Congratulations! For your supplemental form, did you add extra experiences on the list beyond the space allotted on the original form or did you just stick with what was available?

I thought it was odd that they had a form like that and that they didn't have much instruction associated with it.

1st interview offer--phone call from Children's National Medical Center. 😀
Interview dates are either Jan 4th or Jan 11th.

One more question, I just realized that it says that they were going to call about interviews AFTER December 15th. From their website: "Invitations for interviews will be sent after December 15. If you are traveling during semester break, please call between December 15th and 24th to check on your status. (202) 476-5995. Please do not call before December 15th."

Do you know why they might be calling so early, and if they are doing rolling invites or if they're done with offers?

Just got interview offers at the Mountain Home VA (phone) and Cherokee Health Systems (mass email)!

Congrats! I was hoping for either but have not heard anything. Can I ask when you sent your apps for each? I am thinking since it was a mass email for Cherokee Health Systems that I should not hold my breath.

It is a strange thing sharing with your cohort members because I did not think about how difficult it could be sharing that you have an interview while another member did not get one with a particular place. I am thankful we can all share on here in anonymity. May we all get plenty of invites!

Thanks for your feedback. Glad to hear you're getting a chance to visit. I know that they've interviewed more than 40 students in the past, so I'm hoping that they might be making some calls for interviews later. I know it's a long shot, but I'm willing to hold out hope for a few hours ;-)

Foreign transaction fee for the matching service?!

My credit card hit me with a $3.90 foreign transaction fee for signing up for the match. I saw that their office is in Toronto. This sucks, they don't say that anywhere on their website that the money gets converted to Canadian dollars. I would have used a different credit card that didn't charge as much.

The Foreign Exchange Transaction fee is a 3% fee billed to an account by Citi. This fee is charged if you make a foreign purchase in a foreign currency that is converted into US dollars or a foreign purchase made in US dollars. Unfortunately, we do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as foreign, or domestic purchases, or cash advance. We also have no control on whether or not they choose to bill offshore.

You can register up til the end of December with no problem (although the business charging you recommends an earlier registration... wonder why? 😛) and you're supposed to hear about interviews by mid-December, so you'll know before you actually have to register.

I did turn them in right around the deadline. I will say that I believe I may have heard from Mountain Home a bit early because they requested a specific interview date that was very soon (December 5th!). Best of luck to you!

NMS just emailed me back saying this doesn't happen for all credit cards and to take it up with the credit card. They told me that in the past, registrants have had this happen. I don't understand if that is the case why they wouldn't then say it on their payment form that some credits credits may charge a foreign transaction fee. That is lame.

I know you don't have to sign up for the Matching service this early, but I'm going to be out of the country in December and with so many things going on, I didn't want to have to remember one small but significant thing. Thankfully, I've gotten some interview invites already.

It did seem like a mass email to just CBT Track people, but you never know how programs handle these things. I did not apply for the ED concentration so there could be a separate chunk of emails that go out to those folks. Good luck!!!!

yeah you are right, I wished they'd put that when you are entering the credit card info at the top instead of at the bottom

Just received my first rejection from Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology. The email had a personalized PDF rejection letter attached to it.

The letter said the agency met Monday (21st) to review all applicants, so I'm guessing more notifications are on the way.

Oregon State University-Corvallis CAPS sent a mass email stating they received my application and applicants will be notified if they are selected for interviews after 12/9/11. I also got my first rejection from the Portland VA. I was definitely expecting it so not too sad. I am staying positive!

LOL I would even move it to the 16th! My husband and I are closing on our house on the 16th and doing the walk through on the 15th. I know from my experience last year that sites sometimes wait til the middle of the night on the 15th to notify... and some never do notify (although it is my understanding that this year APPIC has pushed the notification deadline requirement a little harder on sites). I hope I can concentrate on the walk-through and not stare constantly at my phone hahaha
