HI,

Caapid 2012 cycle will open now. Also CA school deadlines Aug 13 are nearing.

Q to accepted students and seniors
AS THE COMPETITION IS TOUGHER DAY BY DAY..WHICH ALL SCHOOLS IS IT A MUST TO APPLY.

WILL UO PACIFIC, USC, BU be good enough??

Hey, if money is not a big problem for you, I would advice, apply to every university which has an application, because you never know, where u make it. But I definitely understand that applications are expensive and applying to all universities will cost you quite a bit. Honestly, you are the best person to decide on this. You can also see if some university just has like 2 or 3 positions, then u might want to consider before applying.

just 3 schools?
Ur kidding me right?

here's a list of schools you should definately apply to based on what your stats/ liking are. this is just a guide, by no way is it an exhaustive list:

BU - high scorers (90 Plus), decent TOEFL, good GPA / Exp in home country.

NYU - decent part1, toefl, gpa.

UTHSCSA - texas residents ,military background, decent hand skills.

UCSF - research ,double degree - MPH / MDS , decent hand skills, decent personality, ability to get along.

UOP - go getter, focused on clinical.

UCLA - top/near top of everything, impress during IV, multicultural environment.

Loma Linda - (someone once described it to me as the United Nations Of advanced DDS programs lol ...2 candidates from every region of the world.)

USC - PBL focused, decent hand skills.

Of course, there is NO RULE or formula. I just compiled my assessment of the schools. feel free to edit/ add schools.

hey guys
i was thinking we could all pen down all the schools we have applied to as yet/are applying to , and as and when we keep hearing from them..
i just did to umn and ucsf.

Here s the checklist abt transcript i came across in the UCSF site :

6) Official Transcripts
Original dental school, non-dental school and all postgraduate program transcripts must come stamped and sealed from all conferring institutions. Notarized copies are not acceptable.

does this mean our institute have to send directly to UCSF ? goshhh this gonna b a real big problem !!!🙁

Good info. What do you know about UPenn?

Can we start sending the documents required by individual schools even if our CAAPID is not done yet. or i should start only after i e-submit my CAAPID?/😕😕

sorry for question🙂))

Upenn - dream school for many.

from what I know (limited knowledge) Upenn likes US exp. a degree in the US helps. A good balance of persian / middle-eastern and Indian students were selected this year.
