Can u give a more specific completion date please? Like was it the 15th? 12th? 18th?

Does anyone have the USNWR state on #interviewed, #accepted, #matriculated?

Don't want to share the exact data, but ~15 percent interviewed. Of those, about a quarter are accepted. Of those, about 75 percent matriculate.

These percentages are all within 2 percent of the true values.

Oh my goodness Interview Invite this morning 🙂! I was complete 7-16. Available interview dates: September 24th, October 1st, 2nd, 4th,8th, 9th, and 11th

Hope to see some of you there!

Now I realize this is Harvard, but do you think the admissions office is receptive to in the area emails? I'm going to be in Boston visiting a friend in late October, and if HMS is considering me, do you think it's unacceptable to send an in the area?

If you've already completed your application, I would suggest waiting. It's a month and a half away; you might hear from them sooner.

Interview invite couple of days ago. Wow. Lizzy m=high 70s. Super excited.

did anyone get a letter recommending you apply because you're a URM in medicine? I just got one despite already having submitted my application months ago. is it just a routine letter or does it mean something..?

I believe it has something to do with checking off the disadvantaged box when you take your MCAT but I'm not 100 percent sure.

edit: was being neurotic sorry

I got one! I just added harvard to my app! Do you mind sharing your stats?

II this morning! I can't believe it!! 3.78/3.85 GPAs and 36 MCAT, complete 8/6.

What's the interview format here? 2 open file, 30 min each?

Anyone know if Harvard is receptive to "in the area" emails? I have an interview at BU...

Anywhere from 30 to 60 min interviews (had both extremes). Both open file. Good luck!

It doesn't hurt to send one. They try to work with applicants but I think with such a massive pool, it's pretty hard to accommodate everyone. I know people that got lucky and I know people that had to make separate flights for schools only a few miles away from each other.

I thought about sending an in the area email here when I got my interview to BU, but after searching around on here and getting advice from a few others, I decided not to. Harvard's general response to in the area emails seems to be something like "If you are invited to an interivew, we will do our best to accommodate you" -- and I didn't find anything in past forums where applicant's had any luck. Anyways, I decided to wait it out, and just yesterday I was offered an interview! They were accomodating and allowed me to schedule my interview for the same week I'll be in Boston for my BU interview. Hope it works out the same for you! 🙂

This is the only secondary application I have not received...how long did it take them to send it to you guys after being verified by AMCAS?

All - my sense from this thread is that Harvard is not offering interviews sequentially by completion date - does that match you assessment as well? Just trying to get a sense if I was passed over, etc. I know it's quite early, but some schools are so obviously sequential about it and others are not...

There are different committees for different regions and then within those groups different reviewers etc. so don't try to make sense of the timeline. It's early and people who submit early on and don't hear back for a while can still get interviews late in the cycle too. I know this doesn't offer much closure but I don't think it's useful to try to predict the pattern and where you fall with regards to it.

My general sense is that trying to predict a lot of this process is just not a very effective use of time ... There's no real indication that schools get back to applicants based on their completion date.

I should also add that this is as someone who was complete almost everywhere in early July and has so far heard back from sub-40% of the schools where I applied.

Congrats to everyone who had interviews so far! Good luck to everyone else!

Definitely my ultimate dream school...

yeah, its my dream school too. ive been blessed to have gotten interviews from some really great and prestigious schools, and i couldn't be more grateful. But, I can't deny, an invite from Harvard would just be a whole new feel. here's to hope.

OMG II!! I died and starting screaming DURING class. 3.9 and 30 here! I never expected this for a second!!!!!!!! Complete 7/24

Hate to bring this up, but are you a URM?

EDIT: Nvm. Just saw your MDApps. Good luck to you!

Complete mid-August, but never got a "complete" email.

To other people who also have IIs: did you get a "complete" email? I got an email that said my secondary had been received but nothing after that. Should I be expecting a "Your file is officially complete" email? Obviously, I don't want to bother the admissions people to check that my application is okay unless I have good reason to think something might have gone awry.

Thanks! And congrats on the IIs! Super exciting!

2 weeks before the invite I got

"Dear _______

Thank you for your interest in Harvard Medical School. The HMS Supplemental On-Line Application has been received."

I never got a complete email -- just the same "your secondary is received email" you got.
