+2 High priority wait list
Interviewed 10/22
Does everyone on the high priority end up getting accepted?

I did a browse through last year's thread and it doesn't look like a lot of people from the high priority wait list ended up getting accepted.

I see the opposite, I see alot of people who were HPWL in the beginning get in on last year's thread

Here's my data:

Username (all were HPWL):
theinlines
cwrig14 -> accepted 5/21
whereismykey
arroyo2208
slothster
ANosyGuy
phillymed89
chrisnyc
chillaxbro
wagmanager -> accepted 6/5
456789
solb
bowman13 -> accepted 5/21
kcporsche
Drsolus
dominicandoctor
an acquantaince of someone on SDN -> accepted with $30,000 scholarship off HPWL

so.. that's 4 out of 17 HPWLers who ended up getting accepted based on what I saw on last year's thread. Not really liking my chances but oh well..

So they got rejected? withdrew? just never said? It's possible that a lot just never came back to the thread also we're on high priority pretty early I feel like that might mean something.

Idk what happened to them but I'm assuming they got rejected. But yea, hopefully getting on the HPWL early means something

I'm not an authority on this or anything, but I have heard there is semi-decent waitlist movement. Also a bunch of my friends got in off waitlist.. So don't give up hope!

I was accepted last year on jan 15th so I don't know the whole story with the wait list. That said, I anecdotally know of at least one classmate who was called up from the wait list 3 days before orientation started and others who were called up from the wait list in early summer. Not sure about HPWL vs regular though. Regardless, Einstein plays the long game.

For the couple of you who are starting the facebook group, I'm an admin on ours. What we did last year was just post the link on the SDN page and a good number of people found it. Be wary of random requests, try to at least take a quick peek at the person's profile before accepting them into the group. Make sure to put the whole "not an official representation of AECOM" and all that nonsense too. A small group of yet-determined people from the c/o 2017 will be in charge of your orientation and we can try to keep you posted there during the summer months.

So far it seems like people who interviewed December and earlier got acceptances on the 15th (although I haven't seen a December acceptance posted here). Rejections or some kind of wait list position were given out on the following dates (people, including me, are still waiting too). I wonder when the next batch of acceptances will come out.

Where are you coming from? Will you be driving?

I'm coming from Philly. If I can stay with a student, then I may take a bus up to NYC the night before. I could drive but I'm not sure how bad the drive is up to Bronx from Philly.

Congrats! It's good to hear they are still interviewing. Stats/when where you complete?

Thank you! I was complete on 9/22, and I can PM you my stats if you're interested. 🙂

HPWL as well, although I feel like this is a euphemism for the regular old wait list. I'm psyched either way. I liked AE a lot.

Does Einstein have any 24/7 study spaces available?

Bunches. The library has good hours, but there are two entire buildings (forscheimmer and belfer) which are open 24/7 and they have a bunch of conference rooms with spacious tables. You'll even have 24/7 access to the anatomy lab if you want to brave it for some after-hours dissection.

Thanks--that's awesome!

Accepted this morning! The email came around 630 eastern time. Awesome way to start the day! Anyone thinking of starting a facebook group? Really excited to start meeting people as I'll more than likely end up attending.

Edit: Interviewed beginning of October. Good luck to everyone waiting--I hope you all hear good news soon!

+1 high priority wait list as well.
Accepted but most likely will not go. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Does anyone know if, for the Service and Research Scholarship, we also have to submit our FAFSA within 2 weeks of our acceptance date?

I was wondering the same... But they want this year's tax returns I think (or financial information at least) and most people don't have those available yet because the W-2's are made available at the end of January, so I would think those aren't due until later. I'm gonna call up on Monday to double check though.

That's what I figured... I don't have any of my tax documents yet 🙁... I sent an Email also. We'll keep each other posted. Not sure if tomorrow is a holiday there or not also

Oh right, MLK day... Worth a shot

I have an interview scheduled but haven't booked tickets yet. I am sitting on one acceptance and wondering if I should attend this interview.
I don't have access to MSAR; does anyone have data on acceptances from OOS interviewees? Also, how generous is AE with scholarships, etc?
Thanks in advance

I have a question for current AE students: is it possible to keep a car on or near campus if you live in on campus housing for the 1st yr?? I think the on campus housing seems like a great option but my girlfriend lives in the city and I'd like to have a car to visit her when I want. Is this feasible or is keeping a car not recommended? Also- are there long term AE parking passes we can purchase or do we need to use private lots/garages or find street parking?

Thanks in advance!

Data from Msar on OOS students:
5611 applied
921 interviewed
97 matriculated

I'm unsure about scholarships. I have a friend that goes there and got nothing, but my sample size n=1.

Yep! There is an underground parking garage underneath housing - super convenient! It's 90$ a month. 24/7 access.

Some people park on the street nearby but majority of ppl with card park in garage.

This is an honest question, so please don't think I'm trolling or anything.

A good amount of people here have stated that Einstein was their top choice, and I'd really like to know why. Like for real. Its a good school, but I don't see anything unusually great about it for it to be someone's TOP choice (my understanding of top choice is a school that one would take over every other acceptance).

Because, quite honestly, whatever pros you might list for Einstein are common to many other schools. Even in NY alone, there are many strong programs that just make me scratch my head when I see someone placing them "lower" than Einstein on their list. Then when you include all the other amazing programs across the states, this conclusion becomes even more baffling.

I might be missing something, but the only real reason I can come up with is some personal connection to the school. Anyone wanna help me out? I would really like to know before I decide to withdraw my acceptance and perhaps regret it in the future. Thanks!
not everyone has had as successful as a cycle as you...

I have an interview here mid-March, does that hurt my chances by a lot since I'm interviewing so late in the cycle? They were about to give me a late April date before I told them I couldn't make any of those dates...

This school doesn't do true rolling admissions, so I don't think it matters much which interview date you have. One round of acceptances already came out and then a second round will come out in (I think?) April. As far as I know everyone in each admissions group is on equal footing. Good luck everyone!

Is that really the case? Last year acceptances (and other decisions) for those interviewed in January started trickling in in early February.

That's the way it was explained to me, I could totally be wrong though haha.

Also got rejected today pre-interview. Good luck to everyone else!

Not Einstein 🤔

Rejected post interview this morning around 9:00 am PST (interviewed 12/13/13), OOS 3.84/31 ...

It sucks not really having feedback on anything (it was my first interview, thought it went pretty well, but as we all know, that's just part of the picture).

Best of luck to everyone else 😉... I fortunately have another shot at the class of 2018 coming up soon at SLUSOM

When in January did you guys interview? Also, no acceptances/rejections for January interviewees yet?

It's nerve-wracking! In the past, have decisions been released on Saturdays or do we have to wait till Monday?
