This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Can I ask what date you requested for interview? I haven't heard from them either way and am curious if they are inviting by date.
I havent heard from them either and was wondering same thing-ClinPsychEnthus am curious what date you put down?

they replied that 12/20 is their interview date. Which is NOT the date I requested. Keepin my hopes up for this site, cause I hear they are great :xf:

Rejection from VA Central Western Massachusetts this afternoon. Not personalized.

what date did you put down? and for which track?

mm3908, if you have specific questions, please feel free to PM me. I'm trying to not put down real specific (and somewhat irrelevant to the thread itself) info on the main message board.

Thanks!

Haha, yeah, if they deeply regret it, maybe they should reconsider giving you an interview! lol

seriously! I've never externed there and even though many people from my program have interned at Manhattan VA, they are ALL former externs. I wasn't counting on it. NY is tough like that for locals. Luckily other states are better in this regard.

Did anyone apply to the Help Group? I went back to look on the APPIC site for information about when possible interviews will be offered and saw that they increased the Minimum number of intervention hours drastically. Has anyone encountered this problem?

It looks like The Help Group's minimum intervention/assessment hours requirement is currently listed at 550, which seems low. What was it listed as previously?

Yup, I applied there. No word yet for me. What do you reckon about the hour reduction? Maybe their original number was reflective of total hours rather than strictly intervention hours?

Also, I have down that they're doing individual interviews in January (no specifics) and then holding open houses 1/7, 1/14, and 1/21 or 1/28. Is that what you've got?

Mass email invitation for Greensville Correctional Center
Interview dates: January 14th or 22nd

😀

Unpersonalized email invitation to SUNY Upstate Medical University. In person interviews for the following days:

December 18th Tuesday
December 20th Thursday
January 2nd Wednesday
January 3rd Thursday
January 8th Tuesday
January 9th Wednesday
January 10th Thursday
January 16th Wednesday
January 17th Thursday

I applied to the child-track, but the email was not track-specific.

Yes. That is what I have as well and that we would be notified on the 15th. I wonder if they just changed it to combined hours. 550 for intervention is more than what I have. I have more than that combined but not for intervention. I would not have applied there if I did not meet the minimum

Call from training director, interview dates flexible and option of in person or phone interviews.

Yay! 🙂

Got a non-personalized email invite from the Lovell VA in North Chicago. Interview dates are first come first serve for Monday 12/17, Friday 1/4 or Thursday 1/10, and you can pick from either 8-12:30 or 12:30-4.

Oops, I misread your post and thought that they had reduced the minimum hours. Obviously wishful thinking on my part. Hmm. My guess is that it must be combined hours.

I've seen that a few people have now received invitations for interviews at SUNY Upstate. Has anyone been rejected yet?

I received a phone call from the DOT to schedule an interview (Skype, phone, or in-person) with the Univ. of Memphis Counseling Center. Their phone interview date was set for Jan. 10.

Invite from Puget Sound American Lake and Miami VAs. 👍 Rejection from Dayton. Heard from 11 places so far! 12 more to go!

I received a generic email invitation to interview. Interview scheduling is online and includes the following dates: 12/10-12/14; 12/17-12/18; 12/21; 1/7-1/10

Also, this is for their University Counseling Center; It is a phone interview

Thanks. For those of you who are out of school, licensed, and working- if I want to work in a medical setting- VA or not- will going to one of these sites always kill me/ put me a step below others, or is it only difficult for some jobs. For example, I will never work for BOP or (primarily) as a university faculty. Just not interested in those jobs. What kinds of problems would I face immediately after internship, and then for the remainder of my career?

I am just wanting to understand question and forgive me if I am slow on the uptake, but are you wanting a forensic faculty position and wondering about non-forensic predoc?

Unpersonalized email for an inperson interview on the following dates:

January 9th
January 11th
January 16th.

🙂

Today feels slow... I just want to hear from someone, even if it's a rejection. Still have 11 left to hear from! I'm happy about my 2 interviews, sad about my 2 rejections, but still.... anxious to hear from more soon.

Hey,
Does anyone know what the interview dates were last year for the North Texas VA (or where I could find that information)? Or even better, does anyone possibly know what they are for this year? Right now the brochure for this year simply says "two dates in January" and I'm terrified I'll end up not having dates free (not that I'm rolling in interviews or anything at the moment).

Anyway, thanks!

(PS: Info on when they called/emailed to offer interviews last year would also be greatly appreciated. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to find what happened last year on the forum. I see the thread, but there doesn't seem to be the super-awesome masterlist that was created this year.)

You WILL! Hang in there...I know you posted the message by Greg..read it over again to cope 😉 I'm in a similar boat...but i'm just savoring every day where I can keep hoping and dreaming about some of my top sites...if all the rejections rushed in it would be worse, I think.

Anyone heard from Phoenix Children's Hospital? It's not on the master list, but last year they notified people really early (11/17). I know that has no bearing on when they'll notify this year, but I'm surprised no one's heard from them yet...

Generic interview invitation via e-mail from Massachusetts Mental Health Center, with an interview date of Dec. 17th.

This is another example in favor of keeping your hopes up: they sent a generic interview e-mail yesterday for a different interview date (according to the master list), so I figured I could cross them off my list. But apparently, they weren't actually finished sending out invites yet. So hooray!

Congrats! And way to be encouraging/uplifting to others! Bonus points for you! 👍😀

generic rejection from Tucson VA

Same here, boo. Also a semi-personalized (my name was at the top) rejection email from UC Berkeley counseling center.

On the plus side, the email from the Tucson VA was titled "regrets from Tucson," so I didn't have to wonder what was inside.

Haha thanks Murielle =)

Ya know, I wonder how many of us will end up meeting one another while on interviews and not even know it.

These are the things I think about while I avoid the stack of papers I have to grade. And continuously refresh this thread and outlook!

I have not heard from them either. I was wondering the same thing.

Non personalized rejection email from the Mendota Institute in Madison Wisconsin.

ARH is neat, had a cohortmate that matched there 2 years ago.
I'm curious what your group therapy hours are, as that appears to be a sticking point for them, best as I can tell.
He said he loved his internship there, but.. they put a lot of pressure on people to get a provisional KY license.. and dismissed a person from internship for not doing it fast enough.

Folks from my program tend to get placed at ARH because they really like us. One of my closest friends from my program placed there two years ago also and he loved it. They actually require the psychological assistant license to be an intern for billing purposes I imagine. The credential seems real simple to get based on the paperwork I have seen. I saw quite a bit of that while applying .... sites requiring an master's level license. I imagine that this helps with billing. As far as group work I had 108 hours of face to face group time. I have no idea how that puts me in relation to others. I also had 825 face to face hours of individual therapy and 61 integrated reports. One thing that goes into this whole match process is informal contacts and past experience so I guess my getting an interview had something to do with their past experience with interns from my program.

Personalized email invitation to interview; dates 1/4, 1/11, and 1/18 (all Fridays) from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 pm

Generic, Dear Applicant, rejection from Patton State yesterday.

Very considerate, addressee personalized, rejection letter this morning from Marin County.

This one hurt a little more than the first one.

For those of you going on to interviews with them - do us proud, and best wishes! 🙂

For those that applied to LASPIC in Louisiana, did anyone that didn't get an interview NOT get waitlisted? I feel like they told everyone they were really rejecting that they were waitlisted. Everyone in my program that didn't get an interview got "waitlisted". Just curious!
