2025-2026 Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Has anyone submitted a primary but not gotten any email of it being received / reviewed? I haven’t gotten anything from ARCOM and I submitted early July. I don’t have a portal or any rejection emails.

If we don't have any major changes to our application, such as a new volunteer or healthcare experience, should we put N/A?

OOS II 8/14, Secondary received and submitted 8/11

I was talking to a friend who is a student there who was talking with the Dean
They said they were told <23% get secondaries from over 6600 applications last year. So they screen pretty hard

Do you know the post interview acceptance rate by any chance?

Idk, but this makes me feel special lol.

OOS II, My personal URL says it is still being set up and I can't schedule an interview. Did anybody else have a problem with this?

Interviewing soon from OOS. How long is the interview day? I need to schedule a flight and wasn’t sure if i could schedule a late afternoon flight.

Also there is an invitation for someone to come with me and it seems like they would actually go to campus not just stay offsite. Did anyone bring a family member or just go solo?

Few years back, during my brother's interview, most applicants brought there parents with them

My wife came. They talk about the school with them in the room then gave the family members a tour of the campus. The the rest of the day a lot of peoples family members went off to explore the town.

For anyone who has interviewed, what questions do they typically ask, and is it more of a casual conversation?

I have an interview coming up on October 31st is this considered late? this is one of my top school and was wondering if anyone had any tips

very casual, just wanted to know who you are outside of medicine basically, i would focus on sdn questions but also make sure you have hobbies and other interests to connect with them about

Where can I find those questions to practice?

I am unable to travel to the school prior to my interview date. does anyone know if they hold virtual sessions to learn more about the school? everything i see seems to be in person?

Congrats! When did you get the email with the acceptance info? I got a call that I was accepted on 9/23, but haven't heard any thing since.
Congrats! I just got it like 10 minutes ago! Also got my call on 9/23.

Do they offer virtual interviews as well or is it all in person?

I got my II just today, but I noticed all available slots for interviews are closed for November and December. I am worried the delayed interview will affect my acceptance chances. There are dates in October, but no virtual ones are available, and an in-person event is impossible for me to make on the dates given. I would definitely go in-person if there were more spots.

What did you guys have to do that needed to check for more slots?

I think I saw somewhere the dean got let go by the CEO after the white coat ceremony and there's not replacement for the dean right now. The school has a ton of issues with staff leaving and students remediating

I was not a fan of the CEO either. My one suggestion to ARCOM would be to cut him out of the interview day entirely lol

FYI there’s a post on SDN about them firing the dean -

second year at arcom here, no one knows why the dean left. this is for her own privacy. i have spoken to faculty about this post and can confirm that if she was “walked out” it wasn’t anything malicious. we have an interim dean who is wonderful and very passionate about student success. there is a nationwide search going on because the school wants us to have the best dean possible. do not let the fact that dr jimenez left deter you from applying to/coming to ARCOM. it was inappropriate for my classmate to post this on reddit. again, we as students (and most faculty) don’t know why she left. there are so many reasons she could have left. yes arcom has a professor turnover rate but i personally have not been too impacted by it in terms of my education. sometimes new opportunities arise for people and they take them.

we have an interim dean right now. also remediation rates have declined between the class of 2027 and 2028 significantly. wherever you’re getting your info from (i’m assuming from students), it is not fully truthful based on information we have been given

i think meeting the CEO was one of the best parts of the interview tbh, everyone seems really passionate about student success

Thanks for your input as a current student. I agree it's important to take information from others with a grain of salt, but I just can't shake the red flags that I get from this program.

that’s fair! not every school is for everyone.

I have an interview this Friday at ARCOM. I have never had an interview with 2 people thus far. Would anyone be kind enough to give me some tips on how to approach this?

for those accepted, did they give a set timeline as to when you would hear a response? i am interviewing early dec but have another school's deposit due then as well. i am wondering if it is guaranteed to hear back within a week?
