I was complete on 8/12 and my app was distributed on 8/17. I ran into my program director on 8/17 and he said that was the first day apps were distributed to him. So I wouldn't be too concerned if your app hasn't been distributed yet because it really hasn't been that long.
 
Congratulations! I submitted mine 8/4 and my app was distributed 8/11. However, I did not get any offers from Rochester 🙁
 
I think they distribute in waves... I was complete in july and called and they said first wave didnt go out till august 17.... Just call sf match and ask, not sure why they dont put that info on their website
 
Mine was complete 8/20 and distributed 8/25. How can they send them in waves if everyone has different dates they were sent to programs? An applicant from last year I know said the turn around time is ~4 days until mid September, then who knows.

I think they just send it out as soon as it's ready and the programs themselves do with them as they please (1st come 1st serve, or not).

Not sure about this "waves" business, but someone could enlighten me if I am missing something.
 
Thats strange because my completed app was sitting with them from like july 20th and didnt distribute till Aug 17th---when i called to ask why they said they werent sending out any apps until the 17th.... Also the program coordinator at my home institution told me they receive the apps in "waves"

Do you guys know what the program specific deadlines mean? I submitted electronically weeks ago, and my packet was confirmed received earlier this week. If it's not distributed yet is it past the deadline, or does that refer to the electronic submission? A few of my top choices have deadlines next week so I'm a bit nervous.
 
IIRC, those deadlines meant when the program physically had the application. Call SFmatch and tell them to get rolling!
 
Anyone heard from CPMC or Georgia? They were early last year, but so far no word....?

I was wondering the same about CPMC...I haven't heard anything yet either though.

Looks like Jacksonville, SLU, and Henry Ford will/should be sending out invites in the next few days based on last year's data.
 
Long time lurker, first-time poster!

Does anyone have thoughts about Nassau University Medical Center? I don't want to make assumptions about the program before even interviewing there but there have been several things that have struck me as concerning thus far. Their initial interview offer email arrived at 9:00pm EST on 9/2 (strange that it was sent so late at night) and as of today I have not yet received a reply from them confirming the interview day. Also, I just now received a blank email from them at 11:00pm EST. Seems a bit unorganized. Thoughts?

I received an email late last night as well, and the coordinator confirmed the date of my interview. She may have accidentally sent a blank email to you. I would let her know...
 
These schools included interview dates in their email that they received my application. Probably common knowledge for everyone who applied, but just in case:

Rush University: Wednesday, October 28th and Friday, November 6th.
UT Southwestern: 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/20, 12/04

Hey guys, I am having a mini freak out since I see all these interviews go out and I still have not gotten any. I know its early but they are not even the most competitive spots out there right? Any other person out there on the same boat or am I having a bad start?

In the same boat...but don't sweat it too much. Interview offers are just now starting to roll out. Yes a lot of programs send out offers in September but a majority of them go out in October, I would not worry too much if I were you.
Last year the students I know that matched into Ophtho from my school did not get their first offers until early/mid October. They both went on to have a successful interview trail with 13 interviews each.
If you notice on last year's interview thread, SLU and CPMC both sent out invites in multiple waves, so you might not be completely out of the picture yet.
I know its hard not to worry about this stuff, and I had the same mini freak out last night when I saw that CPMC and SLU sent out invites yesterday, but you'll be fine.

In their application receipt email today they said that we should hear via email beginning this week and continuing through early November.

As far as these receipt emails go, are only certain applicants getting them? Did you get an email from Wisconsin? I did not even though I applied.

I applied to Wisconsin but haven't rec'd a app confirm from them either. I've received comfirmations from Arizona, UTSW, and Yale, but that's it - no interviews yet; however according to this thread none of the schools I applied to have sent them out yet. I heard that UoWisc sends out interviews mostly to state residents... lik 70%. I wonder if this first wave is for the locals per the short notice...?

For some reason Wisconsin did not send email confirmations to everyone. Its bizarre. I got one but my friend did not. We applied from the same school and at the same time.
Maybe they are just doing it individually as they start going through the applications?
