FYI, when I interviewed, most sites asked if applicants needed accommodations (I did not, but I know others needed pump breaks, rest breaks, etc), and the site I was on for internship specifically asked applicants if anyone needed time/space for pumping. If they aren't accommodating for interviews, they likely won't be accommodating on internship.

And I remember getting one rejection and one invite on thanksgiving/within 24h of thanksgiving. Sorry, kids. 🙂

This conversation grew from my request for insight about navigating internship from grad student parents (prospective and/or current--input from all is welcome!)...I'm in the early stages of designing a descriptive study that examines our experiences as well as the perspective of internship training directors, and your thoughts are helpful in thinking about what questions would be meaningful to ask the broader population of interns & site staff. The goal of said investigation will be to give a more detailed context to the current recommendations (available here: http://www.appic.org/Portals/0/downloads/APPIC_GUIDELINES_FOR_PARENTAL_LEAVE_1-21-16.pdf) in order to strengthen support for parents & parents-to-be in a manner that can be streamlined across sites.

I also remember getting invites within 24 hours of thanksgiving. I also remember hating getting telemarketer calls from random area codes...

So I know this goes without saying but check it! I saw that many people posted about Rochester Medical Center's mass emails and I was really upset I didn't get an interview. Then, behold, I had an invitation sitting in my spam folder from THREE DAYS ago! I about fell out of my office chair. Goodluck everyone!
 
I just noticed a pretty significant error on my CV. Should I/ can I send the corrected CV via email? Or address it in interviews?

Mine too! I have to say I am so stressed out. I have applied to two sites that sent out invites and rejections but I have not gotten them. It's making me think my email is not working or I wrote the wrong email down (I know this isn't true and they have my phone number also)

Last night I looked on the previous years thread and most of the places seem to send it out last week of November and first week of December. That seemed to calm me down a little. I wish I just heard from someone! Ugh anyways thanks for listening. Good luck everyone☺️

Your milage may vary and others may advise differently, but if you sent one to the site I am at now it is very likely that it would not matter since we are halfway through the reviews already. What type of error?

It depends on the CV, my colleague had reported an inaccurate practicum date (3 months vs 9 months) and asked our clinical training director what to do ( our DCT said to email each training director with the corrected cv). My colleague said that all of the sites were pleasant when responding to this update. But when in doubt- always ask your training director.

I got rejected there today too. I was pretty disappointed since I thought it was my strongest cover letter. UA is my alma mater and I used to teach students on their student hotline- so I thought this internship would be a natural professional progression. Oh well! Thanks for posting this though!

My partner and I have been really sticking to our meal plans and I think it's really helping my mood.

And then I baked and proceeded to start eating a loaf of bread yesterday. :happy: Only one real day of eating my feelings so far!

That is a great point! I guess no news is good news? :/ for now lol also a lot my sites were due around 11/15 and I feel like that may be too soon to hear something!?
