Congrats HollyBerry - just received extremely generic mass-email ("Dear Applicant") rejection email from Central Washington University. :-(

No, I applied to General Internship track and I haven't heard a thing.

My in-person interview on 12/20 is actually for the Child Track. I got a phone call invitation, but no interview over the phone. It seemed that someone else may have gotten a phone interview earlier on in the process.

I got the sense that they are offering the interviews on a rolling basis. They gave me 2 dates to choose from--12/20, which I chose, and another date in January.
 
Rejection from UCSD VA.. I suppose they finally got to the bottom of their reject list *satirically sings sad song*

EDIT: my name is not at the bottom of the list, I meant to infer that I (emphasis on me) was at the bottom of the reject list. My name is (aphabetically) in the middle of the list.

At the moment, most of you are patiently (anxiously?) awaiting word from sites regarding your interview status. You may have even heard that a few sites have already begun notifying applicants about interviews.

Before everyone on this list has a heart attack because a few people have reported hearing back from a site, let me state categorically that it is VERY EARLY FOR ANYONE TO BE HEARING BACK ON THEIR APPLICATIONS OR GETTING OFFERS FOR INTERVIEWS! Some application deadlines haven't even passed yet, much less have many sites had the opportunity to review materials and contact applicants to set up interviews.

So, if you haven't received any notification yet, all that means is that you are one of 4,000 other applicants who also have not yet received any communication from sites and who feel like they are the only one in North America who hasn't heard anything.

Remember that each APPIC-member site is required to list in their Directory information the date by which they have committed to notifying every applicant as to whether or not they are being interviewed. The purpose of that requirement is so you can know what to expect and when to expect it. Those are the dates that you should attend to, and you should not count on hearing anything prior to that date. APPIC recommends, but does NOT require, a December 15 notification date, which some sites use and others don't. Check the Directory to be sure.

If you want to make yourself really anxious for no good reason, you can: (a) wonder how each site notifies applicants (alphabetically? by date the application was received? by astrological sign?, etc.) and how you will fit in that process, (b) start worrying two weeks before the "interview notification date" in the Directory about why you haven't heard anything and then assume it must be bad news, and (c) assume that if a classmate hears from a site before you do, it means you're toast. All of these are tried and true methods of generating gobs of anxiety while waiting to hear from sites.

Seriously, go by the dates in the Directory, and assume you'll hear at 11:59pm on those dates and not a moment earlier. Will some notify you days earlier? Yes, but some won't. One year, I sent out my notifications the evening of my interview notification date, and I was surprised how many applicants told me that they had assumed they weren't getting an interview because they hadn't heard anything from me.

In the relatively infrequent event that you don't hear from a site by the end of that "interview notification date," you should call or e-mail the site the next morning to inquire about your status.

I submitted my app for the Columbia/NYP adult track on 10/25, got a phone call for an initial in-person interview (meeting with one person for 1/2 hour) on 11/12, had the interview on 11/19, and was told that I may be contacted in mid-December for a second interview which would take up a whole day and involve meeting with the training director and others. So the first interview is a preliminary screening type thing, whereas the second sounds more like the main interview. I haven't heard of anyone's preliminary interview being by phone for them, it wasn't offered to me and I was coming in from out of town (though thankfully only a few hours away by train). It does seem like the invites are rolling so I wouldn't lose hope! I'm not sure what timeline to expect for the second round of interviews...

In the meantime I'm telling friends and family that I've managed to get 3.5 interviews so far - will bump it to four if I make it to Round 2!

Everyone in my program got emails yesterday from them. I got a rejection email with an attached letter that wasn't personalized, and two people in my program got the same but for interviews.

I have received a standard e-mail congratuating me for being invited for an interview for the School Based track in the Institute for Child and Family Health, Inc. (ICFH). Saying they will be contacting mevia email at a later date to schedule the interview.

Oh wow, that's great! Now that I think about it, I believe I was also offered the 20th, but I was so excited that I totally forgot!

Mass email invite to VA Northern California! Interview dates are Jan 2, 7, 10, 17, and 22. Application was submitted on 10/30.
 
Just received an invitation to interview at the University of New Mexico. I applied to the pediatric neuropsych track but this seemed like a generic and mass email.
 
Generic email invitation to Patton (neuropsych track- if there was one-- they're jumbling)
Interview dates are multiple. 5 in December starting 12/17 and one on most days in January.
Application was sent out 10/23
 
Received a generic email on December 3rd. Interview dates are Wednesday, January 9 and Wednesday, January 16th.

Official rejection from Utah State University. 3 rejections, 1 interview, 15 no response. I'm trying to stay positive but feel very anxious today.

Email with attachment stating rejection from Jacobi Medical Center, with a separate email to be sent notifying me of my status at North Bronx Central Hospital. Ugh.

Got one as well. I know it's so competitive out there but the places I thought I would for sure get an interview are sending me rejections. Trying not to take it personally and be happy that I have an interview already and still waiting to hear from 15 sites. Hate this process.

When sites say 8-4:30, is is truly 4:30, out the door, on a plane, do sites (in your experience) tend to run over time?

I've emailed a couple sites about that, whether it would be problematic for me to leave early to catch a flight and the responses that I've gotten back are that this would not be an issue.
 
Personalized interview invitation via e-mail from NUMC in NY. Interview dates are December 11th, 14th, 17th, 20th, and 21st, and January 3rd, 7th, and 11th. They also said that other interview dates are available if these don't work.

I received an invite as well. It was by email, and it was personalized in that it was addressed to my name, but I think the body of it was probably standardized across applicants.
 
Got a generic email invite to interview at FSU counseling center. Skype interviews take place in December, on-site interviews for those who wish are taking place January 3, 4, or 10.
