I am current taking pre-reqs and am wondering if anyone will be applying this summer? I was looking at CA schools and USC ask to visit the program in person and participate on info session before a student is able to apply. Anyone going to? I believe they only have 2 dates available for info session (one in may and one in June).

I wanted to apply for 2012, but the school I wanted to attend needed physics done before hand. This year I am expanding my choices around the country.

1. Wayne State
2. Eastern Michigan
3. Howard
4. St Augustine (Jan 2013 entry)
5. Dominican
6. Univ Toledo OTD

Overall GPA ~120 credits is 3.3, science is 3.6 right now.

My overall GPA is on the low end I know. Any recommendations on what other schools I should apply to?

Your GPA isn't bad at all and you have a good amount of hours. I am mostly applying to schools around CA and NY schools (which might not be the best idea bc they seem to be more competitive) because I live in NY and might move to San Fran.

If you don't care where you live I would suggest applying to more schools that have similar curriculum and pre-reqs than the ones already on your list.

Yeah that what I was thinking. Looking at Aotas website for schools a lot of them look like state schools or very competitive private schools. I personally dont care where in the country I end up in. I feel that the schools i listed above, are on the lower tier reputation wise and possibly grade wise, but I dont care about that either.

Just wanted to know peoples opinion to what other schools are within my grasp.

Btw, my volunteer ot hours is around 100 hours (ongoing) while general community service is over 100 hours from the past year (ongoing).

I have seen a lot of people saying that GPA didn't factor in as much as you would think. Volunteer counts for a lot i am not sure about community service but i would mention it- i have over 600 hours in community service and i will mention it for sure. I think you can apply to any school in the country because I'm pretty sure most schools ask for minimum of 3.0 (which you def have).

beestrng, You should try applying to Western Michigan as well. They have 2 locations, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.

Yeah I know right. I just dont like Western and want to avoid it like the plague. Im probably going to apply there this year though. I took physics for no reason... 🙁

assuming if I am accepted there.

What's awful about Western? I understand if it's just one of those sort of places you dislike, I have a few of those myself. But am curious if there is something I don't know. Haha

Thus far I have found WMU to be more organized and involved with their applicants than many other places I applied to the past 2 years. PITT has also been great both as an applicant and after being accepted. So I highly recommend them as well to people. Unfortunately I am probably turning down PITT. LOVE the program, but long term logistically and financially it isn't the right program for me.

Where else were you accepted gymnastau? You are so baller.
