That's how medicine is also organized. Every since doctor has a generalist medical degree, whether they are a radiologist, endocrinologist, or psychiatrist. They specialize in residency and fellowship.

Somebody at some point mentioned a while back that last year the Atlanta VA sent invites and rejections on 12/15. So, hopefully they'll hold to form.
 
5 sites to go!! Didn't think I would be waiting for so many sites still on 12/15!!

Still waiting on three probable rejections
-Albany Consortium
-DC VA
-NJ VA (This one is a super bummer! Thought I was a great fit!)

Still holding out hope for
-Cleveland VA (Open House invite? Still confused by their process as I thought everyone could attend the OH? Or at least someone from the cohort above me went last year.)
-Bedford VA (Edith Nourse)

Hope everyone can engage in some self-care today while we wait!!
 
Interview offer at Virginia Beach City Public Schools (as already mentioned above... generic email). I applied to both tracks, but my application focused on the neuro track.
 
I also received the unpersonalized email (rejection) from WVU. 7 sites left, including Cleveland VA, whose process is a big question mark, and Napa Valley, who may or may not have lost funding.

Is your last name early in the alphabet? Still waiting on chapel hill and I'm L. Wonder if they already did interview notifications or if they're doing rejections and notifications right now. Got the catholic rejection too! Boo.

9 sites to go. Still only 1 interview. :scared:
 
Just received a "dear applicant" bcc rejection email from BU's CMTP. I was expecting it as invitations started going out in November. Good luck to everyone interviewing there and to everyone waiting on sites!!

Got the personalized rejection from UNC also. My name starts with R.
 
Rejection from Mendota via bulk email but what a lovely rejection it was!
 
The Memphis VA brochure states that their invites will go out on the 15th. So if I dont hear from them by the end of the day I'll send an email.
 
Personalized e-mail invite to Lehigh University CC (APPIC member, non-accredited site). Still have 2 APPIC member sites to hear back from. This puts me at:

2 interviews at APA accredited sites (Devereux Foundation and VTech CC)
2 interviews at APPIC only member sites (Holcomb BHS and Lehigh CC)

So right now I have a 50-50 shot at APA accreditation for internship. Let's see what happens!
 
Another mass e-mail rejection....am expecting at least 2 more by the end of the day based on this forum....🙁
 
Rejection from Bedford/Edith Nourse VA. Surprised since the Boston VA invited me to interview for 2 of their tracks. :shrug:
At least I am finished hearing from places now. Good luck to those still waiting.
 
3 sites to hear from today, although I'm pretty sure 2 of them will be rejections! I would really like an interview at my top choice, though! Good luck to everyone who is playing the waiting game today!

I wonder if we are waiting on the same ones. 🙂 We seem to have applied to a lot of the same places! I finally heard from Ohio yesterday. Whew!

Thanks! I received a personalized email. It said they received 178 applications for 6 spots.

Sorry to hear that. After 6 rejections in a row, I got offered an interview here. Interviews are January 9th and 23rd and I'm interviewing for the Infant Mental Health track.

12 rejections, 1 more rejection expected today, 8 interviews. I am content.

1st interview was yesterday. I would give the site a 10 out of 10. I would give my own performance a 6 out of 10, though, so we shall see!

I was just discussing with a colleague how during interviews for graduate programs, I was very critical of my interview performance after the fact and re-hashed my answers and how they could have been better. Yet, I got offers from a few places, so it couldn't have been that bad. I don't think that interviewers expect you to be perfect and understand that it's stressful, so if you're rating yourself a 6, they're probably looking at you much more favorably than that.
 
I would be interested in how people feel like they do on interviews. Do we all feel like we do a mediocre job no matter what? I wonder if most people feel like they scored a 6 out of 10 on most interviews, regardless of the site or the qualifications of the applicant.

They don't have a clinical-developmental program, only a clinical psychology program that has been accredited since 2003. I found them on the list of accredited programs on that website, so I'm not sure where you saw that they were unaccredited?...Although the site still lists it as a "clinical-developmental" program for unknown reasons.

Personally, I think the field could use some streamlining of credentials, so I wouldn't mind the schools offering alternative degrees being asked to meet APA training standards. Otherwise, it's going to get increasingly difficult to draw the line between solid training and specialties designed solely as marketing ploys. It's easy to see examples of the latter in other fields.
 
Double rejection Kinda morning! Both were emails from Ball State CC and Terminal Island.


Still waiting on 2 sites... I can't complain. 4 interviews... keeping my fingers crossed.
 
Boo. Two people got interviews at the last site that I was waiting on... and last year I got an interview there. I did way worse this year. Last year I got 4 interviews out of 18 sites and this year only 1 interview offer out of 8 sites. I can't believe this is happening again.

Double post. I'm having issues with SDN today.

No news, still 4 sites out. I am happy with the # of interviews I have but I do wish the others would let me know so I can stop manically checking SDN and email!

Hmmm I haven't heard from Morgantown. Which concentration did you apply to? Did anyone receive an interview?

Well I applied to both, but they didn't let me know which one I'd be interviewing for. My bet is on the general track since I would probably fit better there anyway!
