I don't even remember what my SAT score was...

But seriously, you might want to report that interviewer (diplomatically, of course) to the admissions office. They generally want to know if an interviewer is not someone who represents the school well.
 
I know I forgot mine too, I said a number and then after my interview I realized that It was like 60 points lower than that... like that was 6 or 7 years ago I really couldn't remember.

Haha, I don't even remember what the SAT is scored out of. Perhaps because the ACT is more important at most of the schools I applied to (but, even then, I only remember my score was somewhere above 30...).

- The most annoying thing was that I said a score and then he said out of out of 2400?.... which is really insulting because that would have probably meant that I guessed the whole test.... ummm no out of 1600.

Maybe it was a conscious tactic to see how you would react? Even then, that is incredibly rude.

- Oh I did ! which pretty much cost me a chance at the school, but he really represented the school poorly b/c i know they are pretty selective at inviting applicants b/c more than 10,000 people apply there and so I know they look at applicants holistically and not solely based on stats b/c otherwise i wouldn't be invited .

- they said they want all their applicants to have a positive interview experience and will be approaching the interviewer later on to make sure it doesn't happen to someone else.

- I have been asked about the score obviously at other interviews , but it was never a negative experience! I explained and the topic was over ... for some reason this guy really just couldn't move on.

Seriously, that question sends me on a spiral. I need a shirt made: "I promise, if I heard back, you'd hear me hearing back."
 
Why do I keep reading school specific threads? I keep seeing posts like, "I just declined my interview invite, hope you get it!" or "I am withdrawing my acceptance, hope it goes to you!"

I know they mean well but the road to hell (pre-med, pre-acceptance, pre-even a wait list hell) is paved with good intentions.

Seriously ..... If I got in, you'd sure as hell know that I got in. Can't wait till I can run down my work hallway that I got accepted ..... lol

I agree...i stopped going in there when people started talking about looking for roommates and sending in their deposits. i'm sitting here (0 interviews and counting) refreshing my email and thinking about what kind of alcohol to drink after work.

Fast food strike is going to backfire...

Fast food workers strike ---> people can no longer eat 8 cheeez burgerz and 5 big gulps a day --> everyone suddenly starts feeling better, more productive, happier --> people realize fast food sucks 😛

When your job is so easy that literally a monkey can be trained to do it, striking doesn't hold much weight lol

Trust me, dealing with people who believe your job is 'so easy that literally a monkey can be trained to do' it all day is a skill deserving of more than the $7.25 an hour you make. The main problem, however, is that McDonald's states that it's a livable wage yet went out to publish a budget for their employee that included working a second job.

But that's derailing this thread. Returning to panic mode in 5...4...3...2...1.

It's under sat scores. I think there's an easier way to do it, but when you click on understanding your score for thr writing section there's a tab at the top for "my essay"
 
Idk about the SAT essay but for the Mcat prompt I can't remember what the question was but I remember responding with the quality service they give at Cosco and talked about Paul Ryan in the same essay .... I ended up doing pretty well , but whoever read it must have thought it was the strangest essay ever

In my sat essay, I compared deciding on what to eat to world war II. I'm glad I didn't have the essay for the mcats :laugh:
 
The thing that I found remarkable when I started college was that a few months in I couldn't even remember what my SAT score was exactly. I can't wait for that point after starting medical school. We've all made ourselves crazy over analyzing our competitiveness and stats, its going to be nice when that no longer matters!!! 🙂

Double down on this.

I am waiting on 14 schools, 8 of them are reaches...The more I look at that list...the more I get discouraged/feel like I'm never going to be a doctor. And it doesn't help that people KEEP. ASKING.

I haven't told my parents yet about the one interview I have, in case, you know. But I've told coworkers/friends that I have one interview and I'm regretting it now since now they'll keep asking/eventually I'll have to say something even in case it doesn't go my way. Damn.

AHHHHHHHH.

I have been told on a few occasions that there is research somewhere that states your SAT score shows how likely you are to be successful on the MCAT. I'm not sure how true this statement is. However, I DO know that I bombed all pre-college testing and did fairy well on the MCAT. A lot of this has to do with me as a person in high school, nonetheless a score from a decade ago should not be used to measure you against other applicants now. Don't adcoms know how much difference a little time makes?

Was anyone else here complete in July? I'm facing 4+ months of silence and starting to feel a bit discouraged. Any hope for a late II?

I honestly think it will be impossible to ever forget what you get on your MCAT. We all spend 10x as much time and energy studying and worrying about it than we ever did the SAT.

Complete late October/early November, had to wait for my school's refund check to come in to be able to pay for apps.

Silence but I read about people submitting and getting interviews a week later and it freaks me out.

3.8/31 and mostly applied IS

What pisses me off the most is that committee members at my school said not to worry and that I'll get in somewhere despite being a late applicant. That kills me more than ill-informed family and friends trying to be nice.

Anyways, you guys have been so helpful and reassuring! I wish you all the best and hope we won't have to reapply!!!

End rant.

You did what you felt you needed to do at the time which was to get people to stop nudging you. I think the best approach is to inform people of the process, let them know that in some ways it's a crap shoot. Let them now that you are qualified but there are only so many spaces.
Also be prepared for those questions, and how they make you feel, perhaps trying to detach emotionally.
I'm feeling tremendous anxiety bc my apps got in late and have not heard anywhere even tho my stats are fine(I think)

Exactly. I'm working on Plan B and thought to myself "If I get a cool backup plan that I can get excited about, I'll stop worrying so much about the silence!"

We share exactly the same MCAT and completion date (early Oct). I have only three IIs so far and feel exactly what you're feeling now , especially after another rejection last Friday (my 5th). Hang in there.

A few people happened to get lucky around the time they posted here, but it seems like a lot of people posting here have not had any such coinciding luck.

It is certainly cathartic, but that seems to be about it.

I feel you guys. This is cathartic...and the only place I can post about all of anxieties/fears since my friends won't hear it anymore haha.

Day million and one....interview days are filling and I'm still interviewless....I need to stop lurking on school-specific threads....sigh.....maybe me posting here will get me an interview...🙁(((((((
