It seems that the administrative assistant will get back in touch with us in the coming weeks. I just emailed them to confirm receipt of the email. So glad for this interview invite since I already got 2 rejections today 🙂

Oh that is REALLY messed up. Because this process isn't anxiety-producing enough. I didn't apply there, but if I did, I'd be tempted to respond with a snarky email.

Don't feel too bad, but sorry for the parents who wanted me to live near them! And speaking of parents, trying to explain this process to them is confusing. They don't understand how it's not like a normal job search... (Eg, "You usually get all the jobs you apply for" and "I know someone who works at..."!)

Yeah it's a bummer ;-/ Congrats to you though! I think this has "traumatized" me a little in that I won't trust that i have an interview until im actually at the site!

So I emailed my list of preferred interview dates to CRH yesterday morning and haven't heard back. Has anyone else heard back?

I was offered an interview at the University of Colorado School of Medicine on 11/30. I emailed back the same day with my preferred dates, and have yet to hear back. Anyone else in the same boat?
 
I replied within hours of that late night email but didn't hear back the next day, so I emailed the administrative assistant again because I had gotten another interview on my 2nd choice date and wanted to request my 1st choice. She emailed me back and said she already had me down for my 1st choice (but hadn't told me). I think you're totally warranted to email her and confirm!

I can totally relate about explaining this to other folks! That is what my well-meaning co-workers say all the time. Also my dad recently asked me, "So this is a clinical job? It's what, a year long? And you'll do therapy all the time?" I wanted to pull my hair out! Seriously, Dad? I've been telling you about this for 6 months.

I feel like this aspect of the application process makes it difficult to get much meaningful support from anyone except current interns and recent interns. Even advisors went through this process so long ago...it was much different. Whenever I get together with other people who are also going through this process I feel like it just becomes a rant session and it's even more stressful. UGH. Is it the end of February yet?

Let me just go roll out that sugar cookie dough :corny:
 
So far I have 5 interviews and 4 rejections (9 unknowns). It seems to me that the closer it gets to the 15th the slower time moves. I just want my life back! Even when I have some "free time" it is usually wasted pontificating about internship, preparing for interviews, or browsing appic!

Yep! My favorite is "why can't you just do something local around here?" or "I don't understand what's the big deal?"

Hahah this made me laugh so much (the explaining the process to parents part, not the rejection part!!). My parents are under the impression that I will be getting "tons of offers" and "turning places down." Sigh....

Yes, explaining this to my parents is impossible! They seem to think that I should also be able to negotiate a salary and ask for sites to pay for hotel/travel accommodations.🤔

I'm sorry but I feel they should interview everyone who was sent an incorrect email. That is just cruel and unusual punishment!
 
IU School of Medicine invite for General Track with Open Emphasis. Personalized email. Interviews are on 1/5 or 1/12. This was my top choice - now I can breathe!

I completely agree. They messed up so they should deal with the consequences and set aside time to interview more people than they originally intended. This scenario is my worst nightmare of this entire process. Geez...I guess we should email all sites "No Take Backs!" when we get an interview offer. :laugh:
