Rejection - Roger's Memorial Hospital. Mass email (unpersonalized). CBT / OCD track.

Not going to lie this one hurt. How is it that I thought places I was a perfect fit at rejected me and my reach programs all gave me interviews.
DITTO! This process makes absolutely no sense. It's very strange.

Same. Ugh. Is it too soon to ask for feedback. I thought I was a perfect fit.

I also am waiting to hear from Dr. Linton. He responded to my initial email and asked me to rank order my preferences for the dates of their open houses, but I haven't heard anything since.

Exactly how important is it to request an invite to one of the open houses. I guess I understood from the website that not attending an open house would not impact your application at all. Thoughts on this? Maybe my assumption is wrong and I should request a date? It is kind of a mystery process, but I appreciate their approach.

He has responded to my questions about the site and was very pleasant and personable.

VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System - Topeka location

Invite today via personal email.

No track.

Dates: January 8, 9, 15, or 16. Asked to rank preferred dates.

Have you heard back from Topeka about your interview date yet? I responded to the TD email shortly after she sent it on Mon, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I think if you're in communication with him and with any other faculty you'd be interested in working with (on a specific rotation), then you're good and you don't need to request an invitation to the open house. I only live 3 hours away and would rather visit in person than communicate by email, so I'd like to go up if possible. I'm with you- I like that they're flexible, but I also find it kind of confusing..

Heads up people. Some sites are beginning to work through their waiting list. I just got a call from one of my sites that had sent out invites before Thanksgiving (unfortunately I had to decline, because I have made a significant amount of other travel plans).

Just a reminder that if a weird phone number appears, answer it!

Congrats!! What time did they called you? Has anyone heard from Columbia as well? Hopefully I get some good news 🙂

Have any of you had success rescheduling interviews when you've had conflicts? I hate to turn an interview down, but I may have to if I can't move other interviews around.

From what I was told by my DCT, it is okay to ask sites to move your interview, especially if you are travelling from out of state. Sites understand the process and it does not count against you if you ask to move your interview. I may have to do that as some conflicts may arise, but I can't yet answer to the "success rate" of it. I hope that tidbit of info helps though.

Thank you! They called mid-afternoon. I know some rejections went for the child track went out today via mass email. So it seems like they are slowly working through all the apps. Hopefully you will get some good news!

alright my little frequent flyers, i don't want to check a bag. how are people bringing suits on planes and not getting them wrinkled whilst simultaneously adhering to the one carry on one personal bag limit?:roflcopter:

I think using a garment bag is the best way to keep it from getting wrinkled. But I hate trying to carry a garment bag, so I just pack my suit and iron/steam out the wrinkles when I get to the hotel. It is usually pretty easy and works well.

I bought the Joy Mangano mini steamer when it was a Today's Special on HSN a couple months ago for this reason. I used it for the first time today after I'd crammed my suit into the wad the size of a softball. It worked flawlessly. Most hotels usually have irons/boards in the room. My mom also swears by hanging clothes in the bathroom, closing the door, and turning the shower on hot until the room is steamy and basically steams out the wrinkles. I've never found this to work but she truly believes in it. Hang up your suit as soon as you get to your room and work on it right away with whatever method you're using.
