I'm waiting to hear from them too but nothing so far.
Also still waiting for Baltimore neuropsychology.

What have you heard about it? I'll be there dec 19...Any helpful hints on the Denver VA interview? Heard it's rough.
I heard we'll need to conceptualize case vignettes and interpret sample assessment data they provide to us. However, I don't think my source (a very competitive applicant) is entirely reliable; but I don't know. Is there anyone on this site who interviewed there last year? I checked last years interview thread but didn't see anything. What have you heard about it? I'll be there dec 19...

Personalized rejection from Dartmouth, received 11/28.
Same here. I was put off by the scheduled Friday after Thanksgiving rejection. There's a general lack of sensitivity coming from some sites.
I feel prepared to conceptualize cases, but, admittedly, finding out I'll need to interpret a sample Rorschach did intimidate me. Guess I better study up in that area if it's more common than I anticipated. Thank you for your words of encouragement, Psychrat and good luck to you as well! Not to scare you, but those tasks are quite standard for interviews. They are not really interested in what you say, but your thought process (what you would rule out, what other questions/info you would want to know). I didn't interview at that site last year, but interviewed at seven other competitive sites. I learned not to treat it as if you are being tested which is much more anxiety provoking, but more of a way for them to see how I think as a clinician. Good luck!
Has anyone heard from Vanderbilt's Counseling Center track yet? It's part of the consortium.
I'm a guy, so does that make it awkward if I still say that little ditty?
The Lexington va (general track) is also offering interviews on Dec 19. I received a call on the 26th and the DCT gave me the option of either 12/19/14 or 1/9/15.Lexington VA invite via phone call on 11/28 from the training director. Interview is on January 9th, and they are only offering one date for interviews.
has any one got an email much later than the dates listed above? I know I got one interview a couple days after one of the dates a site first notified people (or at least what we know of on this forum).... I'm wondering what is the longest gap anyone has seen so far from this date on this forum vs. the on in their email? Basically... one of the sites I REALLY WANT sent out a mass email and I did NOT get oneHow long until I give up hope?
Don't worry...I'm still trying to think positive
but this might give me some closure and help me move on!

It seems like brushing up in several areas is helpful prep! I am planning to look over theory and some assessment stuff in addition to materials specific to the site. It seems better to feel confident that we prepared, even if we end up not needing to go to the trouble. One of my weekly seminar professors keeps reminding us each week when we bring in our interview panicking - "You know more than you think you do." Let's just keep reminding ourselves that!I feel prepared to conceptualize cases, but, admittedly, finding out I'll need to interpret a sample Rorschach did intimidate me. One of the students in my program is going around giddily telling everyone, "I got a rejection! I'm so happy!" because she was one of the last people to hear back from any sites and is beyond thrilled she at least heard something, regardless of what that is. May you get to be that person soon - rejection or otherwise! 🙂I know that hearing nothing from any of my sites yet isn't good or bad news but I just want to hear something. Seriously. Not knowing anything is driving me batty.
That sounds weird to me. More like denial. I'd rather panic if getting only rejections and no invites at all. "Rejection" and "happy" do not go together in my book! One of the students in my program is going around giddily telling everyone, "I got a rejection! Some are more rejection sensitive, others more uncertainty sensitive; to each their own. That sounds weird to me. More like denial. I'd rather panic if getting only rejections and no invites at all. "Rejection" and "happy" do not go together in my book!

I think we'd have to see this person to really have a sense, otherwise it's just projection. But we all use defense mechanisms and that is what it sounds like to me.
Because others had heard back from sites, and she hadn't heard a peep, she was starting to worry she had incorrectly submitted her apps or that there was some major glitch. So having some sort of recognition (albeit not the best news) completely alleviated her fears that she had done something incorrectly. So that's why she was happy. That sounds weird to me. Yep! My projection was that she was just happy to have some kind of confirmation that her apps were actually received! Love this thread of soon to be psychologists analyzing a sentence we all read..![]()

I was simply saying that we don't know what was going through her head. Anybody who that they knew was engaging in projection or psychic equivalence. Seems clear to me. Thankfully, Heartdignan supplied us with an answer.Yep! My projection was that she was just happy to have some kind of confirmation that her apps were actually received! A sample Rorschach? At the site that made us choose from a list of APA Div12 ESTs when describing our therapy experience? I'm having a tough time seeing that. If that's the case, take comfort in knowing that I'll be right there with you. I'll be the guy saying, "Sorry, we were always steered away from the Rorschach during training." So no matter what, your answer will not be the worst! 🙂
It is already after 6pm here on the east coast, so it is doubtful that we will hear from any more sites this weekend. Good luck to everyone. I am sure a bunch will come next week. May we all receive positive news next week 🙂
Rejection from Washington DC VA Medical Center received via mass email (personalized with my name though, but looked stock) tonight 11/29/14 at 911PM. (Also, who is at work on a Saturday night?). 🙂
Ditto to the rejection! :/ So it goes.My. Exact. Question! Got same rejection.
Same here, looks like a lot of us got hit with this one.Ditto to the rejection! :/ So it goes.

Actually, I applied last year (didn't match, hence why I'm still here) and have found quite the opposite. I never, ever received a rejection- and trust me, there were a lot of those- before someone received an interview. There were a few instances that they were sent within minutes of each other, but the vast majority came days or weeks after people received invitations. I'm happy to report that I'm doing much better this year and am observing the same pattern (i.e., people posting they received rejections days or weeks after I received an interview).Normally most sites send out rejection letters first so if you did not receive a rejection letter you may still be offered an interview. Most APA sites interview 25-30% of applicants. Some will not be able to interview based on too many sites wanting to interview and some will cancel or not show up. This is part of the reason some are offered interviews later on. Diversity requirements may factor into the equation. It is hard to meet diversity requirements for some small rural sites.
I have been told the same - that many sites don't ever send out a rejection notification and that many sites send them out very, very late.Actually, I applied last year (didn't match, hence why I'm still here) and have found quite the opposite. Also, FWIW, last year there were 2 instances where people had received rejections and invites and I'd heard nothing. After December 15th, I e-mailed the training directors to inquire about my status and basically, there was a rejection sent to me but they'd omitted my middle initial in my e-mail address.
