good luck on the last one!! all ur stories giving me hope3.3 / 520 over here. I sent secondaries to 36 MD/DO schools and got 3 II's (2 MD + 1 DO). Two turned into WLs and I still have yet to go on the third interview (lol)
3.4 GPA, 520 MCAT. I went on 6 MD interviews, 4 acceptances - 1 WL - 1 Rejection, and going to my top choice.so anyone got any updates for the end of the cycle.
l i know which ones to add next year lolCincinnati, Hofstra, Dartmouth all showed me love and MSAR shows they like high MCATs/low GPA folks.
3.2 is mildly low and 512 is low enough to apply predominantly DO but not so low to worry. You scored better than 88% of other applicants. Be proud of that.3.2 sGPA, 512 MCAT. Am I just mediocre in both arenas at this point? Lmao.
(P.S. this isn't a WAMC)
512 is low enough to apply predominantly DO
*when paired with a 3.2 GPAWHAT?!
LMAO almost gave Wally a heart attack512 is low enough to apply predominantly DO
Man I just said this isn't a WAMC3.2 is mildly low and 512 is low enough to apply predominantly DO but not so low to worry. You scored better than 88% of other applicants. Be proud of that.
However, based on the AAMC MCAT/GPA grid, you only have a 40% shot at MD. You should be applying 25-35% MD (5-8 schools) and majority DO.
Man I just said this isn't a WAMC
Just answering your question.Am I just mediocre in both arenas at this point?
Debatable. My stats are almost identical and MD schools seem to be giving me a chance so far. However, I can't deny that URM status and unique ECs are likely helping.*when paired with a 3.2 GPA
URM makes all the difference. 3.2/512 overall is a 40% acceptance. 3.2/512 ORM is a 29% acceptance. 3.2/512 URM is a 67% acceptance. However, I can't deny that URM status and unique ECs are likely helping.
But I had a 3.4 until 60 credits ago...We swears we belong... we sweeeeeaaaars.@MemeLord, I like you, but you are not welcome in the low GPA/high MCAT thread...

Hey, we have the same stats. Get back to our thread traitor.Technically this thread is for last cycle, so are any of us really welcome here?
Congratulations on your acceptances! Was your grad GPA an SMP by chance? Asking because I have similar stats GPA wise (3.50 cGPA, 3.46 sGPA with upward trend 3.23 - 3.25 - 3.53 - 4.0) and a 4.0 Grad GPA (non-SMP). Both MS and BS degrees are in biochem. Started the MS program before deciding on the MD path so it is totally unrelated to GPA repair/MD apps. Yet to take the MCAT but the preparation process so far has been very encouraging.Johns Hopkins UG GPA 3.42 (3.24 science), Grad GPA 3.75, with 520 MCAT. I have completed the secondaries for 32 schools a month ago and I haven't gotten any interview invites. I am starting to feel a little neurotic.
