Just heard from them at about 3:30pm EST today. Personalized email invitation. Interviews are January 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 22, but they say only about 4 applicants are interviewed each day so I imagine those slots will fill quickly.

I received a personalized e-mail invitation from them today - the instructions were to call to schedule an interview and the person on the phone indicated that I was one of the first to call (meaning that they probably haven't sent out all of their invitations yet?)

Ah, me too, hoping to hear good news from Salem as I applied after their first notification on 11/15. But it cant be good if another person heard today and we didn't. It is not impossible though!

Congrats to all who heard good news today... I received an invite for Patton State Hospital, Forensic Track today. 🙂
 
Also found out today that I did not get an interview with the Hunter Holmes McGuire (Richmond) VA. Ah well!

Generic rejection email from MDC Los Angeles. Very nice email though.

I have to say, I'm really appreciative that this forum is so positive and encouraging through all the rejections.
 
Invite for interview on 01/04, 01/07, 01/11, or phone interview via generic email! I applied 10/19.

This is my first interview after a series of rejections - I'm so excited!
 
Interview invite from Massachusetts Mental Health/Harvard Medical/Beth Israel Deaconness. Generic "dear applicant" email, General track. Interview date offered: Jan. 7.
 
Generic rejection e-mail received about 30 minutes ago. 😎

I submitted my app for the Columbia/NYP adult track on 10/25, got a phone call for an initial in-person interview (meeting with one person for 1/2 hour) on 11/12, had the interview on 11/19, and was told that I may be contacted in mid-December for a second interview which would take up a whole day and involve meeting with the training director and others. I haven't heard of anyone's preliminary interview being by phone for them, it wasn't offered to me and I was coming in from out of town (though thankfully only a few hours away by train). In the meantime I'm telling friends and family that I've managed to get 3.5 interviews so far - will bump it to four if I make it to Round 2!

The first Columbia interview may not be a screening thing. I have 2 interviews scheduled with them in one day, so the second isn't dependent on the first (unless they don't like me and cancel it lol!). So you may have 4 whole ones after all!

Sad about receiving a rejection from Patton State's forensic track 👎 & okay with a rejection from Center for Behavioral Medicine.

Guess I'll try again for Patton during my postdoc & I'll hope for the best from here on out! :xf:
 
Just received that generic rejection from MDC LA 🙁 Ah well, goodbye top site!

Don't worry, I applied half and half to BOP and State Hospital sites and I fully expected BOP invites...but in fact, I'm seeing the opposite happen, and am getting lots of BOP rejections! Sometimes I think we just have to go with the flow and understand that our post-docs are out there! 😛

though neither of those are my "areas" per se, your comment re: post doc has got to be true.

Regarding the Hines VA. I didn't see the invite till 4:30pm (about 2 hours after it was sent) and when they left a return voicemail on my phone at 5:45 they said only one day was filled--the 14th I think. So there's still space left. I am going to try to reach him again early tomorrow morning to clarify dates and supervisor availability, since he didn't address that in his message.

I haven't either and it's immensely frustrating. Not sure if we should be taking Greg's advice and contacting them or what.
 
Okay, I am operating under the "no question is a stupid question assumption." So, here it goes:
If you get an email from a site you applied to and they email you thanking you for the completed application, state that they are currently reviewing all applications, and will be notifying the top applicants to schedule interviews sometime this week.....is that exactly what they mean? The email was basically saying "be ready to rank interview slot times after you hear from us on this date...in a timely manner." Is this a common practice? I haven't heard from any other sites I've applied to, so I was excited to open the email! I guess I am hoping they've reviewed my application and I am being considered for an interview; even though I understand this was a generic email to all applicants. Any thoughts? Thanks.

So true, so true! I've applied to 6 FMCs & 10 state hospitals, but have heard from only one FMC. Please don't let it be a shower of FMC rejections tomorrow! :bang:

I don't think that's necessarily true. I was rejected from a site that sent a similar email.

Yes,that's exactly what they mean. I got the same email. Since you got the email, they received your application and it is being considered. They are being kind in letting people know that they will let you know this Friday, and they are hoping you can respond quickly with your preferred date so they can finalize their schedule before they go home for the weekend.

5 to 6 interviews Match rate = 85% n = 538
7 to 8 interviews Match rate = 92% n = 433
9 to 10 interviews Match rate = 95% n = 355
11 or more interviews Match rate = 99% n = 417

Got a source for this? APPIC I'm assuming, but do you have a link? I saw the application # to match rates but not this one. Would like to share with classmates

I contacted MMHC today, b/c I had not heard from them. They quickly sent back a non-personalized rejection email. So I would contact them to see about your application.
