A girl in my program and I both applied to Oklahoma State University (clinical psychology, Ph.D. program). She received a rejection letter a few days ago via email, while I did not receive a rejection nor an interview email. It looks like at least one person received an interview invitation from OSU for this program. What do you think it means that I have not received any news, while others have?

From being on the other side several years now, I would wager that you have different POIs. Many, if not most, POIs review and extend their own interview invitations and/or rejections on their own timeline. So, I would guess your POI has not made any decisions yet.

It may be that your POI hasn't sent out emails yet, or it's that you are on the "maybe" list...people who aren't invited for a first round interview but aren't outright rejected. If the latter is the case, you likely won't hear anything for quite some time.

I thought they would send emails to inform you when you've been put on a waiting list.
