When was your primary verified? Mine was verified 6/25 but I just applied today since I received my MCAT yesterday.

Verified on 6-12-14.
I would also really love to go here. I hope I get past the screen!
Anyone get the secondary yet? Still waiting here.
Just got the confirmation email saying I will get a decision about a secondary shortly.
Looking at the class photos, this school does not seem to have had any /many black or URM members. Does anyone have an idea about why they think this is?

I got an "AMCAS primary received" email from them a week ago. Is that the email you're talking about, or did you get a different one?
I got the same e-mail a week ago as well. A friend of mine is matriculating at VTC in August and he mentioned that they screen fairly heavily throughout each step of the application process; also, the first secondary received post from last years thread was July 12th, so its likely that we have a little more waiting to do.

Ah, that's good. Not that my hopes went any higher, but I'm back to zen.

LOL you're not joking, I just looked them up on the MSAR and they had NO BLACK KIDS in their last class...
I'm hesitant to submit, it doesn't look like they've had any ever.... I don't want to be alone.
But maybe I'll have a better chance at getting in?

+? on the secondary. Also from the website:
Phase II: Secondary Application
The decision to send a secondary application invitation to an applicant will reflect the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine's commitment to attracting a diverse body of learners who will likely achieve academic success in the rigorous academic setting of medical school, while experiencing further growth in other important aspects of professionalism. Holistic reviews of each application will be made before making a decision about whether or not to invite a secondary application. Only the most academically qualified applicants who present records indicating that they would benefit most from the innovative medical curriculum at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine will be invited to complete a secondary application. Applicants will be required to submit a $50 non-refundable application fee along with their secondary application.
Students who are invited to submit an online secondary application will be notified by e-mail, and provided a link to access the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine's secondary application.
VTCSOM will be seeking students who are interested in making contributions to greater society through a life-long career of inquiry, including the practice of evidence-based medicine, clinical and basic science research, and scholarship. Applicants who have experience in inquiry, research, scholarship, innovation, or leadership are encouraged to apply.

Congrats to everyone that got the email today!
Got the secondary too! I am appreciative of the low fee and that they interview on weekends! Nice job, VTC! 🙂
I just saw that part about research. I'm probably not getting one. Oh well, on to other secondaries :/
I got one last year having zero research, it's not over yet.I just saw that part about research. I'm probably not getting one. Oh well, on to other secondaries :/
In the midst of all my secondaries, I didn't even realize vtech screened so competitively. Pretty excited about that! Now, to not change their minds about me... 😉

I don't have the greatest stats either though, hence why I'm not so positive about it anymore.
If you don't mind sharing what were your stats?
