When was your interview and when were you waitlisted?I got off the waitlist a couple weeks ago
I emailed them and asked the same question, they said that waitlist movement really starts picking up in mid-May.When does WL movement for this school typically start picking up 🥲
Congratulations!! All medical schools are the same at the end of the day, so it doesn't matter. Go where you think you will be the happiest and most satisfied (emotionally, physically, community, financially, academically, etc.) And from what I know, Rowan and MSUCOM are both great schools!+1 OOS A off the WL via phone call. Very exciting but also a bit conflicted since I am on the HPWL for RowanSOM, and it's not like guaranteed for me to get off of it. Also MSUCOM tuition is 88K vs about 75K for Rowan. Not sure if it's worth attending MSUCOM with that tuition difference, even though it is higher ranked.
Congrats!! May I ask when you interviewed and when you were waitlisted?+1 OOS A off the WL via phone call. On the portal it allows you to select your campus preference, where you place your top 2 choices in order. I cannot see which sites are full. Here's the blurb directly from the portal.Thank you! Isn't it mid-May though 😭Emailed admissions, they said mid-May

You are assigned to a campus after you accept your offer and choose your sites. Can say EL and DMC are full!
How long did they give you to submit your background check/ drug screen? I know you have to redo those even if you have compliant results from another school+1 OOS A off the WL today!
Debating on what to do since the EL and DMC campuses are full. Being from OOS, I am not sure how the Macomb campus is and whether it would be a good fit. Does anyone know the chances of getting placed into EL or DMC at this point?
The timeline said between May and June, but I assume before the start of classes on June 22nd.How long did they give you to submit your background check/ drug screen? I know you have to redo those even if you have compliant results from another
Wait classes start June 22nd? When I called they said orientation was the week ok July 7th and the first day of class was July 13. Unless it’s different for each site? The timeline said between May and June, but I assume before the start of classes on June 22nd.
Hey, also OOS (from outside of Philadelphia), and I chose the Macomb campus after touring the others. It’s a small campus but surrounded by a lot of the potential hospital centers for the clinical years, reducing the likelihood of needing to move again after second year. It’s a suburban area with lots of shopping and restaurants, close to the coast of Lake St. Clair, and there are a ton of apartment options in the area. Only 40 minutes away from Detroit city center. It made more sense for myself and my partner, who needed to secure full-time work, to come to Macomb. We weren’t really interested in being in downtown Detroit, and honestly, MSU’s main campus in East Lansing is beautiful but the surrounding area didn’t leave a lot to be desired. Being a small campus, the students seem really tight knit and there are more opportunities for leadership in student orgs, because each campus has their own organizational reps. If you have to go to Macomb, it might be a hidden gem if those kinds of things align with your goals and needs.+1 OOS A off the WL today!

There is an asynchronous orientation course that starts June 22, but in person orientation is the week of July 7th and in-person classes start July 13. The asynchronous course was designed to grandfather folks in to the old Federal PLUS loan rules (unlimited for the first 3 years, then $50K cap the fourth year). Classes in your program have to start, and you have to have received student loans, before July 1 to be grandfathered in. Here’s the academic calendar from the website: Academic CalendarWait classes start June 22nd? When I called they said orientation was the week ok July 7th and the first day of class was July 13. Before July 1. The harder part though is getting in all the titers. They require a positive Hep B titer; a full vaccine sequence is not enough. If you don’t have a positive result, you have to receive a booster and retest after 28 days. If you still test negative, you have to have the full sequence again and then re-test titers. A lot of folks are saying in the accepted student group-me that their initial Hep B titer was negative. Mine was, still waiting to retest and fingers crossed it will be positive. If you’re interested in knowing all of the vaccine and titer requirements, they’re publicly available here: ComplianceHow long did they give you to submit your background check/ drug screen? Interesting... Is there any way to see a virtual tour of the campus? I haven't been able to see anything on the website. If you have access to the accepted students group-me (should be a link in your portal and/or in a welcome email from admissions), I’d ask one of the second years in the Macomb chat if they can do a virtual tour. I toured in person and they have dedicated tour guides. Don’t see why they couldn’t do something over FaceTime.Interesting... Is there any way to see a virtual tour of the campus?
