Oh yuck. They may have rejected you (first) but from the sounds of it you might have rejected them after the interview. If they can't send out a standard rejection then perhaps you wouldn't want to be in that environment for an entire year. :scared:

Same on most levels. Substitute other video games for harry potter and not sleeping for excessive sleeping, but everything else is identical. Bravo on choosing gin btw. 👍

Holy typos!!!!!! I typed it quick, then went back to edit it and fix all my stupid phone's autocorrects (which are neverrrrrr correct ... Ugh) and it sent before i could fix the errors. Is it sad that I'm now in full blown panic ????!!!!??? So pissed.

Likely the person will just scan it, see the date, and that's all. I didn't see the typos until I read it carefully a second time.

I love a good gin martini. I've decided I hate vermouth, but I've experimented quite a bit with different types of brine and olives. I've decided I like putting the classic green olives in the shaker with the gin and kinda letting them get pummeled by the ice. Gives the drink a more genuine olive flavor, I find.

All of the above. My level of junk food consumption has directly correlated with my number of daily rejections... Chocolate of course being my food of choice here. Also note that the availability of chocolate has risen due to the high number of holiday parties I've been invited to this year. Anyone thinking they should consider changing the timeline for this reason alone?😀

I also got an interview invitation (phone) from Cornerstone Behavioral Health.

I'm also up at 5 b/c of the east coast sites! AND I go to bed after 12 because someone a while back posted that they received an email around midnight on a Sunday-then I dream all night about what I coulda/shoulda done differently- so I'm severely sleep deprived and now have a much better understanding of the problems clients face when they ruminate and obsess on things!🙁

Maybe I should go for therapy . . .
 
Just got a non-personalized email invite to Denver Health! Woo 🙂 Only 1 site left to hear from. Still sending out good vibes for everyone-- only a few more days of this!
 
Interview invite for the Adult Psychology track at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry by email (nonpersonalized).
 
speaking of gin, I find the best coping strategy (aside from mindless t.v. and chocolate, I think I've watched enough trashy t.v. to fry my brain and eaten enough chocolate to last me through the winter) to be: 2 parts gin + 1 part homemade simple syrup + 1 part freshly squeezed lemon/limes = best gin sour EVER.

Funny, I go the opposite way. I can't stand olives. but I find that a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio of gin:vermuth with two drops of bitters is ideal. A lemon or orange twist gives it a nice extra something

I just want to second this. I had to read and reread it to spot. Yes, they're there. But you've got the interview. If they are going to rule you out for a hastilly written e-mail, then you have to wonder if you want to even be there (maybe you do, I don't know. I wouldn't).

Hey everyone, I need some advice! I received an email invitation from a site yesterday indicating I could choose from 4 days in January to interview. I only had one of the days available because I have interviews scheduled on the other 3, so I asked for the 4th day. However, they told me it was taken. I tried to reschedule one of my other interviews so I could attend the site that invited me yesterday, but they said changing dates was not an option at this point. They asked me if I wanted a phone interview instead, which is an option that they gave me when they first invited me. I'm curious what other people would do. Would you take the phone interview so you could interview at one more site, or would you just keep things the way they were and not schedule at the new site?

Watching the trashiest TV I can find such as Millionaire Matchmaker (which is now a problem since the season finale was last week...frick), consuming way too many adult beverages, displacing my anger on my dog, fiance, and anyone else who comes in contact with me, playing Dance Central 2, and eating lots of skittles.

Dumb question...but does anyone else think they have internship interview induced depression? I feel like I cannot focus on anything else like my job or even a movie because I am constantly checking my e-mail and refreshing this forum. Even my fiance (who is not even in a psych program) looked over my shoulder last night and yelled, "STOP LOOKING AT THE FORUM!" 🙁

Also a favorite for me, though I usually forgo the syrup. I love a good gimlet.

I think it depends which site you want more. I would probably take whatever measures to secure an in-person interview with the most desirable site.

How much do you want to go to the site that recently invited you versus the one that is offering the phone interview? Although people have been known to match at site at which they did phone interviews, it would be hard for me to risk it.

In a word, YES. I haven't been this depressed in a while. I'm almost non-functional. I usually love my job, but I've been dreading having to go to work lately and checking my email constantly. I wake up around 4am every morning, worrying about what I'll do if I don't get any interviews (I still don't have one). I can't motivate myself to put together the IRB form for my dissertation. I keep thinking, "If I don't get any interviews and can't go on internship, what's the point?"
 
Hi all! I was wondering if anyone has heard from the Houston Independent School District or the Morrison Center (Portland). Also, just an update - someone in my program got an interview invite to Geisinger today, which we had counted out a long time ago...so there might still be hope!

One of my friends found an interview invite to MUSC in her spam folder, which prompted me to go frantically digging through my own spam folder...but to no avail. :shrug:

Now I'm not only obsessively refreshing my email inbox and this thread, but also my spam folder. The 15th can't get here fast enough!

I have at least one site that has said they plan to send out notifications on the 16th or 17th. Like you, I've made sure to check my spam folder multiple times a day. I've also taken to using the gmail search function and typing in terms like "internship" or "interview" just to see if I somehow missed something.

Did it indicate a specific track? Did you apply for a specific track? I and everyone else I know are waiting to hear from them.
 
Well, personalized rejection from WVU-Carruth....and I am a WVU alumni. Ugh, 7 rejections, 1 interview, 10 sites to go.
 
Anyone get an invite to the Cleveland VA open house? I saw posts earlier about it being invite-only, but I wasn't sure if anyone actually received an invitation yet.

I'm also interested in the answer to this. Also, there seemed to be some question about whether they would even send out notifications to let us know whether or not we're still under consideration?
