2013-2014 Albert Einstein Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is there a separate status page besides the secondary submission page?

I don't believe so. None that I've seen.

Yeah I'm jealous because it looks like we had similar age/stats/residency/submission time/etc. but I've only heard back from two schools so far! 😱 haha

I'm sure you'll hear more then! There's a lot of randomness in the process and it's hard to compare yourself to others.

took me 17 days to become complete. wanted to let those still waiting not to worry!!

Took me 17 days as well. They must be really backed up this year

How do you guys check your status? Does it say on the secondary link?

I got an II today as well! 32/3.8 and complete 7/25

Send an "in the area" and got a ii today! So happy!

Firstly, congrats!

When did you send the email, when were you complete, and what are your stats. I am interested because I sent an in the area email Thursday.

+1. I sent one yesterday so I hope I can hear from them as well. Nice to see that they're receptive of ITA emails!

I sent the email over the weekend. I have above average MCAT and GPA for Einstein but nothing like the heavy hitters. I was complete early August. 😎

I submitted 8/19 but still no complete email. Im thinking whether I should call them or something its been more than 20 days... Anyone submitted after 8/19 and received complete email?

I submitted about a week after you and received their completed email ~4-5 days ago. From what I've read earlier on this thread, it seems like it takes up to two and a half weeks so I'd probably give them a call if you don't get an email by the end of Monday. Don't know why mine went through more quickly than yours but i wouldn't worry, I'm sure it doesn't mean anything.

Does anyone have insight into how long Einstein takes to pick an interview date for you? After you submit the email with potential dates of course.

I got a response about the date the same day I submitted the email. I also might be a special case since I got granted an II after I sent an in the area request and they were nice enough to accommodate.

Nahh I got a regular II and was able to nail down a date (actually this Wednesday... eeek! 😱 ) by the end of the business day. They are very good about responding to emails quickly!

Does Albert Einstein do rolling admissions? I was like through the MSAR first notification of acceptance dates, and they have AE's date as Jan 15 or something. I take that as meaning no rolling admissions, since it's the same for Pitt and Ivy Leagues.😕

With Ivies, it's actually March 15th, and they're done with interviews by then. Pitt is also non-rolling because it conducts interviews only till mid-December. AE is kind of semi-rolling because it starts sending out decisions in January, but keeps interviewing through April.

II this morning! 3.9/32. This is my top choice so I'm ecstatic.

Thanks, didn't know Einstein kept interviewing that late.

II came in today!!

Believe I submitted around 8/8-8/10!

Do any of you think a white kid with a 3.9, 30 MCAT could get an interview. I know my mcat is a little low. What do you think? Its my top choice.

What about someone (nonURM) with a 3.5/3.6, 32 mcat? This is one of my top choices and hoping for an interview.. Has anyone gotten an interview with my stats?

I have basically these same stats and I have an II though in general I think sdners put far too much emphasis on these two parts of the application.

I literally have the same stats except a slightly different MCAT breakdown. However, I am not disadvantaged. Any advice on how you got interview to top schools...harvard and cornell damn?

I have a slightly higher GPA but lower MCAT and I got an ii a couple of days ago. Hence, GO FOR IT!!!😀

Haha Idk be yourself? I promise I'm not doing anything special as far as my applications go I've just had a lot of varied experiences in my life and as an undergrad which make for good essay and interview answers.

Got an II this morning.

CA applicant. 3.7ish gpa, 33+ MCAT, kind of a unique app

Just received an Interview Invite! =D

OOS, 36/3.60, complete 8/15

Excited to finally have an NYC interview.

Are interviews open file?

I believe so, but not 100% sure. If I saw correctly, my interviewer was referencing my AMCAS submission. Don't know if he/she had all of it, but at least in part it was available.

anyone know the percentage of interviees that are accepted?

Can you tell us what to expect?? Is it relaxed and conversational or more on the formal side??

I cant speak for everyone, but my interview was extremely relaxed and conversational! Another interviewee who I talked to during lunch also said that his was just one long conversation. It really seemed like the doctor was just getting to know me, and made me feel very comfortable!

Also you've probably heard this before but most of the interviews are off campus, however it wasnt a hastle at all, so dont worry if you get there and they tell you that yours is too. The school hired a car service to drop me off and pick me up at my interviewer's clinic, and the driver Marco was really nice haha 🙂

II today!

Complete 8/12, OOS (CA applicant), 3.84 , 31

I am super stoked! First interview invite... didn't expect it from here!

Looks like my interview will be in December.
