Unfortunately, OOS Waitlist. Does anybody know if people tend to have success off of the "medium waitlist"
I am in a similar boat, I was placed on the "high waitlist". I've done some looking online to see what people on the waitlist were saying about the timeline for an acceptance from the list. It looks like there is a pretty good chance the high and medium waitlist will receive an acceptance, based on what people from past years were saying. They increased the class size last year and anyone who gets an MD acceptance might not receive that until spring, meaning they would hold their acceptance at ICOM until then. So personally I am not expecting to hear anything until next spring (around march through may, up to the start date).

hi everyone! i'm interviewing soon and was wondering if those who've already interviewed may have any suggestions on how to prep as an OOS applicant? all advice is much appreciated!

Accepted as an OOS applicant this cycle, free to reach out! Happy to help however I can 🙂

OOS A, received a call and then an email

Submitted 7/15 and haven’t heard anything except for app is complete on 8/8… anyone in the same boat?
I am kind of in the same boat as you...unless ofc you've heard back. Although my app was completed on 9/9. I'm lowkey freaking out.

Yeah… still haven’t heard anything…
I would definitely suggest reaching out to the admissions team! They were super helpful and can, generally, provide some information about the status of your application. I also think it helps increase the number of eyes on your application. I met with the admissions team many times and was thankful to receive an interview invite in September and was accepted early October. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Congratulations on getting an A!! Thank you so much for your reply, I was afraid to reach out bc I didn't want to bother them haha. Could you please tell me how to reach out respectfully without coming across as annoying? I would really like to show them my interest in their program so any help is appreciated!

Of course! I would go in through your portal and schedule a meeting with admissions. They are often super available and can usually meet the next day or day after. I’d come prepared with questions that you genuinely want answered regarding the school. Currently in Boise to visit for an accepted students day tomorrow. Campus looks awesome and I’m excited to see what it’s really like.

Just scheduled it! That's great to hear that you liked the campus and hope you enjoy the rest of your visit as well! thank you for your help!

Congratulations to all those that are accepted! If you plan to commit, there's a GroupMe for the class of 2030 to have a friendly space to connect before orientation — ask questions, share housing and moving info, plan meetups, and get to know your classmates. Excited to meet everyone and start this journey together!

I just interviewed yesterday (12/2/25). ICOMs website talks about how acceptances get sent out a week or two after the interview. But I have also seen post about people getting accepted day of or day after their interview.

I am just curious if anyone can speak on how quickly they got their acceptance to ICOM after they interviewed.

OOS A! interviewed 11/03
Congradulations! Out of curiousity, when did you get your acceptance? I guess I am just curious how long after your interview did you get your acceptance?

Unless something has drastically changed in their process, the admissions committee usually meets on Friday morning

Well, guys, I'm going to be withdrawing my A from ICOM. I went and visited, and really did love the school. I hope my spot goes to one of y'all!

I also went and visited and loved the school but just withdrew my A because it makes more sense for me right now to stay closer to home (east coast). Best of luck to all of you!

I am also withdrawing my A from here. Loved the school, but fell in love with another program elsewhere that I think will fit my needs a little better. Hoping my spot goes to one of you! Feel free to reach out if anyone has questions, happy to help how I can!

is it too late to send an app in?
DO timelines tend to be a little later/less aggressive than MD timelines

I say 100% send one in if you can financially afford to. I had a two day turnaround from compete application to interview invite (and that was over Halloween - later in the cycle).

Not too late to send an app in - you’ll never know unless you submit!

I have an interview coming up soon with ICOM - anyone have any advice on what to expect or how to prepare? Asking because I’ve been having a really hard time turning interviews into acceptances.

Feel free to reach out, happy to help! Was accepted to ICOM in early October but have withdrawn my acceptance from them. Applied to 12 schools this cycle, interviewed at 4, accepted at 4.
