When is the peak of II season? I applied early everywhere and numerically I am ~75. The only news I have had in 2 weeks is a rejection from Georgetown 🙁

Yo, I have no idea. My guess is that if you're a more well-rounded less stressful person then we tend to be up in here, we should probs legitimately worry around November.

No offense.. but I came across your post in the "# of interviews in August" thread. With 6 IIs are you seriously panicking? -_-

The way I see it, until you have a solid acceptance in hand, you should still be looking into/doing things to strengthen your application. Does that mean you should be worried at this point in the cycle if you don't have any II's? Not necessarily, because it's still very early; there's plenty of posts on SDN from people who got a flood of interviews in Dec-March and eventually got accepted. There is an element of "randomness" to the admissions process that you will never be able to fully consider.

But in the event that you do have to reapply, it'll be easier (and look much better) if you have a consistent upward trend in your application strength, rather than a year-long gap because you thought that you were going to be admitted the previous cycle. You'll also have more things to update the adcom on if/when you interview during this cycle, which can only help you get accepted. Honestly, the only negative of prepping early is that you might be putting in some unneeded extra effort, but what's really the harm in that? You still used that time to help the community (if volunteering) or do things (research, clinical work) that will ultimately make you a better physician.

Passed the primary screening (not rejected) from Rosalind Franklin today. That's good, right?
 
It's getting unbearable waking up every morning expecting an II and getting nothing. Really trying to adjust my expectations at this point. We're well into September and I've been complete most places since August 1st, yet haven't heard anything from 19/21 schools I've applied. Starting to realize that I'm probably on the silent reject list at a bunch of those schools.

Not true, if you look at the school-specific threads and peoples' complete dates, most schools are just getting to people complete at the beginning of August.

that's how exactly how i've been feeling the whole time. 2 rejects, 1 hold and all else silence (28 schools total)

Absolutely not. Maybe you aren't the first pick at some schools, but doesn't mean you are out. I would wait until the end of the month and even then some schools will keep you on file just in case.

I was complete late July and got some love recently. So just hold tight. If you applied broadly I'm sure you will get something.

I'm in the same boat as you. And while I'm pleased as well, it's still a bittersweet feeling ya know?
 
I was having a blast in the west coast for 2 weeks, zero news from med schools.
Back for 1 day. II from a top school
I learned my lesson: Fun time = No II.
No more fun time for me.
 
Gonna start panicking now. I was only complete at most of my SOM's in the last week because some of my letter writers were slow :barf:Feeling pretty worried over here
 
Same boat with the letter writers, Saxappeal. On the one hand, we've only been complete a week, so we shouldn't really start worrying until mid-October from what I can tell. On the other hand, it's already mid-September and we've only been complete a week...

Plus, if you're anything like me, you can't focus on anything other than the reasons why you shouldn't be offered an interview. Of course, there are plenty of reasons why you should as well (I assume), it's just that they're harder to see without an invite.

(I'm not even beginning to think about acceptances at this point. Just give me a chance at the interview for goodness' sake!)
 
I was in major panic mode so I changed to the smartest penguin I know on Monday, and then 2 II's this week! There's no way that was just a coincidence, so I'll take it as a sign.

3.4 sGPA
