Deadline was January 15th. Should find out in a few weeks! Did anyone else apply here? 🙂

I applied to Mt Mary, UW-La Crosse and UW-Milwaukee. UWM is my first choice, but I also like Mt. Mary when I toured it. I know they said 2-3 weeks, but I've already been checking my email over and over to see if they've sent anything!

I think they have a two step admission process. I passed the initial one, but am currently finishing up 1 final prereq.

Wonder how competitive I am?
Gpa 3.5
Prerequisite: 3.7
OT: will have 200 hours
Volunteer: will have 300 hours

When I toured, I think they said last cycle they got around 175 applicants, and admitted a cohort of 48. From how they described it, it sounded like they are only really looking at the 4 hours of shadowing and 10 of human service. Anything more is fine, but the only real advantage is it might give you more insight and make your personal statement/shadowing/human service narratives stronger.

What I submitted had...
Last 60 credits GPA (all they look at): 4.0
Pre-req GPA: Probably 3.9ish. One AB, all others A
Shadowing: 10 hours at a hand clinic
Human services: 1000+ providing ABA therapy
And I had 2 undergrad instructors do the recommendation forms.
 
I applied and still haven't heard anything back yet. Hopefully this week we will find out!
 
It looks like from the thread from last year they let people know the 17th, or around there. So should be soon, hopefully!
 
Just want to know! Not sure if I should call and ask when they will have a decision by? We are going on week 5!

I would email them! I did that last year when the same thing happened (waiting way past the deadline) and they got back to me pretty quickly.

Did they notify you about their admission decision last year by email or regular mail?

I emailed the admission department and they said they haven't finalized things yet, and are hoping to send mail out letters by the end of next week. So looks like we'll be waiting a little while longer!
 
Hey guys, just wanted to tell you that they are still delayed in their admissions decision. I just emailed them and she said they are hoping to get decisions emailed out in hopefully 2 weeks from now. So hang tight! The waiting is becoming too much lol

Hi there! I am SO glad I found you guys.

I have also been hanging by a thread here for the last few weeks awaiting Mount Mary's OT decision for 17-18. Poor Kirk - he is probably bombarded with applicant questions. Your posts have really put me at ease. When March 1st hit, I started putting together plan B at different University's including UWM and La Crosse. The thing is - I want to study OT at Mount Mary. I did my undergrad there and cannot see myself anywhere but.

Good luck to all of us!!!! I cannot even imagine what it is like to have to be the ones who must decide. Obviously, if we are all this anxious - we must REALLY be dedicated to becoming OTR.
 
I got my first bachelors from UWL and could go on and on about how great the school and community is! If Mt. Mary doesn't work out for you (but fingers crossed it does!) I'd be more than happy to give you any advice, thoughts, etc. on La Crosse. I did graduate in 2007, so some things have changed but I still go back to visit the city at least once a year.
I got a second degree from UWM and was just accepted to their masters program, which I will be attending. So if you have any questions, I could help you out as there as well!
But hopefully you'll find out soon that you were accepted at Mt. Mary!

Thank you for the La Crosse support. I love it there, and it would certainly save me some cash.
 
I guess they have no idea when they will be sending out letters. :arghh: Guys..... this wait is horrible! Must have been a lot of people who applied.

Did you just email them? Not this past Friday but the one prior I was told they would hopefully be sending them out in 2 weeks. Meaning this Friday we should hear back.
 
I emailed them on the 7th and they said that the OT department is still finalizing decisions. I hope we all hear back tomorrow! That would be great 🙂

OK - now the waiting is getting to me. The ball is rolling at the other schools, but I am holding out for this one - it is a FABULOUS program. :luck:
Tomorrow is Friday - YIKES.
 
Here is to hoping we hear good news today! May the luck of the Irish be with us and we hear some good news lol or any news for that matter
 
Anyone hear anything? I'm tempted to send another email but I don't want to be too pushy.
 
I still haven't heard anything. I was hoping we would hear back either way before the weekend begins.

I did not get any news today. I am tempted to call on Monday, but I am scared it will just irritate them. It really cannot be too much longer. Hang in there!!!

Not a peep. This is why schools should not put response times, because then we just obsess and freak out because it's WAY past the time we were suppose to hear back.

I am questioning why they have not been more straight forward with response times. It is a little strange for them. I know that many of the gals (and a guy) have just went ahead and taken openings they were offered at other schools instead of waiting, and maybe this is what they want. You are right - with ambiguity comes speculation. Hopefully, they will come to a conclusion this week. I do have options, but the suspense lingering from Mount Mary is killing me slowly. I honestly feel as though my life is on hold.

Well, cannot do much but wait, maybe prey. Again, I am really glad I am not alone in this boat.
 
I just got an email I am waitlisted, and they are sending out official decision letters this week.
It also shows me as waitlisted on my my.mtmary.edu account (Login ->Admissions ->I have already applied -> View Folder Items), so I'm guessing if you're accepted/denied, it would also be there, but I'm not sure.

Is anyone else having a hard time viewing their application status? I know I've checked it previously by logging in and going to Admissions and I have already applied, but now when I click on the Admissions tab, the I have already applied link is not there

That's weird, mine is still there. After I go into admissions, it's the last option on a side bar to the left. I'm logging on using a laptop, so maybe if you're doing it on a phone or tablet it's different.

I am having similar problems as well, I cannot find the I have already applied link, either. I am using my laptop, so this is weird.

That is good new! Many people who are accepted decide they cannot make the financial and time commitment or have taken offers from other universities. Hopefully you can squeeze in by July:

I did not think to check my Mount Mary email until yesterday. I got in, and was notified Monday. I am very excited. It will be more expensive and time consuming then the other colleges, though I really like the instructors and the reputation of the program throughout local healthcare systems. I have enjoyed all of the support from this chat and honestly wish you all the best.

Oh you're so sweet! I actually found out 2 days ago that I got accepted into St. Ambrose's OTD program! Which was my top choice so I'm pretty excited! Good job on getting in as well and good luck!!!
 
I got into Mount Mary and will be attending! Anyone else here for sure attending Mount Mary//relocating to Milwaukee area? Will be moving from Chicago.
