In the 2025-26 application cycle, ADEA's centralized application services will adopt a new personal statement prompt. The new prompt will be added to ADEA AADSAS ® and ADEA CAAPID ®. ADEA PASS ® and ADEA DHCAS® programs will be encouraged to use this prompt when setting up configurations. New prompt:

What motivated you to pursue a career in oral health?

In your response, you may wish to describe and highlight your strengths, experiences, backgrounds and uniqueness that will contribute to your success in this career.

Bumping for those of you drafting your PS for AADSAS.
hey! currently drafting a PS and applying to OMFS. is the PS not supposed to answer "why OMFS?", but rather "why oral health?"

i was under the impression that the PS should give a taste of your personality and explain your motivation for pursuing a certain specialty, as program directors will be reviewing them. please advise!

I'm not in charge of a residency program to know if more essays will come your way in ADEA PASS. Maybe a few post in the Dentists/Residents forum, especially in OMFS. The best advice I can give is just to answer the question in the context of the speciality you have chosen.
