting was before thanksgiving and the coming one is in first week of dec. Good luck!

Yeah I wouldn't expect anything too soon as I am about 5 weeks post interview but you never know! A couple 10/24 and 10/22 interviewers found out recently (i.e. yesterday).

They say 2-3 weeks but it takes longer, it took 6-7 weeks before I found out anything, closer on the 7 week side actually. Just be patient and wait for your interview message to disappear, that is when you should truly be worried 😉
 
Yesterday my interview message did disappear. Then it reappeared.
 
Haha as long as I find out before Christmas ill be satisfied 🙂

that happens periodically, probably a server thing. Usually the message should disappear and stay disappeared for a couple of days, that is when the committee is meeting to make a decision, mostly positive from what I am seeing on the forums

Speaking of the portal, what does it say as your status right now? I got the 'Your seat has been reserved' update after paying the deposit but when I logged in today the status was gone and there was nothing.

Don't worry about that...I have the same thing and I confirmed today that my deposit was paid and that they received my acceptance reply form

Yeah I had that same status of seat reserved after paying online, but it shows nothing for me too. I guess any new info we get will be via email. Did you get an email from director saying they received your payment and such?
 
Has anyone sent an update letter/LOI after being put on hold?

Yes, just got the email. I can now log into My Upstate 🙂

how is that possible? I interviewed more than 3 weeks ago, and mine still says congradulations on being selected for an interview....
I have a question for you guys, on your interview page, does your say application preference not entered? Or does it say which campus you have chosen/preferred?
I mailed them back the campus preference form the day after my interview, and mine still says "not entered". I wonder if that'll be a problem...
 
But then I got an email today from admissions saying that they were sorry to hear I was withdrawing my application, which I definitely did not do. I called and they corrected it, but I wonder if it was just a glitch in their system or something. I hope it doesn't become a problem.

It stays as not entered until you are accepted
 
I have not been accepted but my campus preference has been displayed
 
Maybe tomorrow some decisions will come out. I remember someone said earlier in the thread that they typically come on fri/mon.

Should I email them and ask if they have received my form? I mailed it out three weeks ago, but I have not had any indication that they have received it...They said something about not making a decision until the campus has been chosen.
