I had a few moments where I was like, "I am not qualified to be judging this person." Heh.
Also, yes, McLean invited in batches the year that I applied. I believe it was the last invitation that I received, sometime in December.
I haven't heard yet from the Boston VA re: dates. From their email, it seems that the deadline to submit preferred dates to them is tomorrow (12/1), so maybe they're still waiting to hear from all invitees before they figure out the scheduling?

I am child, I did not know they do adults too.
Lurie is only kids. It is attached to Northwestern's hospital, which is a separate site and where adults are seen.
Anyone else starting to seriously doubt your site selections? I feel like I aimed too high and now I am going to crash and burn.
I literally talked with a classmate about Phase II today.

Even with just one or two interviews you have an almost-60% chance of matching. And I doubt you've heard from all your sites yet!APPIC Match Statistics said:

I'm going to say yes. I'm vacillating wildly between calm patience (knowing that 15 sites of mine have yet to send any type of notification) and doomsday thoughts (planning for phase II/ what I will do if I have to wait another year for internship). Seriously, how are ya'll coping?
Has anyone heard from Cincinnati Children's Hospital? Or Boston Children's Hospital?

I don't think we talk much about the number of rejections most of us will receive. If we, on average, apply to 16 sites, and we get around 5 interviews (with a 91% match rate)- we should still expect to receive 11 rejections. 11.

Especially for those ~450 people who applied to 20-30 sites! Man.
So I know the DC VA made a phone call(s) a week or so ago...I still haven't heard anything...anybody else heard anything? Perhaps that ship has sailed...

crickets for me as well. I've already mentally accepted the "rejection" and removed their dates from my calendar but man would it be nice if I could get a rejection instead of false hope!

Same here. Most of my sites have not notified anyone (and a few have sent invites, but not to me). I'm coping like you, in waves! One moment, I'm patient, the other, I'm thinking of contingency plans. I've been coping by talking with family/friends and running a lot more. My husband says it's because I want to run as far away as I can from the process! On the positive side, I've been running faster lately. 😛

Now those are statistics that no one talks about. Not MATCHING chances, but what are the chances of receiving an invitation based on the number of applications sent out?
They must have those stats... but they don't report them. Part of me wishes they released the whole dataset! Annoyingly, I also noted that 2,607 applicants reported how many interviews they received, but "2,729 applicants (64% [of those who registered for the Match]) completed some or all of the survey". So either 122 received no interview invite at all, or didn't get to question 17.
I have not received a confirmed interview date yet. I am assuming the same - that we will hear back after they have received all responses by 12/1.

Does anybody happen to know when we might expect to hear back from Canadian sites? I have Canadian citizenship but I'm attending an American graduate school. I figured I would apply to a handful of programs in my homeland, but I haven't heard anything back yet from those sites. Anyone in a similar boat?

I don't know if Boston Children's has sent out invites, but I know that Cincinnati sent out their invites on 11/14. I didn't hear anything either way from Cincinnati, but am not optimistic about getting an invite at this point. HOWEVER, I did get an invite to another site I applied to a week after they sent out their initial round so there's definitely still hope!

Canadian sites will almost all be announced this Friday, December 2. They do a coordinated interview announcement day. Last year all but one I applied to adhered to the day, so you should hear on Friday!

I am really freaking out this week as well, so many rejections but I am still waiting to hear from 14 other places. Sucks we are all going through this but thankful for you all as well! Happy to not being going through this Crazy process (& feelings of self doubt) alone

Another positive outlook: if you do match to one of these sites you aimed high at, you'll be very glad you did.
How am I doing with my therapy skills? Can I cite this when I interview?
