Nov 2025 LOL

BTW: does anyone know where to find their match list success (I only found the list but not how many went to each specialty and which hospital)
If you go on the MSUCOM 2024-2025 thread someone actually posted a match list from 2022 on page 8!

Thanks! I will check it out, kinda was hoping that they published yearly reports or something so I can track trends (my neurotic brain needs something to do during this wait lol)

My MSUCOM app was complete in August, but I have not received an II yet. This is my top choice. Is a letter of intent appropriate to send? Did anyone hear back after sending an update?

Looking for some advice here. I'm an IS applicant and this is one of my top schools. I've sent two update letters to reiterate my strong interest in the school but was wondering whether emailing admissions to ask what more I could do would be a good idea.

There is one made by the career office but you only get access to it as a student

Hey, OOS A here. So I submitted my secondary on 9/3, it was marked complete on 10/17, and I received my interview invite on 11/12. What I devised from that timeline is that they were getting through first pass screenings pretty quickly to have extended an interview invite 3.5 weeks after my application was complete. I am assuming since you’ve sent two update letters at this point, it has been a while since you applied, and I think it would be reasonable to assume the admissions committee has taken a first pass at your application and now it lies somewhere in the stack. With two update letters, I really do believe you have done what you can to show your interest, and a request for feedback on your application before they have even rendered a decision may be viewed as desperate. For this cycle, I recommend waiting patiently, although I recognize that is terribly difficult. Beyond that, I would recommend seeking application feedback from a trusted advisor and begin to analyze how to strengthen things for a reapplication, especially if it is your plan to reapply this coming cycle if you don’t get admitted. Best of luck to you!

+1 OOS A yesterday! Interviewed 11/21. Planning on attending unless there is some miraculous movement at the MD programs I applied to. I hear the winters are cold in Michigan 🥶
I interviewed back in December, but two of the docs I work with did their residency programs in the system. They both said that the winters are BRUTAL. I am from Texas and we don't know anything about real cold, just heat lol.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I submitted back in July...I'm thankful to have gotten in elsewhere, just wanted to stay IS if possible (close to home + cheaper) and thankful I don't have to reapply. But we'll see I guess hahah, fingers crossed!

Wow so happy for you! What did you mention in your email? Did you have specific changes to your experiences since applying or did you reiterate your interest? I’m having trouble writing an update letter since my experiences haven’t changed since applying.

Messed up big time. I was working on a document for Letters of Interest. And was printing out the particular page meant for the school I was emailing to and sharing my interest. So I messed up and forgot this and sent 2 pages to MSUCOM which has letters for another school as well. I saw an option to edit on their portal but I am not able to access it. I don't know what to do and if I should call and have it removed and risk getting it more attention.

yeah, yikes. Sorry that happened to you. If you leave it go, they’re definitely going to see it. So, I guess you’d have nothing to lose by asking them if they’d delete it. Maybe just state that you accidentally uploaded a draft copy? They will either (a) still look at the file anyway and you are in the same scenario as you would be in if you left it go, or (b) delete it without looking and it’s a crisis averted. But I’d probably bank on them seeing it regardless.

I called and they said I can upload the correct file, but they can't pull any existing files uploaded onto the portal. I guess this deletes the already slim chance of me receiving an II

Interviewed 12/12 and it was my first interview, and it honestly did not go that well. Didn't even get a chance to ask a question at the end and I think my interviewer made a face for one of my responses because I'm pretty sure I repeated myself partially from another answer. Really hoping for the best here, but wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being an R 💀
